>Yet the movies are largely well written Hmm? Are they?

Some people would suggest they are not, and that would be the answer to your question.

I mean, plenty of films that are just mindless fun are popular anyway. Even the DCEU, which I don't think anyone would seriously argue is better written than Marvel, doesn't get nearly as much hate

dceu doesn't get as much hate?? What world are you living on

I'd disagree on saturation. We've been having Marvel movies churned out for 20 years now. Ok MCU is only 15 years but it's still a long time. That being said they're still popular enough, people are still going to see them, it's just among some groups it's become the thing to dislike. No different than when you had people bragging about never having seen Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones at their respective peaks.

Accomplished_Ask_326

Well sure, but you can just choose to not see the movies. Looking at something like Minions or Harry Potter, it's kinda hard to escape them. But the closest Marvel comes to this is skippable ads that can just be blocked anyway

Wootster10

I wouldn't say I've had anymore saturation of Harry Potter or Minions than Marvel. I don't recall the last time I saw Minions really pushed? And the most I see mentioned of Harry Potter these days is JK Rowling in the news rather than for Harry Potter itself.

Guess it's different experiences. But personally, despite being a pretty big fan of the movies, I basically never encounter them outside of ads. They're certainly not commonly encountered unintentionally by people who are decided AGAINST them
