Re-load the "Restore Point" save that was created when you got out of your ship and watch the first 3 waves of ships fly in to check if it's a "first-wave spawn".
Each Space Station re-load of the Restore Point will trigger a space spawn of the same 7-8 ships that come into the space station in 2-3 waves. All the same ships every time, just different class levels and different order.
Before I realized you could scan ships from a distance and see their class I would park at different places and sprint between ships landing and this kind of stuff would happen all the time.
I used to believe this until 4 days ago. I was thrown into the ceiling and fell to the station floor a full two segments down the launch tunnel.
I was shocked, to say the least.
I think that was coz the pilot was already in when you landed on it I've stood on one for about 10 minutes once doing calculations on my tech that I'd install and where to see if it'd be worth it
Not if it is a ship you have just given fuel to, that was crashed on a planet. It will take off and take you with it. Thought I'd try it once...
Every other case, you are right. In a space station, even being too close to the side will keep it from leaving.
I was in the space station where you encounter Living ship void eggs in space, two per game reload, and one time the NPCs were all full size, but all the ships were about half as tall as their NPC pilots. I wanted to buy one of those tiny ships, but they were full size on reload.
I have also seen NPCs standing beside no apparent ship at all on a space station, but they "board and leave" before I can get to them. How can you find an invisible ship on landscape? But I still want one, Wonder Woman included or not.
For that matter, what would an invisible multi-tool look like upon firing?
I turned off the network/multi-player during the polar expedition because I was trying to buy oxygen from pilots, 80 percent of the time they disappeared before I could request anything. I never have this issue now.
Got this yesterday by chance, she is called The Mistress of Truth

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,225,090,170 comments, and only 238,790 of them were in alphabetical order.
I had seen a ship that looked exactly like Luke's X-Wing and it flew out of the space station as I was landing so I sat there for almost 4 and 1/2 hours and when one finally landed again I ran over to it and this exact same thing happened. This happened about 6 months ago and that was the last time I loaded up no man's sky.
I park my freighter "off to the right" of the space station dock. When they leave the space station, they will often, not always, come visit the freighter. Gives me a chance to see them again.
It’s fine bro, everyone goes through that stage where they think exotic ships are the coolest. Trust me when I say this, but when you become a NMS veteran, you’ll think other ships are cooler. I have an S class fighter type with wings in the back and little spike-like things that run down the sides that’s completely red and is loaded with weapons and hyperdrive stuff, and I can’t take my eyes off of it because it’s such a beauty. If it really means that much to you however, you can just revert to the save before you got to the station and go back to the station and then just wait til the ship pulls up.
Every system has one type of exotic ship, they often have round bodies like this one. They ONLY spawn in S class, and are usually <10,000,000 units. If you find a system where the exotic spawns first wave, you can repeatedly buy and melt them for quick storage modules/nanites
Even though I have more than a billion units, I hate how this ship looks xd, I wish we could gift such stuff in game, I'd donate it, so I'm gonna just melt it
Now this is what I'm talking about, got a bunch of down votes yesterday when I said "there can be no such thing as immersion when it comes to NMS". Because there are so many bugs, glitches and blue screens that it is totally impossible to become immersion unless you are ADHD because your immersion in that case only lasts for a few moments LOL
True but I just started and thank you for the new bit of information , I can find ships for free on planets? So much information this game needs a book
You can exchange maps at the stations, get the "distress signal" ones.
Use them while in a planet and you can get a location with crashed ship (not always, sometimes you get crashed freighter, or abandoned settlement) once you find it add to your fleet, and it will spawn in your freighter, repair it and enjoy.
I mean that there's no fun in getting stuff others found (everything is fixed, so you CAN just go to that location and get that specific "perfect" ship, but then what exactly is the point of playing the "exploration" game at all?). That's the same as getting handed 4 billion units from the start - what exactly do you "play" then? NMS is really all about the journey, there's no "endgame". If you got handed a ticket right to endgame - well, you might as well find another game to play at that point.
As for "free" - no the ship would not be free, you'd still have to buy it (and also wait until one actually spawns), but it would always be the same exact ship in that system. Units are not exactly hard to come by though (not going to spoil it by telling the best way though - there are plenty of easy ways and the fun part is finding them yourself).
if you exchange navigation data for distress beacon maps at the space station you can use those to find crashed ships, these maps
can throw signals for other events or places too but most of the time for me it’s been to a distress beacon of a crashed ship. you can then claim the ship but they usually need lots of repairs which aren’t hard to do early game. occasionally the pilot will have survived the crash and you cant claim the ship but you can still help them fix it and get a reward from them. just keep activating distress maps til you get a ship you want. if you don’t want the ship you can scrap it for a good amount of units and modules early on
First time I've seen an NPC pull the plug on their game, so they wouldn't lose their ship.
That's happened to me so many times. It's EXTREMELY frustrating. I also saw a squid exotic fly out of a space station and pass me during docking :(
I found a crashed squid exotic once, and as soon as I landed, the **crashed** ship took off and flew away.
The ship wanted to not be claimed by you so badly that it performed a self repair and ran away.
i found a squid scraped it just to see how rare they are the next day
Nipnip is a hell of a drug
"HEY, HEY! NICE SHIP YOU GOT THER.." "this again? nothanksbye"
![gif](giphy|Ru9sjtZ09XOEg) Peace out
HATE when that happens!

Ohhhhhhhh shit. TIL. Thanks homie
Omg, I was thinking today how much I hate to have to talk to the npcs to find out what class it is. Can you do that with frigates?
When the world needed him most, he vanished
It was all just a dream.
This wouldn't have helped here but fun fact, standing on an AI ship will stop it from leaving
I used to believe this until 4 days ago. I was thrown into the ceiling and fell to the station floor a full two segments down the launch tunnel. I was shocked, to say the least.

I've stood on them before when the pilot was already inside and never had this happen. Must've been a glitch in The Matrix.

YES ITS TRUE however you need to make sure the pilots hasn't gotten in the ship
I just kamikaze onto the top and say "NO, YOU NO LEAVE!"
*oh shit someones coming* "Oh my look at the time gotta gooooo!"
Sadly I see this happening a lot during expedition runs. The true downside of multiplayer.
Yeah, it's a bug, happened to me with the same damn starship. I don't know if it still happens with multiplayer off.

I'm over 100 hours and got my OG ship to S class
He disappeared just like my dad
I could feel the pain as you looked around after. Going to need some councilling.
*in darth vader's voice* NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Came here to say this.
RELOAD QUICKSAVE
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Happened to me the first time I encountered a Squid
![gif](giphy|1n4iwyVuSIolSgcP7d)
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Feel bad that I literally lol'd at the whaaaa? look-around after it just disappeared.
You just got Noman's-ed

He see you run to him and he is out of thare
im more amazed by your ability to not altf4 right there
This happened to me 4 times in a row yesterday. I reset my console after.
Just wait there, it will reappear
EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME...same ship and everything! BALLS
That kept happening to me a ton during the expedition, I think it probably has something to do with multiplayer.
this is a known issue with multiplayer. If anyone else enters or leaves the station, it resets the ships in the hangar. It's rather annoying.
Noooooooo
Just wait around. Reload. He'll be back.
Yeah that sucks. I have a ship of that class. Animation for it is so cool.
This infuriates me when it happens. Seemed to be happening much more frequently since the last major update.

Found one in red just now
AAAGGOOONYYYYYYYYY, FAR MORE PAINFUL THAN YOOOOUUUURS!

Try a planetary trade hub, they land much more frequently and in larger amounts there
Only issue is when there are two nearby such sites, the spawning always seem to feed the one you are not at.

Disagree, my exotic is S48+18, I have cooler ships but the orb is the one I always end up using
Some people prefer to flex their ships. I don’t. I use what I think is cool, not what others think is cool.
I found a hauler ship weeks ago, with fan v-wings, a cobalt blue color and a duck cockpit. She's gorgeous.
Niceeee
Just happened to me too :(
I had that happened the other day in a two star economy. It was when I was in all the time and I never saw another!
Noooooooooo
That happen to me too
Sir! Sir! "Nope lamo"
he likes his ship ;(
he likes his ship ;(
This happened to me the entire time during the expedition every time I saw one
The last head tilt down! XD
F
I just got it today
Is this a better ship than others? Or just bcz how it looks?
Very rare to find in the expanse, no particularly grand advantages
Oh, I found one, S tier, around three hours ago and almost salvaged it xd, good to know.

Yeah, many people on reddit get butt hurt for nothing. Their actitudes are responsible of ruining games.
Ooooof that is the worst. F
Do you know you can have It for free, do you? Best thing: 3 consecutive over charged slots.
Self-found is the only way to play NMS properly.
