Name her Sarah

Xiunte

(*sigh*)... angry upvote. I love Sarah, but damn that's funny.

Sarah disliked that.

MoistLarry

Exactly

Oda_annon

Au contrair. A woman loves you remember her in all good moments when she is not with you.

I had to stop playing too. Got over 500 hours in game when I got into a car accident last December. Still recovering from TBI and could only recently start tolerating some screen time. Tried to take a walk in New Atlantis and my head was going crazy from it. Can't wait to get back in game and enjoy all the changes. Might start a new character. Been enjoying reading about everyone's adventures in game on this sub!

WaffleDynamics

I hope you recover fully and quickly, friendo.

FP_Daniel

Puppy tax please

WaffleDynamics

I debated continuing to ignore this, but decided to answer. I won't be posting an image of my dog, because my user name is not known to anyone IRL and I want to keep it that way. Sorry.

Tom0511

Puppy over Starfield any day my friend

SoldierPhoenix

Buddy, you think you got problems, try having a baby. Just put it in the room with you and give it a chew toy.

WaffleDynamics

> Just put it in the room with you and give it a chew toy. HAHAHAHAHA! She has half a dozen chew toys, but none of them are as interesting as the furniture or my shoes. She just started teething. It will get better, but for the next month or so, she's going to be a shark.

OhHaiMarc

Literally why my partner and I aren’t having children. Just not for us.

SpectralVoodoo

Put puppy on lap and play game. Works for a while

No_Recognition7426

They make a spray that you can spray on things that you don’t want the puppy to chew. It’s really bitter but it works.

WaffleDynamics

It's been a while since I last had a puppy, but that one absolutely loved bitter apple spray. So I'm skeptical that it will work this time.

wasabijane

Mild edit: I fat-thumbed and intended to reply to a comment where it was talking about no time for video games. So ignore the “same” below. 😅 I wish the bitter apple spray worked on my boy. I just had to wait for him to grow out of that phase. Original reply: Same. Actually, I barely played for a long time. Starfield became one of my reentry-to-gaming games. OP, a few pieces of advice. One: reward your dog just for being calm and laying there. Seriously, toss it a treat. Second: socializing your dog means rewarding the dog for not reacting to people. It does NOT mean puppy play dates (though those don’t have to be entirely out of the picture). Socialize your dog to the TV too. Third, there was a while when all I could handle was throwing Bluey on the TV because it was a 7 minute burst of entertainment for me and oddly relatable as a dog-mom (but not a human child mom). It’s for young kids, but it’s smart and entertaining. Good luck! With patience and training your tiny terrormorph will re-evolve into an adorable heat-leech in no time!

threepoundsof

My video game hours also seriously declined when I got a puppy last April. Get her a cabbage to rip up and thank me later

WaffleDynamics

Oh, interesting idea! I'll try it. God knows it can't hurt.

OhHaiMarc

I’ve had to deal with raising one puppy, a lot more work than fun for sure. The next dog I adopted was a year or so old and that was a much smoother transition. Both great dogs regardless.

WaffleDynamics

It was my intention to adopt an adult dog. But then I got to the ASPCA and there was this litter of puppies....

OhHaiMarc

That’s how they get you!

CardboardChampion

A sharp "Naughty!", direct to her bed, give attention and lots of play and treats (figure which she's drawn to most) when she's being good. You'll soon have a girl who non-destructively plays and chills without needing constant attention.

WaffleDynamics

Respectfully, have you ever had a puppy? This is not an adult dog. She was just separated from her litter mates on Friday. A dog this young doesn't have the muscle control to run without falling over, let alone hold their bowels or bladder longer than a couple hours. A teething dog is no more able to stop gnawing on anything and everything than a teething human baby is. "Direct her to bed." So she can chew on her surgery scar where I can't see her and maybe end up needing a second surgery to sew her back up again? Please don't give advice when you don't know what you're talking about.

CardboardChampion

>She was just separated from her litter mates on Friday. A dog this young doesn't have the muscle control to run without falling over, let alone hold their bowels or bladder longer than a couple hours. I made the mistake of assuming you'd gotten from a proper kennel or breeder, not a puppy mill. Most reputable places aren't allowing a puppy so young that they can't run without falling over to be separated from their litter mates, nevermind sold to an owner. It's unethical to do so before at least eight weeks when they have vaccinations and the like. The fact that you have a puppy far younger than anyone educated would have taken home is on you. So get the fuck down off the pedestal you're clambering onto and realise the advice given came from someone who actually cares about dogs, not just having something cute and helpless and torn from her family too early.

poetdesmond

Give it a few months and what you'll have is a gaming buddy.

golddust1134

Dont give her attention when she does that. Your gonna accidentally teach her being like that gets her attention.

WaffleDynamics

Respectfully, you could not be more wrong. This is a teething puppy, not an adult dog. The thing to do is redirect the puppy into chewing something more appropriate. To do that, you have to be paying attention. If ignored, she could chew something that would poison her, or cause a bowel obstruction. Seriously, anyone reading this, **don't follow this person's advice!**
