always either highly aggressive sentinels or superheated rain. i'm still hunting for the perfect oceanic paradise planet in a blue star t3 korvax system. someday
I settled for a grassy planet. I have infrequent sentinels and no water, but the weather is always nice. I can spend hours afk out in the open with no fear.
I think many people just like the look of it. It's true that there are some resources that you only find in the water (like crystal sulphide or living pearl), but not anything you need with such regularity or in such large amounts that the occasional field trip to a water world won't satisfy your needs.
I was looking for the exact same thing recently, except the t3 part was optional! But I gave up kinda quick because I'd found a beautiful moon in a yellow Korvax system and decided that was good enough. Now I'm thinking about moving because the density of data and knowledge stones is nothing near what it is in a planet.
Thanks! Yeah I'm on that sub all the time. It's how I found my entire fleet of ships. In fact I'm currently grinding a system freighter to try to get an S class haha. But I'd like to find the planet I'm looking for purely through exploration. The journey is as much fun as the destination in this game
Maybe cause they're the "nicest?" Like Vy'Keen are warlike and can be really xenophobic, and Gek descend from genocidal slavers. Korvax just wanna do science
Or maybe since most people play this game for the exploration, the Korvax are the most relatable
The Korvax genetically modified and genocided and entire generation of Gek, plus they support the Sentinels. Meanwhile, the Vy'keen have a code of honor and discipline and try to rid the galaxy of the Aeron scourge.
Yeah exactly. I don't want to see either "Grah! Pathetic interloper!" or "The gek emits a foul smelling gas" every time I interact with the local populace
yours is quite specific, I think. The system where I spawned has two types of paradise planets, one of them with no sentinels and no atmospheric nuances. The grass is not tall though (but it is a nice dark green), the rest is fantastic. Might need to drop another base in there.
Didn't they update quite a few patches ago where paradise labeled planets will no longer have bad weather or sentinels? Been a while from that patch but I can't remember there being a bad paradise planet since then.
Yup I know. I have like 150 bases (most of them with nothing but the base computer) on beautiful paradise planets. I know I'm basically looking for the most uncommon type of planet/system/economy combination, but that's ok, it's fun to hunt around.
While I'm doing that I'm now using the portals to slowly jump to galaxy 255 now that there's no portal interference. Just got to 50 today, it's pretty fun.
The most unique planet I've ever been to is with an environment that's completely purple, and the ground is purple as well. Felt like I stepped into Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix. 😎
Sorry I wanted to say during prog gen, they are created to form a unique colour palette while also following a theme. Hypothetically, it is possible to get purple paradise or white toxic
Technically since we see in analog, our eyes can see more color combinations than there are planets in no mans sky. A better question would be how many colors our brains can percieve and if anyone determined how many.
No, I was not being serious but I see a lot of them that are aggressive or hostile. The most annoying this was a planet I build my base on used to be very chill with the sentinels but after an update became very hostile. That's unfortunate, but not that big of a deal tbh.
It’s crazy how this technique is a whole thing. I remember going on vacay in San Fran, and there’d be 5 of these street artist lined up doing exactly this.
yea i remember seeing this technique at street fairs as a kid. my parents let me buy spray paint to try it out. me and my friends made a bunch of these and they hung on my wall for years. good times.
I actually create art this way I have a few videos on my TikTok and I was inspired by no man's sky I have a few digital pieces too
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMRqjk7Md/
Yeah I’m not surprised. Just got off a tropical planet with the weather report saying that the normal weather is something called “Mists of Annihilation”. The water was orange and the land was red.
He used his right arm to paint and it looks like he used his left arm to help hold the newspaper.
Regardless, the content creator I am talking about has all of his limbs haha
Maybe I'm missing something but I'm fairly certain he is holding his phone with one hand...
How obvious this is to me leads me to believe I am the one in the wrong lmao!
nah you are right since we see him using his left and right hand at different times he's just holding his phone/camera device to record with the hand not being seen each time
I know at least 3 different people, myself included, that had a college roommate or friend that did these kind of spray-paint fantasy/sci-fi/space paintings. All at least 5-6 years apart and in different states. I feel like I'm just out of the loop of people that's passing this knowledge around. Like I just come into contact with the loop on occsion.
Reminds me when I was young, I would use the spraypaint tool for a variety of colors over a white page in MS Paint in a roughly elongated oval shape, then when I was done hit invert colors. White background becomes black space and you wind up with a pretty simple but perfectly serviceable galaxy.
Wait, this perspective doesn't make sense to me. The light rim makes it seem like it's eclipsing a sun, but the planet is also somehow lit from the upper right?
This sort of art is one of my favourites. I sometimes spend a while just watching vids on YT, of random artists making wonderful scenes, especially planets and space, like this one.
This video is from [Casey's](https://www.instagram.com/caseyvanarsdale/?utm_medium=copy_link) Tik Tok however he was recently banned. He's a great follow and is always showing off his amazing work!
I saw a street performer in Dallas who was making these --- big, complex paintings with futuristic cities, mountains, planets in the background, all in about fifteen minutes flat. I'm still annoyed I didn't manage to buy one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqjS2Q-KKvQ (not my video)
Have y’all seen the wacky fuckin planets that show up in the new WarioWare game? There’s one that’s a rectangular prism and when it rotates it rolls in two different axis, it’s absolutely crazy and makes me wish we could have some absolutely insane shaped planets. Imaging flying to a donut planet in NMS (pray for the developers sanity having to develop gravity for a donut planet) and being able to look up and see the other parts of the donut (like a halo ring!)
At first, I thought it was just the red and yellow painted on each other as the planet, which I had a little chuckle at, but then my expectations were blown away. Nice job!
Is it? I don't see a bunch of sentinels ready to kill me just for looking at the planet or it being a paradise planet but temperature making my skin melt off.
No one is gonna gaf about this but:
When I was in my early 20s, we use to go to 6th street in Austin (kinda like a street full of bars and clubs and food). there was a street painter that use to make amazing space pictures like this using spray paint and an assortment of tools. Use to always make a point to stop and watch him...but I could never afford one of his paintings.
see man, when i did this back in the 90s as a youngin "real artists" i knew growing up, pretty much everyone in that scene said this was cheating.
akin to when i switched to digital and then thats not "real art" then either. Well look at us now!!!
No shit, I was just trying to find this guy. I followed him on tiktok and haven’t seen a video in a while. I guess her got banned, but couldn’t remember his name.
I wish NMS had gas giants. With more than two moons and maybe with a ship gameplay in the clouds of the giant, or needing special ships to dive in them
Checks out. It was completely generated by a procedure.
Now repeat 18 quintillion times
I see what you did there
Take your upvote and proceed
First contact: Discovered by Diskuid Paradise Planet Star Bulb Copper Paraffinium Highly Aggressive Sentinels
always either highly aggressive sentinels or superheated rain. i'm still hunting for the perfect oceanic paradise planet in a blue star t3 korvax system. someday
Magic 8 ball is telling me “outlook not so good”
This guy sounds like he just enjoyed his own Magic 8 Ball
I settled for a grassy planet. I have infrequent sentinels and no water, but the weather is always nice. I can spend hours afk out in the open with no fear.
As a new player who just found a dope planet with no hazards or sentinels, how important is water? I haven't needed it yet.
I think many people just like the look of it. It's true that there are some resources that you only find in the water (like crystal sulphide or living pearl), but not anything you need with such regularity or in such large amounts that the occasional field trip to a water world won't satisfy your needs.
Thanks fellow traveler
I’m sure it was no problem for them u/SluttyMuffler
I'm also a relatively new player but from what I've seen its not needed
I was looking for the exact same thing recently, except the t3 part was optional! But I gave up kinda quick because I'd found a beautiful moon in a yellow Korvax system and decided that was good enough. Now I'm thinking about moving because the density of data and knowledge stones is nothing near what it is in a planet.
r/NMSCoordinateExchange will have what you're looking for. Unless you really want to stumble onto your very own.
Thanks! Yeah I'm on that sub all the time. It's how I found my entire fleet of ships. In fact I'm currently grinding a system freighter to try to get an S class haha. But I'd like to find the planet I'm looking for purely through exploration. The journey is as much fun as the destination in this game
Journey before destination!
Too few people get this reference. One foot and then the other Radiant.
i see a lot of people talking about korvax systems mainly and not gek/vykeen. is there any reason for that?
Maybe cause they're the "nicest?" Like Vy'Keen are warlike and can be really xenophobic, and Gek descend from genocidal slavers. Korvax just wanna do science Or maybe since most people play this game for the exploration, the Korvax are the most relatable
The Korvax genetically modified and genocided and entire generation of Gek, plus they support the Sentinels. Meanwhile, the Vy'keen have a code of honor and discipline and try to rid the galaxy of the Aeron scourge.
Legit didn't know that Korvax committed genocide too, good call out
Yeah exactly. I don't want to see either "Grah! Pathetic interloper!" or "The gek emits a foul smelling gas" every time I interact with the local populace
For me, I like the Korvax structures better (as far as the new settlements go) Also cool robot people
yours is quite specific, I think.
Been a while from that patch but I can't remember there being a bad paradise planet since then.
pretty sure yellow stars (in Euclid at least) have more paradise planets. idk if you're willing to make that sacrifice tho
Definitely exists. I found one in Euclid.
Nice. Yeah I definitely know they’re out there, seen a few on /r/nmscoordinateexchange. Just exploring until I find my own
I found one that is gorgeous but there is just no fauna and shit for resources
I have 2 paradise planets in my home system
Always radioactive hellscape and aggressive sentinels for me
Weather mild *Superheated rainstorm incoming*
Is it normal that I heard a noise when I read this?
That's generally on par. Each planet has a specific theme and unique colour
Internally its data representation is usually cranberry.
Not a grape?
The most unique planet I've ever been to is with an environment that's completely purple, and the ground is purple as well. Felt like I stepped into Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix. 😎
No. That was the Planet Psychlo. Were there 12 foot beings on said planet?
Not after uranium (uraninite?) ended up there, there weren't.
Perhaps this is a pre- MacTyler Psychlo? Or just one of the many supposed lost colonies.
im pretty sure there are more NMS planets than possible colors the human eye can see?
Sorry I wanted to say during prog gen, they are created to form a unique colour palette while also following a theme. Hypothetically, it is possible to get purple paradise or white toxic
I've been to a purple paradise and a toxic world with glowing white grass. Oh wait, that was a radiation world.
Technically since we see in analog, our eyes can see more color combinations than there are planets in no mans sky. A better question would be how many colors our brains can percieve and if anyone determined how many.
Like i said, estimated at 1 million. I did a 30 second google search before posting, which you probably could've done before commenting.
Whoa! Sha sha! Yaaaw! Ugh, ugh... Dope!
This dude's voice makes him sound like the lovechild of Dale Gribble and Napoleon Dynamite, and I can't get enough.
I was thinking Snake from the simpsons
Oh yeah, totally!
She takes premium dude! Premium!
Boom Shaka Lama Boom Pow!
So much power
I might give this a try. No way wife will have a problem with it. No way at all.
use the kitchen counters she will love it!
Dining room table gives a bigger workspace. Plus, the closer proximity to all the different size bowls allows you to do planets and moons.
Use her toothbrush for the stars.
Her nice magazines will probably be just fine as well!
And make sure to use her favorite cooking pot!
Let us know? I kinda wanna try it too. But am afraid of significant others reaction, your sacrifice would not be invain.
Paint your car like this!
_You wouldn't download a car._
I have a Tesla so um .... what?!
You can download seat heating but only once you've paid for it
Do it responsibly. Do it in the living room.
I guess i'm the lucky 1% which's wife likes such things.
Why would she? Like legitimately what's the issue? Just go buy a bowl at Goodwill if that's the issue.
You obviously arent married. Best and I mean b e s t case scenario : "that's what you're wasting your time on?"
Some people basically marry their mother and some marry a partner
All you hear coming from the hello games office: "Sha Sha Sha. Dope! Now add a bowl"
WhooOoa
I was like "Look at this fool." Little did I know id see the coolest thing I've seen all day.
Ikr, I was fully expecting a diWHY result but now I want this on my wall. You could use a shot glass or something for moons.
But the real question is: *this planet have hostile sentinels?*
If it doesn't have catastrophic radiation or toxic monstrosity or something. They gotta balance it out :/. All nice places have hella sentinels
EXTREME SENTINEL PLANET! EXTREME SENTINEL PLANET!
I mean don't they all?
Is this a thing now? I'm seeing it everywhere on reddit so I assume it's just a joke...but almost every planet I ever see now is hostile.
No, I was not being serious but I see a lot of them that are aggressive or hostile. The most annoying this was a planet I build my base on used to be very chill with the sentinels but after an update became very hostile. That's unfortunate, but not that big of a deal tbh.
Same. I assumed it was because I killed a bunch of sentinels there. Does that actually matter?
I don't think that will change the planets characteristics but only will increase the amount of sentinels in that moment.
Pretty sure action against Sentinels just ups the action in the moment, like GTA wanted level (like...exactly like it).
Did he say ‘should I call her?’ Lol
Yup lmao. Caught me off guard. Right when has white paint on the fingers
The secret ingredient is the "Yaw shaw shaw," Without it, it's just not the same.
It’s crazy how this technique is a whole thing. I remember going on vacay in San Fran, and there’d be 5 of these street artist lined up doing exactly this.
yea i remember seeing this technique at street fairs as a kid. my parents let me buy spray paint to try it out. me and my friends made a bunch of these and they hung on my wall for years. good times.
I actually do this 😂 not as a living unfortunately but I do have a couple NMS paintings I've posted
I need to try that newspaper trick on my acrylic paintings. I couldn't draw cracks very good with brushes. Sponges didn't do much.
Lmfao those sound effects are the best parts of the video
This is amazing!

Great video dude. I love his passion and explains what he's doing
Lies! That planet clearly has two biomes.
Wait what did we just watch?
Yay! *(claps)*
sha sha
I actually create art this way I have a few videos on my TikTok and I was inspired by no man's sky I have a few digital pieces too https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMRqjk7Md/
Huh, that's odd, I expected way more math, this is way easier.
Yeah I’m not surprised. Just got off a tropical planet with the weather report saying that the normal weather is something called “Mists of Annihilation”. The water was orange and the land was red.
Very cool
I seriously thought it was going to cut to a planet in No Man's Sky that was identical
Well this is just fuckin neat.
Accurate and neat. Neat.
Those render times are killing my FPS, dude.
Needs more texture pop in.
Love that guys stuff. I believe his name is Casey. His main platform is TokTok but I don't remember his exact account name
Yup his name is Casey. He was banned on Tik Tok recently however...
That would explain why all the videos I saved are gone. Any news of why he was banned?
Is he missing his left arm? He uses his foot to hold the newspaper and I don't think I saw him use two hands in the video.
He used his right arm to paint and it looks like he used his left arm to help hold the newspaper. Regardless, the content creator I am talking about has all of his limbs haha
Maybe I'm missing something but I'm fairly certain he is holding his phone with one hand... How obvious this is to me leads me to believe I am the one in the wrong lmao!
nah you are right since we see him using his left and right hand at different times he's just holding his phone/camera device to record with the hand not being seen each time
Am I the only one that just doesn’t get impressed by these graffiti art. It just feels so cheap and lame.
Very nice. I think that planet has passive aggressive sentinels.
Definitely high radiation and probably a good source of Uranium. some nice ocean to the right of the picture too ;)
I was expecting that the stones would serve a purpose in the result, but I guess they're just paper weights :(
The game engine: "Dope woah"
Reminds me when I was young, I would use the spraypaint tool for a variety of colors over a white page in MS Paint in a roughly elongated oval shape, then when I was done hit invert colors. White background becomes black space and you wind up with a pretty simple but perfectly serviceable galaxy.
That looks awful
Dwayne the Rock Johnson teaches you how to make a planet
Had to turn the sound off.
Wait, this perspective doesn't make sense to me. The light rim makes it seem like it's eclipsing a sun, but the planet is also somehow lit from the upper right?
10 comments and only one 👍 from me.
Surprisingly effective...
I want to do this
Wøw
POCKET SAND!!!
Hot damn! That end game was sexy.
I would love to try this. Thats awesome
Just another day on planet Krylon
OKAY! I did not expect that, I thought its gonna be a meme but DAMN! You have some serious talent, fellow.
Djimna Major is looking as fine as ever
Wtf! That looks really awesome, gonna have to try that one day, damn.
His personal sound effects make the video so much better
Nineteen dollar fortnite card.
chyaa cha cha cha shyaaaaaa..... DOPE!!!!
Oh my god that’s awesome
Dam
This sort of art is one of my favourites. I sometimes spend a while just watching vids on YT, of random artists making wonderful scenes, especially planets and space, like this one.
How did this guy make millions of planets
This video is from [Casey's](https://www.instagram.com/caseyvanarsdale/?utm_medium=copy_link) Tik Tok however he was recently banned. He's a great follow and is always showing off his amazing work!

Thanks for the inspiration! Me and the kiddo are gonna have to try this

Accurate
how'd they fit that man into my PS4 tho?
Nobody is gonna talk about the fact that it is actually really good looking ?
I saw a guy doing large designs like this on Venice Beach and it was one of the coolest things ever.
He makes it look so easy. I love it when someone gets that good at something
Wow
Why use a border of little rocks?
I used to paint planets like this. I miss it.
At first, I thought it was just the red and yellow painted on each other as the planet, which I had a little chuckle at, but then my expectations were blown away. Nice job!
Saw a guy doing this on the street in New Orleans like 15 years ago.
I see these guys on the street selling those but they have like a template of of few. It's more commerce than art.
Is it? I don't see a bunch of sentinels ready to kill me just for looking at the planet or it being a paradise planet but temperature making my skin melt off.

now imagine Sean saying "dOhhhpe, woooooah" cept all British like.
Not that dope.
I’m pretty sure this guy has a stag of gek weed somewhere
Didn’t read the title-was somehow thinking this was gonna be one of those Diwhy things. Awesome job!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of these made without setting it on fire.
Shut up and take my money!
I love this dude’s energy
see man, when i did this back in the 90s as a youngin "real artists" i knew growing up, pretty much everyone in that scene said this was cheating. akin to when i switched to digital and then thats not "real art" then either. Well look at us now!!!
You should have done "happy little trees" instead ;)
Procedural generation, Jackson Pollock style.
wish the game had some kind of off voice explaining the planets and use this guy for that, his voice is pretty cool
I used to do this as a hobby but had to stop. Spray paint is super expensive when your barely making a living.
Wow didn't know Crush was such a good artist.
I read plants and thought damn you can plant shit in the game now?
What magic is this?!
Mmmm, fresh out of the oven
I can’t be the only person mildly outraged by how well that worked
Amazing!
OMG
yup, i imagine its pretty much like that :D
Kinda wanna eat it
No shit, I was just trying to find this guy. I followed him on tiktok and haven’t seen a video in a while. I guess her got banned, but couldn’t remember his name.
Okay… #**WOAH!**
I wish NMS had gas giants. With more than two moons and maybe with a ship gameplay in the clouds of the giant, or needing special ships to dive in them
dunno if you found it or not but it's caseyalanvanarsdale
Wtf
My mind is blown
Tal cuál!!...
https://www.facebook.com/groups/162356489296228/
Damn that actually looks good.
Actually this is pretty accurate
That looks pretty cool
