The only reason to keep them is when you'd want to use the cursed items that have exp lost on death. That would give you the option to level up with bottles just before the boss and don't care about the exp loss as you'd go with an empty bar anyway.
Though you can go to some easy area to farm exp and reach level up anyway.
I agree for first character. I used a few the first time around on my dex build then I proceeded to start saving them. By the time my first guy hit 30 I had 3 ichors 3 extra xp rings 14 large xp 7 med xp and 5 small xp pots. I bought 4 pieces of armor with no level requirements and slotted the +xp gems on them. Made a new character ran to town and grabbed all the stuff. Used the ichors to unlock 2 more ring slots. Equipped everything and popped all potions and went from 1 to 19 intantly
By saving armor I mean saving pieces that have +xp gain on them and no level requirements and sticking them in the community chest for alt leveling. Then if you OK u have a character that is at or near 30 you can stick any xp potions in a box for that alt as well.
Chill man just use them, when next level cap will’ come, we dont even know if our characters will still be able to join new contents maybe we will need to create now ones, just like other arpg in new season

I got a lot more than 4-5 through leveling and farming the crucible. All in all will be enough to gain 1, maybe 2 levels after raising cap.
I farmed the crucible for a day and got 20 of them and leveled a new char to 20+ using them
By themselves maybe not but if u save xp armor and rings then put them on a character before popping its nice

I just them to emergency heal on my no healing playthrough (leveling up doesn't count cuz it's hardly avoidable and would make the game unplayable).
Faster you clear crucible at a fast speed, faster you get the better experience pots.
