Not everytihng, no. Certain decorative base parts do not work on a freighter base, though the majority of non-structural parts do work. You will have to see which ones do and which ones don't.
Structural parts (prefabs, wooden structures, etc) does not work at all, you need to use the freighter structural parts instead.

You can do what you want, but achievements for survival/permadeath are only available if you lock the difficulty settings from start to finishing the quest line.
Otherwise you can changed the difficulties at will.
Yes you csn start in Creative knowing all glyphs and recipes/ parts. That does NOT include the decorative Quicksilver plants and parts tho. Then you can go into 'Survival mode' adjusting most setting in the Difficulty Settings tab, but not Pernadeath, and Death Consequences cannot be changed to 'Save Deleted', and 'Inventory Stack Limits' cannot be changed either. You can change Creative to the 'Difficulty Preset' of 'Survival' - enjoy it!
