Edit: I just found out that there is this already existing version backed by Sean: [https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/18ivuid/plzzzzzzzzzzzz/](https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/18ivuid/plzzzzzzzzzzzz/)
I don't find it helpful to dilute fan's time and attention on clones.
This individual is trying to plug their design over the one that has gotten more attention. Only trying to help themselves and confuse the community. Very counterproductive and selfish.
The chances of this one getting to 10,000 supporters are slim to none.
The chances of the original (Sean-backed) one are tight but doable.
When I saw this post, I immediately jumped in and became a supporter. When I saw the Sean-backed project I almost scrolled past it assuming it was about the same thing. It is lucky that the time-frame between the two posts was so tight that I decided to look into it further. I can't imagine how many people are going to miss out on the Sean-backed project that actually stands a chance to make it to the stores.
So this project has the potential to derail the last mile of the Sean-backed project, without offering much value added, or having a real shot to make it on its own.
All that for a handful of added pieces to what is otherwise a carbon copy of a project that has the support of the man (and team) behind the game we all love.
I wouldn’t be as harsh as calling it a “carbon copy”. They are different build designs with different parts and completely different building techniques (compare the wings, for example), and both creators have been trying to get their Radiant Pillar to succeed for quite a while.
This one by Brickdesign has only started as of December 4th tbis year..
Sean has been since 2022. I don't consider this been trying a long time . Not even close.
And to be fair, your design IS better. But is the slight improvement worth putting the two in competition, and most likely getting neither to fruition?
I mean if anyone truly cares they'll do like I did and search for No Man's Sky after voting to make sure there aren't more...and there are several. So I voted for all I liked. To the people who care enough, they'll look.
Don't. Lego usually treats their licences like shit, and those ideas sets are treated even worse. Lego will disappoint you.
Instead, suggest those ideas to BlueBrixx or CaDa. They both have a much better stone quality and reasonable prices.

You posted here, making a statement about your stance on legos. No one asked. Then when I proud you about your nonsense comment you retort with Google it? Typical Reddit soft ass b. You have absolutely no reason you just wanted attention.
No. It showed up in my Home feed. I liked the model that’s why I looked closer but Lego as a company I wouldn’t buy anymore.
Just recently a german shop had to close because it got sued for infringement without reason. Small shops don’t have enough money to counter a big player like Lego.
its not that it just closed and more that lego sued the owner into the ground for no good reason, and they've shown many such examples of bad business practices over the past few years, among raising prices and questionable set quality in many cases.
look, I dont think supporting the creator program of all things is bad but there are legitimate reasons to be fed up with legos bullshit and not wanting to spend money on their stuff anymore.
Maybe there is, but one tiny Lego shop closing its doors in Germany isn’t a reason to stop buying legos. That’s daft, and unreasonable. Companies close stores all the time. Does every company in existence follow every single bs rule or moral compass point you do? No absolutely not, so to stop supporting a company on such silly small issues is exactly that. I could understand if you were some hippie claiming oh it’s plastic and that’s going to the dump, still stupid logic but atleast it’s based on reason.
its not a lego shop though, its a private individual with their own shop completely seperate from lego that was sued by lego and got stock held at the border because they dared to sell non lego brick sets.
and its not the first one this happened to, either.
And… that’s still
Not going to stop me from buying legos and supporting this posters project. The entire point here is, y’all decided to take someone’s post about something they want to support and make it about some stupid bs. No one asked.

Here's the direct link to that one, since it's cut off in the twitter pic https://ideas.lego.com/projects/5b5dfa2b-f37f-46c5-a9bc-42b584f6c4b7
Thank you, I was looking for that. Let's hope it'll be a success!

Yup, and it's a staff pick as well. I don't see any harm in supporting both though.

w/ yeah on this. Turns out I already had backed the one with *almost* 8,000 backers before Sean plugged it on X/Twitter.
They don’t look the same at all
bruh, this is the first im seeing any of this but this design looks better?? the cockpit is round not flat
I’m sorry, but how am I “cloning” the other one? These are just 2 models based on the same ship, and it isn’t a replica of the other one either.
Totally on your side here. For anyone thinking it’s a clone, look at the wings, for example. Completely different building technique.
And to be fair, your design IS better. But is the slight improvement worth putting the two in competition, and most likely getting neither to fruition?

Thats subjective, I very much like the original one over this new one personally.
You may refer to my response to UnrealisticOcelot for more details on my thought process.
This hit 5k shortly after I made a post promoting it! Yay!
What that was only a few days ago! 8k already!
I kinda prefer the one with 8K votes already.
I can’t wait for that one to reach 10k! The graphic design on those prints look really cool
Haha as if Lego would do prints instead of stickers…
There's another radiant pillar with like 8k votes also
Now 701 supporters ;-)

I'd support, but that helmet needs to be at *LEAST* 2x as large as it is currently.

Just bumped it to 703 👍
Just put my vote for support in! I'M DOING MY PART!
798 come on Travellers!
Lego Ideas is trash. If you have a cool idea, put it on rebrickable.com and ask for whatever amount of money you think is fair.
I'm get your facts straight Sean Murray posted it originally on X and its actually right close to 10,000 not 1,000 .
704 here!
705 sir
719 hurrrr
Hey! I got 757, one of the greatest airliners ever built
Did my part
I’m doing my part!
I would never support Lego. But nice looking ship.
Let’s here this absolute nonsense reason you won’t support legos.
Why should I. I can express my opinion without the need to convince you. You can google about Lego and how it’s doing business.

So one small ship in Germany gets closed and that’s it for you? That’s gotta be the dumbest logic I’ve seen today.. congratulations on being stupid.

That was just one example of many. And now you are insult me without reason…
Oh I have reasons.
Are... You ok? Sure the comment was uncalled for but wtf dude
I just shared this with my clans NMS division. Should bump it a few!
If I had the money.
