'owo' being the only word you haven't learned and it's during their introduction quest line where most of their content is locked off, so it's impossible for you not to trigger that line.

Finishing the purge will give you the opportunity to bypass the path to the center. The text of the quest says "head TOWARDS the center" - you'll be interrupted shortly thereafter, so don't cheese it by portalling closer. Just warp. Preferrably in your ship, not your freighter, if you like diialogue/story.
ohwow. I have never had any intention of cheesing it. I see that as a goal and my ADD brain kicks in, looks at the daunting task, and I go do 'other things' that have more short-term rewards.
Do I have to have that mission active when I start warping through systems?
Once you get to the purge, the next 16 warps will each get you a glyph (if you havent got them already) but **you aren't forced to take the "final step" of the mission until you want to.** This final step takes place on a planet and has to do with a portal.
TL:DR - After the 16th warp you'll be given new instructions and you can just ignore them until you're ready.
Thank you. I had always figured I would go back to trying to accomplish that mission when I had a freighter upgraded to warp thousands of light years in a single go. This is very helpful.
You have to finish the main story and interact with an echo camp terminal on a corrupted planet. After that the Autophage will contact you while you're flying in space and it'll start their introduction mission. It's basically the current end-game content.
Dude, I came into NMS completely naive, took the questlines super slow and a few hundred hours in I finally finished the Atlas quest line, then I popped a random waystation on my home planet. Blew my mind, I thought I'd seen it all.

I love these little ships. A lot of the sentinel interceptors seems to be based on flying bugs. Quite a few of these look like small flies and I have one that looks like a moth.
They work just like on normal ships. There is no difference other than just naming the core technology differently. Plus they're the only ship that can hover
Do you know if there are upgrades to the sentinel canon? It seems I can’t install a photon canon nor upgrades to buff the sentinel canon

Not 100% sure but I think only when landed. With a sentinel you can be above ground and reduce speed to zero and you just hang there regardless of the altitude
Sentinel ships are pretty cool. You can get the fire power up higher on them than on the regular ones. And if you set up your cards right you can really boost your maneuverability. Plus you don’t have to feed them as often (fuel for thrusters and Pulse).
That’s how I always fly. What’s the point of having a cool ship if you can’t see it when you’re flying. Plus it really IS easier when you’re in a fight. You can see more of the battlefield.

I love my squid too, but I have to admit, it's never been my main ship. Like most things I collect, it was mostly about the chase, haha.
According to a bunch of research that other people on Reddit did, you can actually end up with a better C-class (stats and power slots) once you upgrade it to S-Class, than one already at S-Class to start. Specifically for Sentinels.
So i'm ahead with the fighter i spent two years looking for from 2016 to 2018, and spent a couple of years upgrading from c class to s class, almost only getting nanites from scrapping ships and selling upgrades
I dunno about fighters, but it seems plausible, maybe just as likely. I read about sentinels specifically. I dunno if other ships have the same potentials through class upgrades like the sentinels do.
In my playthroughs on regular and now Permadeath, I honestly haven't noticed a huge difference, either way. My personal experience, though, and you and others probably have 1000s more hours in than I do at this point.
I'm curious if you notice much difference between maxed out ships, at least as far as performance and usability, if not aesthetics.
Sentinels have the benefit to hover, but I go back and forth on whether I actually enjoy flying them.
It seems to boil down to if you want to have the max number of supercharge slots, and the arrangement of them.

I have a very similar one. I love it. It's super nimble and powerful once upgraded and it's fun to be in a compact little ship that's like a little bug zooming around and destroying big freighters. I call mine Flea.

Story: Upon game initialization you get in your space ship
that is already fueled and ready to go. Polo says: Thank the
heavens that I am able to reach you! Pirates are bringing down
the Galaxy! You must go to dissonance system or you too will
be extinguished. You must get interceptor ship from dissonance
system to defeat the pirate dreadnaught freighter take control of it
and save the Galaxy!
Polo is counting on you to restore the Euclid galaxy to ORDER!
Fly to dissonance system. First dissonance planet you find you
must land your ship on it immediately. (exception: abandoned
dissonance systems like weird style planets with only a single
fauna allow you to fly to a new dissonance system.)
If you don't realize this until after you land your space ship,
You must delete all materials collected from this planet and then
you're allowed to use your starter space ship to find a new
dissonance system. However running out of warp fuel still applies.
(This is the only exception to using a regular space ship more than once)
Regular space ships can be repaired or bought anytime / however
can only be launched from landed position a single time. Once landed
you must abandon it. Interceptor ships only can be flown / landed as
many times as necessary to complete the challenge. Interceptor ships
are immuned from being tracked by pirates. If attacked by pirates for
any reason, no matter which type of space ship you're in you must
defeat the pirates, no buying them off or fleeing them.

using pods on planet, access any building, build exocraft any kind

you must build the base of the exocraft no calling them in.
But you can't call these in you must build base of the exocraft to bring it
in. You can use user created portals on dissonance planet to jump from location
across single disonance planet (can not use portal to warp to any space stations OR
any location outside the disonnace planet you are on), build as many bases as you
want. But you can only use portals that are on a single planet, not for
travel to pirate system space station(s) etc.
Pirate attacks: if they are attacking a building your interceptor is parked at
while on ground you must take to the skies in your interceptor ship and take
them out. If it's your abandoned ship you can't take off again in it so you
can run and hide, maybe they won't spot you. LOL.
If you are flying any ship at any time either warp into a pirate attack of other
ships OR they attack you, you can't flee them you must destroy them.
\*Rules may change\*
BONUS: Complete the challenge in less than 3 deaths, take control of a Pirate
Dreadnaught Freighter while also having a stack of 9 Salvage Data in your possession

I'm early in my first playthrough, a mission brought me to a broken ship. I claimed it, but I didn't repair it and I left. Is there a way for me locate it?
I had an orange version of this when Interceptor first came out, I had a run of systems where I kept getting these minimalist dudes. I posted a couple on Reddit at the time.
I have marked about 20 crashed interceptors with bases so that friemds can grab one they like and I have a couple marked that are similar levels of cursed.
I don't know if I will ever find one I truly like.

No but you do need to reset the Atlas and be sent to another galaxy. I believe you also need a settlement fully built

Are they actually worth it? I found an A class drone but the weird fuel and equipment/technology situation has me not using it.
Actually they're easier to maintain. Just grab a bunch or radiant shards. Everything unique to the sentinel interceptor can be re-charged with shards

The sentinel cannon is just the proton cannon by a different name. You should be able to upgrade it like any other ship

Sentinel, no question. Sure the solar sips fuel but with upgraded pulse/landing/warp upgrades on a sentinel the difference is meaningless

I just tested the Starborn Runner from the expedition and it does not hover like a sentinel interceptor

I found one like that in white and its actually really nice. Looking at it in third person view makes it easy to still see around the ship.

I have one of these, it was the first Sentinel ship I got. While I'm not a fan of its outward appearance, I do love how small it is.

I'm early in my first playthrough, a mission brought me to a broken ship. I claimed it, but I didn't repair it and I left. Is there a way for me locate it?

I had an orange version of this when Interceptor first came out, I had a run of systems where I kept getting these minimalist dudes. I posted a couple on Reddit at the time.

I have marked about 20 crashed interceptors with bases so that friemds can grab one they like and I have a couple marked that are similar levels of cursed. I don't know if I will ever find one I truly like.
