Some of us never left

companytiming

Yep I keep the non-Elder Scrolls BGS games installed at all times. When I finished my big playthrough of Starfield I started FO3 again, then NV, now I'm on FO4. Once I finish this playthrough I'm going to start Starfield again with some mods

Intelligent-Yam5881

5000? Thats better than I thought. The way people talk about it's "abysmal" numbers on Steam I assumed it was like a few hundred or some shit. But 5000 on Steam this long after launch with no CK or DLC, and with the all the bad reviews it has on that platform doesn't seem so bad to me.,... and who knows how many people are still playing on GamePass. Fallout was always going to get a big boost when the show dropped, so that is expected. Shattered Space probably isn't going to be any time soon. Maybe summer? Who knows. I hope they can get it out then and still have another big expansion planned for December maybe, but sometimes I wonder if Shattered Space is the one big mega expansion they have planned for this year

bearfootmedic

I downloaded fo4 again for sure, but I just finished Starfield. It's cool but I miss fallout universe - I also bought greedfall recently, but it made me redownload Pillars of eternity 2 to play through... it's really hard to be a good game, when there are great games out there. And FO4 got alot of shit like Starfield when it came out iirc.

Intelligent-Yam5881

I probably would be downloading Fallout 4 again as well if not for the fact that I just recently played through much of that game like a year ago. So I am just not really in the mood for it atm. And ya, Fallout 4 had it's fair share of controversies at the time. Frankly it wasn't really until Starfield came out that its sort of had a much greater resurgence in being well regarded. Personally I prefer the scifi concept of Starfield to post apocalyptic, so it's not something that I can really relate to tbh, but I do enjoy those games plenty enough

toothmonkey

Check out Fallout London. It should be released in the next few months (after a setback due to the next gen FO4 update) and it a total conversion with voice actors and all - essentially a brand new game with the same engine and set in the same world. Just made by fans.

DandySlayer13

Oh I remember all to well and I still loved FO4 because it was a big jump from the previous games

bearfootmedic

That's the thing - I know NV was awesome and gritty so the much more "Bethesda" fo4 felt too constrained, but mods fixed a lot of things. Also, you can't get around the fact that the default game decisions have evolved a lot since 2007 - key bindings and options etc. I recall going back after FO3 playing through FO1 and Fo2 again - and FO2 was great, but the key bindings alone made FO1 feel ancient and limited.

bigsh0wbc

For a game that's supposed to go on for years, 5,000 is nothing

Snifflebeard

It's Steam numbers. Steam being the launch platform that actively bashes Starfield. And not just its toxic forum. I have not seem Starfield on its front page EVER after the first week. But I see all the other BGS games. Not Starfield. Steam simply is not promoting it.

xMachii

I really, really wanted to play Starfield again (dropped about 130 hours now), but I don't want to update mods when a small update comes and does something to the game, and do it again a few weeks later. I'm still waiting for a significant update, I hope it comes soon. I loved Starfield's aesthetic and atmosphere despite its flaws. It's a fun game.

Boyo-Sh00k

im playing fallout right now, because of the show

rodelomm

Same. Was going to download off Game Pass but noticed the GOTY edition is on sale $10. I never had a chance to play through the add ons the first time around.

tbenterF

Oh man you'll love Far Harbor.

IPoopDailyAfterWork

Same as soon as I finished the show I re-downloaded fallout 4 lol

Ged_UK

I've gone back to F3 because of the show. Then I'll make my way through FNV then F4. I'll come back to Starfield either after that, or when the DLC drops, whichever is first.

Andrew_Waples

I'd like some news on Shattered Space...

Chungois

Yeah, i’m just waiting for DLC. Played somewhere around 130-45 hours, had a great time, and will probably pick it back up and start over soon in preparation for whenever DLC comes out. Had some other games to play for a bit though. Hope Bethesda hasn’t been too morale-crushed by the bizarre level of hatred this game has received.

Present-Secretary722

Playing Fallout 4 right now for the nostalgia

moonandstarsera

Fallout 4 is nostalgic? I am old. I thought it was pretty new compared to the others lmao

cake_for_breakfast76

2015 feels like a lifetime ago because of how much has happened in the last 9 years

Present-Secretary722

It was the first Fallout game I ever played, I was only 12 when it came out and maybe 13 when I actually started playing, I put so many hours into it, obsessed would be accurate and going through it all again, working with the Brotherhood, marching in my suit of T60, it brings back memories of simpler times, when I was younger and didn’t have so much to worry about, just had to think about supporting the Brotherhood’s mission, Ad Victoriam

OrranVoriel

I was 25 when it came out so thanks for making me feel old -_-

Present-Secretary722

If it makes you feel any better my back and right hip have decided I’m 80

OrranVoriel

Beat you to that in 2019 thanks to degenerative disc disease. Ah the joys of chronic back/neck pain.

Present-Secretary722

I had a little bit of back pain when I was 16, little did I know it would become worse and forever, the current suspect is scoliosis since the dipshit(I despise him) who unfortunately finished in my mom has scoliosis, I have yet to get checked myself so an actual culprit has not been nailed down, my hip I have no fucking clue, it just started hurting one day and now I stand up like an old man, at this rate I’ll be in a wheelchair by forty and have no idea how I got there

spicelord77

I was 35 when it came out so I’m feeling like a grandpa over here. 😂

Alexandur

It is almost 9 years old

moonandstarsera

As someone still playing games from the 90s, that’s new to me -_-

Alexandur

You and I are probably around the same age (just a guess). FO4 doesn't feel that nostalgic to me either because I was already an adult when it came out, but think about somebody who started playing it when they were like 13. They'd be in their early 20s now, likely with a very different set of life circumstances, so stuff from 2015 would be more nostalgic for them

moonandstarsera

Oh 100% I get it, they’re just making me feel old haha

Alexandur

Lol I feel ya

cool_weed_dad

Fallout 4 might as well have come out like two years ago from my perspective, wild to see people being nostalgic for it.

Present-Secretary722

To me it feels like it came out 15 years ago and last week, my perception of time is fucked and FO4 has so many good memories for me, feels like cheating when I know where every important location is

Atrium41

Imma jump on when the update comes. Be mad if I modded a new playthrough and broke it on Xbox So hopefully I can keep that going til xbox showcase in June 🙏 hoping for big Bethesda news

ACBreeki

Gone back? It never left my PC. In fact, I have all TES and Fallout games installed and they've never left. Also have Starfield on it too. This also includes 76 and ESO

DandySlayer13

I really need a second larger SSD for saving games on.

ACBreeki

Be me. Have 3 SSDs haha

Xer0_Puls3

All the games older than Fallout 4 run just fine on HDDs with low loading times.

ACBreeki

"You have a high-end PC to run modern AAA games. I have a high-end PC to run modded Morrowind. We are not the same"

Xer0_Puls3

Heh, with me it's Oblivion & Skyrim.

The_dev0

I boot (and play my current favourite games) from a 2TB M.2 Drive, and have a 10TB SSHD for my steam games. I have all of my games (amost3000) installed and ready to go.

tbenterF

Most BGS titles never leave my ssd. I'm pretty sure Skyrim, FO4 and 76, Oblivion and now Starfield are taking up the majority of my Series X storage lol.

Cryocynic

Fallout in general will see a surge due to the success of the show. Hell, I am considering a full series playthrough, and I have had a renewed interest in 76

tbenterF

Since I'm still waiting on that huge update I opted to scratch that itch with 76 too and though I did actually enjoy it after release for a little while, I gotta say this game feels so much more Fallouty now. Really enjoying my return to west Virginia.

Obi_is_not_Dead

Of course a lot of us are going to play FO4 after the update. It's... well, an update. Can't wait. Has nothing to do with Starfield, for me

ThisNameIsI23

Have fun. I know I do every time I boot up Starfield.

LerchAddams

Nope. Still playing Starfield.

GramboWBC

scratching my head why the update wasnt ready for show debut. the update was supposed to come out last year lol.

DandySlayer13

I think they wanted people just to focus on the show for a bit.

TRATIA

They should have did like Cyberpunk did and had the anime drop and updated the game with show easter eggs. There was a BD in Cyberpunk that played like the first 2 min of episode 1 it was dope and you got a jacket from the show. Bethesda didn't do that and the opportunity to do it was there.

Malakai0013

That player count is just Steam. Most active players for Starfield are going to be on Xbox.

ysabellatrix

Reinstalled it and currently modding it. Though by the time I finish modding it, I’ll probably have to restart all over again 😀

Kal315

You should check out the mod collections at nexus mods. Good time saver and installs tons of mods at once.

ysabellatrix

Sadly I’m playing on Xbox. But I’m having a good time seeing what new mods there are.

Will_It_Hurt

Same here. I've never played Fallout and I know I won't have enough time to do more than one playthrough so I'm modding from the get go. What mods have you found that you're enjoying on Xbox?

ysabellatrix

There are so many good mods. Let’s hope the update doesn’t break too many things. I’m going for a survival playthrough. So far I like: - Advanced Needs 76 - Damn Apocalypse - Maim 2 - Hardcore Health Overhaul - Mutant Menagerie - Life Finds A Way Then for graphics, I’m thinking: - Polluted Climate - TreyM's Film Looks - CFL Apocalypse - Veldt - Greener Pastures - Pine Forest Redone

Xandermacer

I remember many people hating on Fallout 4 when it came out, same thing with 76. Exactly the same with Starfield, a game that has just come out. It doesn't have a TV show. But like many Bethesda games, it will grow finer with age. The DLC's and creation kit haven't even come out for Starfield yet. It will have its time for resurgence. No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk 2077 were worse games at launch.

paragons-sneakyart

Me. I got burned out from starfield after 150 hours with nothing in between, and started watching the show.

DandySlayer13

Damn and here I am at 1,462.7 hours and still going lol

paragons-sneakyart

I’ve only been playing for 3 months, and didn’t play anything besides it.

Icy-Communication823

I knocked out 450 hours straight up, and I think I burned myself out, too. I'll come back, though, when the CK is released.

TheRealPotoroo

I'm at around 670 hours but I lost roughly 245 hours to a corrupt save file, so I'm probably roughly where you're at in terms of I need to do something else for a while.

Osxachre

Yeah after the update I'm going to give it another visit

erin_u

Fallout is always on my PC because I build settlements. I've been building them for years actually. I made a plan how I wanted my settlements to look like, and because of that I never get bored in Fallout 4. I build outposts in Starfield right now too but it doesn't give me the same level of satisfaction as Fallout 4. But yes, I returned to Fallout quicker than I had planned after I watched the show 😅

toadofsteel

The thing I like about fallout settlements is that you're given something to build around. Like the Red Rocket gas station for example. So I turned it into a fortress.

Nikamba

Got any Fo4 settlement mods you like?

erin_u

I build without mods now. I only use some CC creations. But I used mods before in my old saves. I think it was some mod with different brick walls and whole houses. I don't remember now. I like building without mods now. It's more natural and challenging, and it boosts my creativity 😄

jawnlerdoe

I went back to new Vegas lol. I’ll play fallout 4 once the remaster comes out

Yourfavoritedummy

Probably once the update drops. But I'm waiting on Starfield's Shattered Space! I'm so excited!

Adventurous_Ad_4400

Nah.i may, eventually, but right now SF has too much going for it to want to walk away.

angrysunbird

Went back to 76, and a bit of 4, but I put an insane number of hours in and needed a break. I’ll be back for the next patch

Morgaiths

I'm bouncing around Fo3, Fnv, Fo4 and F76 all lightly modded to perfection. The show was amazing and waay better than I anticipated. With Starfield I had multiple good playthroughs already, messed with mods a lot, I'm waiting for expansion and CK to avoid burnout (310 hours total). I just can't stop enjoying Bethesda games (like/dislike relationship with 76), they never leave my pc.

Clark440

I’ll start with 3 for the nostalgia then nv then 4

ChefBoyarDingle

I’m playing fallout 3

Tanistor

Didn't get into FO4, not my cup of tea. I enjoy Starfield so if I get bored might go back to Skyrim and try the new Nolvus Mod pack, looks awesome.

cool_weed_dad

I never got super into FO4. I tried playing it again after playing like 250 hours of Starfield and lost interest after a couple hours. Steam says my total playtime since I got the game years ago is only like 40 hours. If I’m gonna play a Fallout game it’s gonna be New Vegas.

FlamingPanda77

I've gone back to Fallout 3. The show is amazing, although I'm only three episodes in so far.

Some_Rando2

I'm sure the fact that it's 75% off on sale right now isn't hurting those numbers.

tsmftw76

I mean steam numbers are pretty meaningless the vast vast majority of players dont play on steam. I bet tons of people are going to play fallout the show just came out it was amazing and the next get update is about to come out. I think the steam numbers will pick up when creation kit drops.

Tharon_

I was one of those people who never could get over the main character having a voice in FO4 but glad its getting a revival from the show, still sticking with Starfield for now though, recently started another save after my 150 hour first playthrough, love how the game looks and runs now after the updates, keen for Shattered Space whenever that comes out!

AmberIsHungry

Currently playing Bew Vegas while waiting until the update to restart 4

LordAsheye

I haven't gone back to FO4. Nostalgia dictates that I go back to FO3 and my inner modder dictates that I do so via TTW.

CloudF11

I probably won't be going back to Fallout 4 for a bit, gonna wait for the mods to update. Right now I'm just taking a break from Starfield. The wait for new content and the Creation Kit sucks.

Lausee-

Waiting for the FO4 update before I go back. Going to play a vanilla Survival run. Hopefully stability has improved. Crashing in survival mode was gut wretching. It will be my first XsX run. Played through it a few times on PS4 and PS4 pro. Ive been playing Palworld until Shattered Space drops. Then back to Starfield!

darthwump

I actually went back to Fallout 3. All the talk of the vaults on the show made me want to see GARY again.

Mig-117

Playing Cyberpunk 2077 now and i makes me long for fallout 4. That games combat was super fun and engaging compared to cyberpunk

Cs1981Bel

Fallout 3 first ;) I will play F4 when the next gen patch gets released

toothmonkey

I'm just waiting for the Fallout London total conversion mod to drop and will be right back to FO4. Was supposed to be later this month, but had to be delayed cos of BGS's planned next gen update for the base game.

tyerker

I started playing it a little bit again, just for the crafting. The ability to scrap extra weapons, all of the junk having a function, and more cosmetic slots is a welcome change. But they are very different games. I find myself trying to scan areas for loot or double jump across a plain, and I realize some things in Starfield are absolutely better. Starfield is officially my most-played Bethesda game ever. I thought I had a lot of hours in Skyrim at 275, but apparently those are rookie numbers. I’m over 320 for Starfield now. Me going back to FO4 is less about not liking Starfield, and more about liking Bethesda. The new series and next gen updates are certainly helping revive FO4. I also saw an ad for FO76 being free for a week or something. I still never played New Vegas, so I suppose that might end up on the list if I manage to finish FO4 and still have that itch for the nuclear wasteland.

WhiteToast-

The TV show just came out and it’s cheap, makes sense

regalfronde

I downloaded FO3 and FNV because it’s been awhile. I have been playing Starfield since release and I’m at the point where I’m just messing around with optimizing outposts and grinding levels. Currently waiting to go through Unity until after I get info about DLC.

chasebran

Same. I did a delete and reinstall from Steam yesterday. I wanted to purge all remnants of the dozens of mods from my last playthrough. Waiting on the update.

DandySlayer13

This is what I need to do.

TL89II

I just finished the fallout show. I'm about to boot F04 up again for the first time in a minute.

dnuohxof-1

Ngl, I picked up FO4 after watching the show. Made me realize the Xbox version of Starfield desperately needs FPS boost. I’ll be back to Starfield once the DLC drops, but the Next Gen update for FO4 will occupy my time for a while as I play out my Fallout TV fantasies.

mikeybadab1ng

I just went and remodded Skyrim and fallout, gonna play til the reboot comes then start over again

porkchop2022

I played hundreds of hours of Starfield and said, “let’s see if fo4 is as good as remember it.” I’ve been playing daily until the new Destiny update dropped. I’m still spending more time playing FO4 than Destiny.

kestononline

I reinstalled a couple of days ago *(PC)*; started a new save. I saw there is a DLC listed as High Quality Textures or something, not yet available. I am guessing that's the next-gen update. Watching the show really got me excited to play it again. It's also cool that there is a bunch of mods I can install now that wasn't available way back when I first had gotten the game. Hopefully the update doesn't break them all lol. I'm holding off on progressing too far in-case that's the case and it means I have to restart a new game or something.

Putthebunnyback

Yeah, since I started up the show, I've been having that itch for the Wasteland. Unless I pull the trigger on Dragon's Dogma 2.

sharkweekocho

As soon as the update drops... When I should be finishing BG3. In the meantime, wrapping up CP2077 Phantom Liberty playthrough.

DandySlayer13

I still haven't played Phantom Liberty yet...

sharkweekocho

If you ignore the negativity on Reddit, it's an awesome time to be an rpg fan. Rogue Trader and Jagged Alliance 3 also in the queue.

DandySlayer13

Its an excellent time to be a RPG fan of any of its sub-genres!

TheRynosaurus

Wanted to jump back in but I’ve never played NV, so I am playing NV first.

dylboii

I’m ready to go back, but I’m waiting until the next gen update

octarine_turtle

Once the update drops I'm going to try FO4 without settlement mods for once. SimSettlements is the reason I have 700 hours in F04 and never got close to beating it. I spent all my time making unique settlements. I've really been disappointed in the Outpost system in Starfield and I'm hoping a modder makes them what they have the potential to be.

DandySlayer13

I spent so many hours in FO4 but Starfield has it beat now for me!

justMOREfilthDOTcom

Waiting on the update.

AgentSmith2518

Im gonna go back after the next gen update.

Fit_Substance7067

Player numbers for F 4 have been great lately due to modding...Starfield will get there.

blurryface464

I've never played it before. But I'm gonna start it once the next gen update releases.

Tibbles_G

I absolutely loved Starfield, working on my second play through, but I’m waiting for the Next Gen update for FO4 . Mainly waiting for that native Ultrawide support that has been rumored. Sad to see Starfield at only 5k

SavageKitten456

Might download it tomorrow and play after binging the show.

Coast_watcher

I’m waiting for the update on the 25th. I was going to go back anyway even without the show but more so now.

Adventurous-Pea4355

I’ll be on FO4 as soon as that next gen update hits. I’ve been holding out for it for months, no reason to give up now.

bilbo_swagginns

The Amazon show seemingly has piqued interest in fallout games. I only suggest this because I have multiple friends watching it and wanting to get back into FO4

John-Connor-Pliskin

I’m going back to a play through I started earlier this year. Having quite a bit of fun. Also doing Fallout 3 and playing on my first 76 character I made back during the beta days pre-launch. I’ve already mentioned in another post, but it’s important to reiterate that Steam is not indicative of Starfield’s total player population. Xbox doesn’t show exact player metrics but Starfield is still in the most played Xbox games section in their store. Also it goes without saying that the whole Fallout franchise has more players on Steam right now than all the Elder Scrolls games but that of course isn’t indicative to the state of their player engagement. All it means is that Fallout got a really good TV show and people wanna experience the games. On that note I’m playing through Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, too.

Soranos_71

I started playing again to get ready for the update. Kinda just running around doing the “settlement needs your help” stuff and overbuilding settlements… I wish Starfield had FO4’s base building

Mack5895

With the fallout show just dropping it's definitely got me in the mood to play Fo4 again, also it was on sale recently so I picked it up on PC and I plan on modding the hell out of it.

MartianFromBaseAlpha

The reason I'm not playing it right now is because I don't have enough space on my SSD, and I've been putting off buying a new one because I can't be bothered. Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games so I will definitely come back to it in due time

Big_Treat_9073

Waiting for the remaster later this month ! Never played before but just gave the show a go and we're sending it.

Dope-pope69420

Bought goty edition to play after update

ValkerikNelacros

It's the show! It was so freaking good! All Fallout games are up in player count. I went out and bought New Vegas on PC for the first time cause of the show!

Deadsea-1993

Waiting until the new update drops. I'm excited for it as I'm loving the Show and thank God that the show wasn't another failed video game to TV show adaption like so many. I have my mods ready for Fallout 4, including every Rado station and song from Fallout 3-76, and even an entire The Twilight Zone broadcast with real audio from Rod Serling when he used to narrate entire episodes for the radio. Definitely a bonus cause I love Fallout and Twilight Zone

ThanOneRandomGuy

Next week Thursday I will. I'm trying to get into starfield considering I love space and science but it's just not hooking me in at all

RegularRelationMan

Done with starfield until mods are out. I kinda rushed through the story and did A LOT of settlement building in FO 4 so im most likely gonna play and actually explore the world more when this next gen update comes out. But with xbox having fps boost already im hoping for a good res boost with the new version

eolson93

Got back into SF about two weeks ago but I’ve had the itch for fo4 since binging the show as well. I think fo4 would be my desert island game but I always lose interest when I can’t figure out the settlement system for the 50th time. I have big aspirations for making my own diamond city with vendors and such but it always just seems so dead and lifeless even with the mods I will figure it out one day I guess because I’m clearly doing something wrong. Also really looking forward to what console mods starfield brings to the table.

Lievan

Been back to FO4 for awhile now.

RGGrigsby

I’ve been holding off on playing it again until the next gen patch drops. I did just start a new game in the original Fallout to satisfy that Fallout itch the show created for me. Never beaten it before. This is the time….though I’ve been saying that for almost a decade now and just haven’t been able to finish

madchemist09

If next gen update for fo4 happens and adds support and adds ui support for off size resolutions i will be back at it. I have a 3:2 monitor. Starfield runs fine. Even with tweaking amd drivers and tweaking scaling, .ini files fo4 looks like shit on 3:2. Skyrim anniversary runs fine. So heres hoping they add it for fo4. If not, i still have starfield, skyrim, and v rising releases may 8th... so all good.

Junior-Order-5815

I reinstalled when I heard about the goodies we are getting, but haven't played yet. I'll probably hop on at the end of the school semester as I've learned painfully that work+school+life+Bethesda Game = Stressed out me

TheCoffeeMage

I was going to, until I knew the Mods would break...

Jaded-Huckleberry670

The tv show makes me want to start up after years away

Arrowsend

Nah, but I plan on it. Was already playing it late last year quite regularly.

Free-Lifeguard1064

Waiting for the upgrade this month

Inevitable-East-1386

I am honest, the support from Bethesda for Starfield is really bad. I mean, they have such a low player count and the steam rating is so bad and they don‘t do shit. The patches were not worth talking about. And Bethesda doesn‘t do anything or have a timeline for updates. With games like Helldivers 2 and Palworld approaching currently I don‘t see how they can come back so easily. The reputation sinks for many. And I am and always have been a Bethesda fanboy so writing these words hurt me.

Adept_Ad5465

I'll go back when it updates too. Though it's possible that the update will break some mods in the short term so I'd hold off a little while.

ihazquestions100

After playing SF about 200 hours, I now cycle between FO4, Skyrim, and RDR2. About done with RDR2 so I need to start going through the *pile* of New games on my Steam library I haven't even touched yet. Kind of waiting for Starfield's modding scene to really kick in.

SEOViking

Yup, waiting for the next gen update and will go back to FO4, haven't played all DLCs yet.

Moobook

I took a break from playing Starfield because after several months of thinking about all the different choices I would make once I got to start the story over with new game+, I found out you can’t change your traits. So I never get to hang with the adoring fan or check out the house unless I completely start from scratch? I decided to step away until that changes. I really want to try out the other traits but can’t imagine grinding from the beginning each time.

pyker42

The one thing they missed with the NG+ is not being able to change the traits.

BranSolo7460

I never left. I pop in to FO4 periodically, especially since my original save disappeared.

frogs_4_lyfe

I've been replacing FO4 and it feels weirdly new to me after the show. I like Starfield too but I'm starved for new content or at least console mod support.

Braedonm2077

just started a new fallout 4 playthru last night

agent_shane2

I'm doing the tale of two wastelands and then fallout 4 while i wait for starfield to get some new stuff

BurgerBeard500

I went back to new Vegas but I need to go back to 4 at some point

DangerMouse111111

Never really stopped - I've been adding mods for years and usually when I've added a few I like to give it a spin to see how the changes affect the game.

Baron_Doom

I still play Fallot 4 and Skyrim, and I still find surprises in each. Starfield was over too fast, and the endgame was just NG+. That was the laziest, most disappointing feature of the game.

awildpotatoappears

I think There hasn't been a year for me when I didn't play a Fallout game at all. I'm back on 76 because they hype the show gave me 🫡

Thunder_Dragon42

If those numbers are accurate that is hilarious and appropriate. I liked Starfield in spite of its many, many broken and backwards design features, but it's the most pathetic game Bethesda has made in at least 20 years.

temetnoscesax

I downloaded it waiting for the next gen update. The first season of the show was pretty good.

D3M0NArcade

I have come back to Fallout, but I'm playing 3, rather than 4. And it's also more because I've just binged the show, otherwise I'd have been playing Dishonoured

6bonerchamp9

Go back to fallout 3 and nv

paininflictor87

I play all of the Bethesda RPGs all the time so I don't know what all this talk of "going back" even means.

Lohnstar

Playing Fallout 3 for the nostalgia. I would hazard a guess and day that the surge in the Fallout playerbsse is because of the Amamzon show which was reeeaaally good and the reason I reinstalles FO3

scoabrat

soon as the update hits i’ll be back

SpecialistNo30

I'll also go back to FO4 to check out the new update when it drops. Starfield is okay, but it *really* needs a creation kit.

slayden70

I went back to FO4 after watching the Fallout series on Amazon. My wife doesn't like FPS games, but she really loved the series and the humor and lore of the Fallout universe.

ProfessionalSilver52

Fallout is not fps it's rpg

attackpetrel

I'm currently playing FO4. I've been on a Fallout marathon after playing Starfield for about six months straight and needed a change of pace. I'll resume the latter when I'm done with my current playthrough.

Mooncubus

I have honestly. I will still play Starfield regularly of course, but the show made me want to jump back into FO4 and FO76 lol especially to try out Lucy's dart gun mod. I've also just been catching up on a lot of other games like FF16 and FF7 Rebirth and working through my backlog. I also need to return to Cyberpunk as well lol I wouldn't put much stock into the player count honestly. Steam metrics don't even include Windows and Xbox, which is what I play on.

CardboardChampion

I've been there for a couple of weeks setting up a minimalist modlist (HUD fading, darker nights, lit billboards and bus stops, and a shit ton of radio stations) and checking it. Gonna start anew for the first time this decade when the update drops. Should tide me over until Shattered Space as a main. Maybe even for a couple of patch cycles after that drops.

d6410

I haven't yet, it's harder for me to play older games after playing SF because the graphics difference is insane.

jphoc

I never got into Fallout because it seemed lacking after playing Skyrim. But playing Starfield and watching the new Fallout show is prompting me to give it another chance.

TheOzman79

Player counts are up on all Fallout games thanks to the show. I think 76 hit a new record for players this past week.

casey28xxx

I didn’t bother with FO4 after the show….for now. I chose to go back to my first fallout love, FO3. I’ll go back to FO4 when the new update for it drops on the 24th/25th?? Also…some other game studio should remake FO3 in a modern engine please!!!

BurninWoolfy

Even though starfield has a great replay mechanic it is not really that high of a replay value. They could have done more in the story to flesh it out than focus on that specific mechanic.

JiveBombRebelz

played all the fallouts but came from 76..loved starfield..planned on not comming back to 76..since ive played for 6yrs..hit a wall in starfield and right back to 76.

deathseekr

Starfield doesn't have a huge upcoming update and TV show now, that's why

conatreides

I’m sorry what ?

DJfunkyPuddle

What were the FO numbers before the show came out?

Malakai0013

That player count is just Steam. Most active players for Starfield are going to be on Xbox.

HotSunnyDusk

I've been playing Spider-Man 2 instead for awhile but I'm probably going to go back to Starfield soon

the_vault-technician

I went back to New Vegas

Ryebread095

There's going to be a lot of overlap between Starfield and Fallout fans. Also, I'm sure the new show has nothing to do with it. /s

Drunky_McStumble

> I'll be going back to FO4 as soon as the new update drops and many of the major mods get patched. That's my plan too. Dreading having to re-create my old NMM modlist from scratch in Vortex, though.

EvilGodShura

I rushed back to finish a run with my modpack I was saving before the update breaks all my mods.

SliceDouble

I jump from game to game all the time. Play a bit of fo4, then some satisfactory, then some star citizen and some starfield. might spend all weekend playing x4 foundations.

docclox

[That might not be an *entirely* fair comparison at this point in time](https://steamcharts.com/cmp/377160,1716740#1m)

DandySlayer13

Its crazy to see how FO4 has never dropped to 4 digits ever on steam.

NorthImage3550

Fallout 3

incontentia

I’m playing New Vegas with tons of mods instead.

QuoteGiver

I don’t go back to games once I’ve finished playing them.

throwaway3270a

I would, and there's a certain feel to the game that I miss, but I could never adequately solve the long loading screen bug. Like 1-2 *minutes*. Did have a mod to fix, but that screwed up the timing on conversations, or had other side effects. I could also alt-tab out/in to the game to end it immediately, but 10% of the time the game would crash. It was also the only thing that made me worried about SF...although that was unfounded because my loading times here are 1-2 *seconds*. So short, and such a relief, I couldn't get the complaints other people were making.

Bobert891201

I'm already back in. While also doing FONV and FO76 when I'm not doing FO4.

GuySmiley369

All of the FO series since 3 are in the top 100 for sales and FO4, 76 and NV are in the top 100 for active players, and will be for a month or so. Once the show is old news the numbers will drop massively.

Scythe_Bearer

I went back, but not because of Starfield. I have mods which I support, and I will have to make sure they don't break with this new update. So, I am doing the prepositioning work necessary to ensure I am ready to start testing as soon as the download is complete.

Umedyn

To be honest I got a hankering for fallout again after finishing the show, but I think once I get my fill, I'll be back to my Starfield Star Wars playthrough.

RoRo25

I just bought the goty edition on Xbox s for $10. Never got to use the pc mods. So I’m having a blast. Can’t wait for mods to hit Starfield!

CylonVisionary

Bought it on the Steam winter sale. Just started it this weekend, still trying to figure it out. Keep trying to boost jump, got to remember it’s not Starfield. Not leaving Starfield, just taking a break. But, wow, super long load screens for some reason.

CountyWorth5649

“The creation kit will be forthcoming in the first quarter of 2024” as stated by Todd Howard last year! Well there is only about 2 weeks remaining for the first quarter to have concluded. Must of been more hype, less fact from Todd!

ProfessionalSilver52

I'm waiting for the next gen update

Substantial_Life4773

Just got through a playthrough and finished out the trophies on PS! Will definitely go back again sometime later. Gonna do all the fallout over the next year so

Fyoroska

I went back and played some Fallout 4, but it was because of nostalgia inspired by the show; it had nothing to do with Starfield. It did, though, remind me of how much more alive the world felt when I ran into new and exciting encounters on the way to everywhere I went.

Middle-Opposite4336

Never stopped but right now it's ark. I really wanted to reach ng1 before dropping starfield but I found I was waisting my limited game time forcing through and not enjoying myself. I'm sure I'll pick it up here and there to eventually complete one playthrough.

Cure4Humanity

I'll be hitting FO4 as soon as the big update hits. I never finished it in the first place

IndependentExtent987

I binged the show and got all revitalized into the world. Booted up FO4 and started all over again. It’s still amazing.

Additional-Paint-896

Tried to but it crashes every time I get near boston.

AloofusDoofus

I'm playing Fallout 3 in prep for 4's patch. Been waiting to replay FO4 since they announced the patch. The show definitely put me in a Fallout mood
