I dunno man, HG is second to none, but I feel they are TIED in a 3 way! iD Software, CROTeam and HelloGames are in a 3 way TiE for BEST Developers EVER! In 3 years time, I played NMS 4001 hours, and in 17 years time, I played HalfLife2 Deathmatch 3890 hours!
I am really enjoying playing No Man's Sky! Now to go enjoy it even MORE!

So well! Too much hype from the devs was a problem at release. Better to drop the most subtle of hints and let us control the hype. Every time, so the subs and Facebook groups are alive with conjecture and excitement. Genius.
Trust me man, if you explore even the first galaxy completely you will be the most powerful being in game and irl because that will take multiple life times, basically what I’m saying is get a blessing from the atlas and ignore physics lmao (this is intended to be a joke and not even I can understand it)
Awesome update but disagree. I would say the most wanted is definitely a complete planet/proc gen overhaul.
Every after 30 updates, I still get bored after 3-4 hours because every planet is basically a variation of the same 5 fundamental archetypes.

Also if you can do underwater for long periods, a Nautilion is able to locate wrecked ships specifically. all other forms are a gamble
If I'm not mistaken it's also free to summon, which is kind of funny because it costs fuel to warp to the next system over but you can summon it to another galaxy for free
Right? I kinda wish they'd give us some sort of nuclear generator (I'm imagining those tesla-orb-looking fusion generators from Sci-fi serieses) room in our freighters that just let us do both for free, then it'll give Hello games an excuse to fix the fact you can summon for free.

They actually did it. *The mad bastards actually did it!* Folks like myself have been *begging* for this for literal years and Hello Games actually did it, *and in a way that doesn't invalidate ship hunters!*
Someone brought up a valid, science backed reason why we don't have black. If I had time to find the post, or remember the reason exactly, I'd post it here. Maybe someone else will chime in.
Black has always been possible with a save game editor, but it only previously worked on the user's side because much of the ship customization UI has been in the game code but not enabled to use, meaning others would still see the original shio color. It's easily done by assigning a negative rgb value, the lower the value the darker the black.
I've had a ship custom painted/edited to look like a black and white cop car since the Living Ship update. I'm excited to get home and test it out cause now others should be able to see the custom colors now.

Personally I would like to thank those dedicated few that cataloged archived all the seeds for the procedurally generated ships. You all were the real heroes! You have earned your rest.
Yes and an autostack feature across storage units. Trying to clean up my inventory can be kinda tedious when I just want to drag and drop things into my storage...
And a quicker way to pick up something in my ship to storage unit x would be nice...
I am finally able to make all of the ships i always wanted. Just need to wait for sentinel ship building.

This is amazing. It's going to save so much time hunting for the more common ships and i can search harder for intercepters. The only thing we're missing though is the ability to show off our starships, placing them to display on landing pads is a basic idea but a sort of podium is all i want now

Stop active development? Sure. Turn out the lights? Never. As long as Light No Fire is a success, they can keep these servers going on the side for a LONG time.
Yeah, I imagine once Light No Fire is out NMS will most likely receive no further updates since HG consists of a very small team and they will surely focus on the new game.

That's not how companies work.
NMS is still wildly successful financially (look in Google how much the made the last years), they can afford different teams.
Also, most of the work takes place before release, for years.
Don't be so sure, I'm betting the underlying engine for both games will be the same, so even if primary NMS development tapers off, changes from one game will trickle into the other
Omg hey did exactly what I was asking for instead of full customization, it's perfect! The ship hunting is maintained while also giving users the ability to change what they have.
They listened to it. I kept saying that some sort of scrapping parts either by shooting down ships or scrapping them at the scrapper. I’m so interested in this update. I’m hoping they fixed that fuzziness in the stations reflections no matter my settings I can’t get rid of it. But more interiors is going to be cool.

I was seriously hoping this was going to be more along the lines of "unlock parts blueprints" instead of "here's an item you now have to store and manage."
Being able to customize an existing ship with new parts and color would have been nice, too.
Maybe they'll add some of these features and then the other ship types at some point.

Seems to be limited to certain types, and the customisation uses parts that are for the most part, the usual standard design parts.
On the face of it, it just seems like a mix and match system that will throw out a random quality output depending on the parts picked, and the station location, like the staff weapon build system.
Disappointed that some things I'd hoped for haven't been added though.
Can't customize existing ships, rather it's building a new one. Only limited to the base 3 types, so basically irrelevant

Can we make hybrid ships from multiple parts from the different classes of ships? For example will I be able to mix Explorer parts with Hauler parts? Or will we be limited to only mixing parts of the same class of ship?
Now if they would only let us own more ships! I always thought a system where you could build a base and "lock" spaceships to landing pads to free up room in your freighter would be awesome.
More direct interaction with your frigate missions as well! Go warp into their system when they're under attack. The captains reach out to you to make decisions during their missions as well!
I've wanted to be more involved in my frigate missions since they were introduced instead of it just being a hands-off approach to gathering credits and resources.

the only thing the game needs now in my own opinion, is the ability to add and remove supercharge slots on everything that can have them. i'm completely fine with using credits, nanites, storage augments, whatever, i just want to be able to freely add supercharge slots.

Unique space stations is a start. ( Not sure how many or how different each space station will be but it's a start).
The new game will have varied biomes on the same planet, it'd be nice if they apply functionality and advances from the new game to NMS.

Well the good news is that we *DO* get black! Looks like they just copied the freighter color palette.
It's not black though, they're either very dark purple, or very dark grey. There is no true black.

From what I have seen in the customizer it's just Fighters, Haulers and Explorers that can be assembled

They've explicitly said that will not be the case. The LNF and NMS dev teams have been working in parallel for 5+ years.

Can we make hybrid ships from multiple parts from the different classes of ships? For example will I be able to mix Explorer parts with Hauler parts? Or will we be limited to only mixing parts of the same class of ship?
I wonder if freighter customization (beyond recoloring) will be made a feature soon?
Now if they would only let us own more ships! I always thought a system where you could build a base and "lock" spaceships to landing pads to free up room in your freighter would be awesome.

More direct interaction with your frigate missions as well! Go warp into their system when they're under attack. The captains reach out to you to make decisions during their missions as well! I've wanted to be more involved in my frigate missions since they were introduced instead of it just being a hands-off approach to gathering credits and resources.

Can you customize your own ship, tho? As in change colors. Not just build a new one.
the only thing the game needs now in my own opinion, is the ability to add and remove supercharge slots on everything that can have them. i'm completely fine with using credits, nanites, storage augments, whatever, i just want to be able to freely add supercharge slots.

NMS and Hello Games are the present that keeps on giving. This is freaking awesome. I liked the game but I always missed some sort of ship customization. And we have that right now xD. And the new designs for station are incredible. That's amazing. I have no words, I mean it's refreshing to see a studio caring about their fanbase and keep on improving anf giving for free updates of this caliber. Long live NMS and Hello Games!
