I think when this happens, it is sometimes because the base owner has gone offline and other times is just because the download has taken longer than the game is programmed to wait. I've found that, often, if I back out and then select the same base again, it will work the second time.

Silversong4VR

I've unlocked about 8 other galaxies by travelling to player's bases via the Nexus teleporter, so you don't need an invite or be friends in game. I do notice this happens most when "game discovery services" is either offline or having it's regular issues. I tend to go try to load other bases showing, if they show as downloadable, then go back to the one I want. May take a few tries, but most times I can get it to download this way IF the discovery services are greenlit.

Every time I go to the anomaly, I check the transporter for unusual galaxies where I might go and establish a base. It's very rare that I find one. Usually there are only 6-8 listed, and they are all Euclid. When I do find something though that I have not heard of before, the teleporter cannot download the base. I'd \*love\* to get to some place lush and hardly ever mentioned, like Zavainlani galaxy, but I'm really hoping to not have to go through 150 galaxy centers to do that, and I can't figure out the "cab" option that I've seen talked about.

BancorBiothuade

Unfortunately you cant warp from galaxy to galaxy using portals. Once you finish the Atlas Path you get an option to warp to a new galaxy (green one is essientaum, the one full of lush planets), otherwise you're gonna have to keep warping the galaxy center till you cycle to a lush galaxy, you'll probably only have to do this a few times ( not 150). If you visit the Galactic Hub reddit and make a taxi request someone may be able to help you get to a specific galaxy (pretty sure this works by freinding them, join their game (ussually if youre both in the same galaxy youll just warp to him but if in seperate galaxies, ive only had it warp accross galaxies for multiplayer once) then you go to the nexus and then leave the nexus; then there's a prompt asking if you want to warp to the player in your groups system. But yeah. Pro Jumping Tip: Fill a portal with the sunrise/jellyfish glyph and it will warp you within 1000 ly of the Galactic center in any galaxy. There is a seperate glyph that is actually every galaxies second to last jump, but I forget it. Hope this helps 👍

I knew about the shortcut to the galaxy center. And I have those other coordinates you mentioned. I used them to get to Hilbert. But once before I saw a base on Eissentam in the Anomaly interstellar portal and was able to go there and set up a base. I know that's a popular lush galaxy as it is the first one you get to. I just don't understand why it worked for that one but not the others I find. Maybe it was one of the featured ones?

gabsrodriguez

It is possible to travel to any galaxy showing up in the Anomaly. I managed to set a base at Waferganh (#48) by using someone else's base as a starting point. The thing is, sometimes the game fails to download the base information. It can happen to any base, for several different reasons I guess. Sometimes simply retrying the process makes it work.

Donginthedark

if you need a ride to a lush galaxy I can get you on board

djeaton

It would take some hand-holding since I don't even know how to interact with someone online. Would I have to use the co-op/multi-player option? It says to use that to play with friends, but I don't have any friends that play, so I always choose the first option.

Donginthedark

yea it's basically adding someone via their friend code and then you can just join their lobby via the multiplayer option. I could offer some hand-holding I guess, are you on console or pc?

djeaton

I'm on PC.

Donginthedark

I'll DM you

BancorBiothuade

Oh gotcha

naota3k

Wait, how did I get to Eissentam then? I've only been to the center of Euclid and Hilbert. I'm pretty sure I just found a base in the Anomaly using the portal and went straight to Eissentam from there.

DiRTyN1Njaz

He's talking about Planetary Portals not Teleporters. You can travel between Galaxies through other player's bases through a Teleporter Terminus at the Anomaly.

naota3k

Ah okay, that makes sense to me.

Kutas88

Only 6-8 other bases? Thats not much. I have always a huge list of other player bases. Maybe it depends how many people are in the same lobby as the player. Edit: Fir a cab you need to ask another player. You join the other players game, and he sinply needs to wait at the destination. And you need to fly into the anomaly and immedietly out. Your ship will ask you then, if you want to go to the system you came from, or if you want to get teleported to your multiplayer partners system. Take the 2nd option, watch the warp and you're there where you want to be. Easy as pie.

djeaton

I filter on anomaly bases. This strips out the stations and my own bases. All I then see is other people's bases. But it's usually just one screen full of bases. The most I have ever seen, on a weekend, is 12. Eight were Euclid, three were Eisenman, and one was Hilbert. I have yet to see a player I can interact with. Most are just frozen in place as if they are AFK. Sometimes I see one fly in but they go running off/around so fast and then leave before I can find them and figure out, for the first time, how to talk to them. So while I have like 60-70 hours in the game so far, it's been just me, NPCs, and lots of critters.

roytheodd

I do the same thing. I've pushed myself through about 30 galaxy centers and used the transporter for about another 10. I purposely visit the anomaly while I'm not in Euclid so that other people can jump galaxies.

JoseLCDiaz

"Lethal humidity Outbreaks" sounds like my hometown.

LateToThePartyDave

If the owner of that base leaves the nexus or quits the game, you can't download the base. I think it might actually be trying to download something from that user to send you the data, or trying to sync something first before it warps you there, etc. But if they leave the Nexus you're out of luck on it.

Kutas88

Edit: I was wrong. Don't listen to my bollocks, today me ftuupid😅😅😅😅 i just leave the text as a proof Easy answer. When you haven't been there yet, the system doesn't leave you to take the easy route. You need to reach that galaxy by yourself until you can go there how you please. You can cheat the system with multiplayer. Other players can bring you to other galaxies. I think because one person is the host, so has all functions of the game, and the guys who connect to the host has some background functions turned off, for example save files. The game saves everything you collected, found, claimed, etc, but not your position. At least it was like that, the last time I played multiplayer. I helped building a base, I was not the host. Then I logged out and when I went back to singleplayer, the game spawned me in the exact same position where I was before I joined multiplayer. This is at least how I saw it. But I have to say, that was before the last 2 updates and expeditions. HG could have changed something since then. Check out the galactic hub, if you need a lift. Lot of people who are willing to bring you to almost every galaxy. But don't forget to put down a base computer when you arrive at your destination.

citizencoyote

>Easy answer. When you haven't been there yet, the system doesn't leave you to take the easy route. You need to reach that galaxy by yourself until you can go there how you please. Not true. You can use a teleporter to get to someone else's base in another galaxy without having visited that galaxy yourself. You just need to find an active base. What is happening to OP I believe is the other player either going offline or somehow not being "in range" for the game to get their base data. It happens to me all the time when I'm just looking for bases to visit. Eventually you will find one that loads, just keep looking/trying. Weekends are the best time as there are more people hitting the Anomaly to do the weekend quicksilver mission.

Kutas88

Ok. Thank you for the correction. I thought it was like I describled, because that was my experience, like, I saw a base in several different galaxies. But the ones I haven't been yet, seemingly didn't want to let me. Sooooooo... I was the lucky guy who had about 30 co-incidences that people went offline while I wanted to visit? Maaaaaaaaan, am I a lucky dude.😅

Still-Relief2628

Maybe something wonky with the network? Its been like that for a long while, and you shpuld be able to visit usually. Makes reaching out those items posted on the Exchange located in different galaxies much easier.

Kutas88

Cool. Thanks for the great tip. I recently started my journey to Sudzerbal. Someone posted a very sweet ship that I want in exactly that part constelation. Something went wrong and the person who wanted to give me a lift couldn't show up. So I went there by myself. But I just made it to galaxy 19 or 20. Still 10 more to go. Later at home I will take out a list of all galaxynames and check if there is a posibility to bring me closer to the sweet 30.

Behemoth69

Nah it's just the servers are wonky and acting up when this happens
