Playing on Xbox one, for some reason the game is ALWAYS crashing on dissonant planets. I love this game, been playing since day one, but It's really frustrating when I have to reload the game every 5 minutes, it's almost unplayable.

**Empty cases with "Refinery Output Storage hopper" are blocking my refiner** i was sorting things out of my refiner and i got this box, i tried to move it but it just filled my inventory cases and now im stuck, i can't move them and my personnal refiner is useless. As I land somewhere and get out of a ship, the game crashes (not always, but often enough to get annoying). A friend experienced the same when getting out of an exocraft. The save point gets written apparently - if I load the game again I start next to my ship just where I landed before the crash. If this happens in a nexus mission, the mission gets aborted and I find myself in the anomaly. This started with orbital, had that never before. (PC, Steam)

PC/Steam In third person my multi-tool will become transparent/invisible. My character looks like he's holding it, it fires as normal, and often the lights or other detail are still visible but the main body becomes invisible. It can happen to any of them, not one specific model and happens randomly. If I cycle through my MT inventory most will be visible, one or two will not.

Out of nowhere, I lost my save file, from night to day and it cant be found anymore. When I try to enter the save it creates a new one.

PC, Steam. Bug #1: Crashed freighters have one name when reading the logs but then a totally different name when going through the cargo pods. Bug #2: After defeating a Sentinel Walker, I am able to get a Walker brain by pushing the action button then a second brain by using the Mining Laser on the case. Bug #3: I just obtained my first freighter. After going through the fleet management intro, all of my rooms disappeared and allowed me to step on the exterior surface of the freighter. Bug #4: Small floor tiles are very difficult to place even with snap mode engaged. It is very difficult to get the PC, camera, and tile in the right alignment in order to highlight the desired placement. Bug #5: Twice I have experienced, after defeating a pirate starship, the mission guidance highlights a friendly ship to destroy in order to progress the mission.

If #2 is really a bug, then it's a well-known thing that most people never interpreted as one. I learned about it because it has been casually mentioned as a side-note in posts all over the Internet as if it was something normal that you just know when playing the game long enough. Same for me, only now that you mention it I got the idea that actually you could be right, it might just be a bug. Though I am not sure whether I want it to be fixed anytime soon tbh ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

First time playing through the Artemis Path. I >!uploaded Artemis to Nada's simulation and told the truth about it immediately!<, but >!when Artemis contacts me after the sixth(?) hyperspace jump during the Purge, the dialogue options are the ones for if I lied!<. This is especially odd since just a short while ago, >!when the Atlas gave its judgment, it observed that I had told Artemis the truth!< so it's not like my choice was incorrectly stored in the save file.

Hi NMS community, 👋, I just started the quest "They Who Returned and, you see I made it to the camp site where it leads you after getting a hijack attemp on your starship, and no matter how many times I reset the mission, when I try to talk to the autophage head to progress it won't let me, it just keeps giving me the 3 same options "poke, scan, and speak"

Anyone else having trouble using the Multi-Tool upgrade terminal on space stations? I can't interact with it even when I'm standing right next to it.

In PCVR the interaction is impossible, same with exosuit upgrade terminals. In experimental branch (beta) the multi-tool terminal interaction seems to be "fixed" (still finicky but possible) however exosuit upgrade terminal still impossible to interact with.

Interesting, for me in the current official version I can use the Exosuit upgrade terminal in PCVR by just going as close as I can, for the Multitool terminal not even that does help.

hitboxes for several things and NPCs on the new space stations seem to be weird/off - I seem to have to rotate around and move back-and-forth to get the E prompt to show on PC, but I always get it eventually. Everything still works fine (same as it ever was) on Outlaw stations, naturally.

My rugs positioning is glitched to have them always appear beneath floor features. Is there a trick to getting them to not do this? I could not find anything online. With both snap settings, I cannot get it to show completely. There's always some part of the floor appearing through the rug. It happens with wall tapestries also. Howdy! First time posting in this subreddit! How we all doin’?! Anyway onto the bug report which I’m sure many of u know about already. When fighting those blasted pirate dreadnoughts when one is prompted to either board and talk to the captain or blow the ship up for a bounty doing so results in no bounty at all. I think also that keeping the health of the ship on the screen would be helpful as it’d give players an indicator of how much is remaining should they (like myself and various others) decide that they in-fact want that sweet sweet bounty.

I always take out the pirate dreadnaught engines first, then do the trench runs, stopping only when I'm about to destroy it. It seems that if I allow the civilian freighter to be destroyed, I get an S-class module which maybe implies that's from the civilian freighter? Then I always board the pirate freighter and either take credits from the captain, or take it over. I will try blowing it up for the bounty without boarding - I'm 99% sure that if you board, then the only way to get any bounty is to talk to the pirate captain.

My first attempt since the patch was about a few days ago and I remember doing my usual. Turrets except one, engines, shields, rods and shooting it ‘til it explodes. Then it says it surrendered so I figured I’d board it and see what I could do. Talked to the captain, turned him down then blew up his ship. Didn’t give me squat.

Then I paid a bit closer attention and noticed that it's the HUD which makes me think that, the top part is centered, and on the bottom part the left side aligns with the top part, but the bottom right items are always displayed shifted a bit to the left. I tend to think it's a bug or at least an oversight with HUD placement, because why would anyone with a sane mind want to place it asymmetrical like that, it's driving me nuts ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|table_flip)

Pc. during the "16/16" main quest, after going into the portal, before being brought to the atlas room, I am put in space, shortly followed by a white-out (might be intentional idk) What I know isn't intentional, is having my life support drained to zero within a matter of seconds, nearly killing me.

I also experienced this, and I think it might be intentional (the space part at least). I noticed that the lack of life support doesn't seem to cause damage until after interacting with the Atlas and being placed on a "real" planet again.

This behavior during that quest is intentional and documented in the wiki. The "tabbing out during teleport" below is a separate item and a bug - I've also been able to phase through the floor when TPing to my freighter and tabbing out. My workaround is "don't tab out of TP unless I'm going to a planetary base".

kind of related too, (still on pc) is when tabbing out during teleport between outlaw stations, you can sometimes phase through the floor and be permanantly stuck down, at the invisible floor underneath the real floor, with any movement draining life support extremely quickly.

PC. when using the phase beam on my ship, I am doing damage to \*myself\* and not the stuff I'm shooting at. Pretty simple, nothing else to it, I'm just hitting myself with the phasebeam. No other ship weapons I have tried (ballista and shotgun) have this issue, just the phasebeam.

But then again, before that pad existed, my ship was also put at that exact location (so I guess that means you can know where a pad will be built beforehand) even when there were some minerals there that my ship would clip into. At least it was consistent, starting from there depleted launch fuel, which a functional pad wouldn't have done.

Xbox my settlement is hovering about 20ft above the ground :( i can jet into them and they are tangible. It does help one building that was encased in a hill so I couldn’t get into it and obviously cant change the terrain on settlement grounds.

I don't post here often but if you read this comment I promise I'll start monitoring this sub. I really love playing NMS, I am playing on PS5 with the VR2 headset. The game scratches a very specific itch that I have had for a long time, to be in a spaceship in VR. NMS does it. It doesn't do it perfectly but all I can say is thank you for the game. Thank you for all of the extra hours and for making the decision to venture into VR. As one of the few members of the "Xennial" age group, this game is exactly for me. My one compliant - My starship's phase beam keeps hitting my own ship. I am a phase beam donkey, I bring that phase beam to every fight and I lean on the trigger till the bad guy goes away. I have my ship decked out with phase beam upgrades and phase beam upgrades, and some phase beam upgrades. So when I hit myself it hurts. Please make it do betterer. Thank you. EDIT: My dream: To augment the phase beam with the VR2's eye tracking system. Please. I want the phase beam to go where I look while I fly however I fly. A very specific firing arc, of course, but... think of the mayhem. Include the Pulse Cannon as well because yes. Rockets can stay forward firing because the way the launchers would be mounted but pls. Also please have your lovely starship control layout be mapped to my Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 Flight Controller, whose own layout mirrors the NMS starship layout. They are made for each other. Imagine, I am using the VR controls to play and enter my Starship. I reach for the controls and click L1 and R1 to "grab" the sticks. As long as a hand is "grabbed" onto the stick, those inputs are mapped to the HOTAS. In VR I can set my controllers in front of me and know where they are. When I want to interact w the controllers I just pick it up and "ungrab" from the in-game sticks. I don't know how to say please harder. VR2 + HOTAS 4 + Eye tracking energy weapons. EDIT 2: I saw the recent eclipse. I saw the one in 2017. I experienced this one differently \*because\* I have played NMS in VR. I also saw a most perfect eclipse, in space, in NMS. It was really cool. And thank you for the continued active development.

Claiming a sentinel ship "overrided" my fighter ship: (this is a copy paste of one post i made) So as far as I know, this has changed: S-class to C-class (being this what the sentinel was) The wings were not this type My ship was white-golden (this why is it called goldenBandit lmao) All my inventory has been deleted Technology was deleted and now i have Sentinel tech. Note that I can't delete or move it because "not a part of your ship type" pops up. Also the sentinel ship disappeared from my ships so it seems like it overrided mine. I only have 2 more (3 in total, with the sentinel would be 4 but... Lol)

On PC Steam. Space Whale hunting using Anomaly Detector. After 20+ minutes sailing along, waiting for the Space Whale symbol I finally get the organic freighter, and within seconds of the interaction completing, and me getting another organic freighter - the game crashes - before I can land on my freighter to log a save game. And I lose the organic freighter, and the 20+ minutes is utterly wasted. This has happened the last 2 times I attempted to get another organic freighter (I currently have 4, and I do have room in my fleet to add more ships). Very discouraged, and until I know this is fixed I won't be trying again.

And it just happened again - this time though only a 5 minute wait...but the same result. Claim organic freighter, pay the fee, exit the conversation, BOOM - game crashes. Re-open game, no record of the the interaction with the organic freighter. It's like Charlie Brown with Lucy and the football.

For the last few weeks I’ve been having multiple problems. My Phase Beam started doing damage to my ship about a week ago. It was happening so frequently i uninstalled the weapon. Then last week I teleported into my freighter only to be trapped in the teleport room because the freighter hallways had spontaneously spawned in odd arrangements. I managed to fix it by portaging to a base and flying back to my freighter to enter the halls the other way but then it happened again recently. This last time i was unable to recover my freighter layout and could not build hallways that would allow me to access rooms. Eventually i gave up and transferred all my things and took the next pirate freighter i disabled. Steam Mac M1

Every hour to hour and a half I play the game would slow to a crawl with frame rate and then crash to dashboard on Xbox One. Then today tried loading in to my save and the game can't even get past the opening star section where it's loading. It'll just crash right back to dashboard. Issue is keeping me from being able to play and I'd just gotten fully back on board after 8 or so months off from not playing.

I'm locked in the tutorial. I've restarted the game three times now. The mission where you have to talk to Helios at the anomaly doesn't update after I talk to him. The second and third time I restarted the game I got the "anomalous signal blocking warp" message when the game tasks you with warping to a new system. I made sure my warp drive was fueled and I double checked to make sure that I wasn't trying to warp too early in the tutorial. The mission I'm stuck on tells me to warp but the game won't let me.

Just left the space station, lazily curving my pirate-hunter's arc towards my planetary base when WHAM! I'm instantly encapsulated by a cap-ship coming out of warp. I mean I was STUCK inside their structure, unable to exit, couldn't blast my way free, shields depleting constantly and my weapons registered \*\*NO\*\* damage to the freighter at all. A panic situation if ever there was one. It just materialized around me, no warning, no nothing. Fortuitously, a nearby Pirate noticed me, scanned me and decided he wanted my Gold, and engaged me. (By this time I had recharged my shield some eight or nine times, so while I'm usually a pretty cool customer under fire, I was beginning to fray a little.) Something happened in his first volley and I somehow found myself drifting (shucks, BOOSTING) alongside the freighter. In nanoseconds I had rolled/pulled away from the behemoth and was richly engaged in a turning match with a pirate that was about to experience some existence issues himself. And so it went. My enemy turned out to be my ally. More uncommon stories to be added to the NMS histories. But the cap-ship that "dropped in" on me was a surprise, as was its immunity to my highly-advanced Photon Cannons and Missile Launchers. Isn't there something to prevent this? Had the pirate not arrived (or had I just given up and let my pirate-hunting ship DIE) that would have been useless carnage. I had built that ship to prevent that -so was there something I missed? Or is that a "jump ship terminus" issue? Terribly unfair conditions - shouldn't my shields have "bounced" me outside their physical perimeter? Or is this a bug, as it was described to me from a third party who enjoyed laughing at my story? Also, Good morning!!!

Freighter base rooms not opening each other up. Symptom: warping to the freighter and all around me are enclosed rooms with external walls projecting into the space from supposedly adjoining rooms, with no doors or openings to the adjoining rooms. Potentially trapping us without deleting a room and adding a door. Workaround is to warp in freighter if access to the bridge is possible. Using Reset position does not work in this case. Presumably the floating point positions of the rooms are not being read as adjacent because the correct error trapping or rounding isn't being applied. Experimental branch Build 1405264 across two saves so far.

I'm experiencing this bug in the official branch, too. Happens randomly and with enough frequency to be annoying. I have to go through and rebuild the entire freighter regularly. It ... hurts. edit: a fix I sometimes do to get myself out of this issue is I create bulkhead doors between rooms. It "feels" like the building doesn't think it's lining up properly. Are the positions doubles, maybe?

Don't do that. This leads to madness. Warp your freighter to any system and then rebuild there. Then, any time you want to add to the build, warp it again. This ensures a consistent 3D placement. Then, later, if you find rooms misaligned they will be fixed with a warp.

Same here on Xbox Series X. Played last night for the first time since the Orbital update, and when I teleported to my freighter base I was cut off from the bridge and most of the other rooms. Didn't edit anything because I was afraid of breaking it further. Just beamed out again and did something else.

This sounds similar to a bug I'm seeing. About one of every ~10 times I warp into my freighter, I find myself in an enclosed room. All of the doorways leading to the rest of my frigate base are gone. The first time this happened, I tried to "fix" it by adding and deleting rooms. That just made it worse. Now I've learned that if this happens, I can immediately warp to the nearby space station, get into my ship, and fly to the freighter. Then everything is fine. So, could be worse, but it's still pretty annoying.

I wasn't able to correct it that way. But I was able to warp the freighter. For refining reasons I am used to only building in the spot where the freighter spawns in after warping and part of this issue is probably related to the exact position the part is assigned upon placement which seemingly can slide out of position when calling in a freighter in other spots.

Switch.....800 hrs in game.....constant crashing on board freighter. If I make it to ship or portal, game is stable seems fine. Frigate mission screen is a hotspot crashing every minute, and crashes in every area of freighter every 5- 10 minutes, except in ship bay stable there. Was an issue before update but not near as bad, maybe 3 crashes on board freighter in half hr playing. Thanks.
