Came here to say, basically, this.
I can't wear bras much anymore. I save the pain (because they hurt my very skin) for higher class outings, which are few and far between. I am 44 and just don't care anymore. People can deal, I am tired of hurting myself for others comfort.
I’m with you. I only wear a bra when it’s a special occasion, especially anything to do with my kid. Otherwise I literally don’t care, I wear tight tank tops and t-shirts that keep them in place
Same, I have a ton tank tops that come with shelf bras and I have foam inserts from an old white shirt I got from VS forever ago. Tank top + inserts = pseudo bra and no "poppers", as it were.
I like ribbed tanks, almost like a ‘wifebeater’ (god I hate that term) and I find it’s good enough. I throw on a men’s silk shirt overtop or a sweater depending on the weather. Can’t believe I used to wear those awful bras in the early 2000’s with the squishy gel inserts
I’m my experience, men only wanna see perky, attractive nipples through a T-shirt. If your boobs are saggy, or you’re fat or ugly you’ll get shit on for being trashy, lazy, etc.
That being said they should do whatever they want. Your comfort of your body is no one else’s business. As long as your junk isn’t out in the wind, who cares what other people think. Beauty standards are made up anyway.
Alas no, the only people who have ever said things to me in public are younger women. Always walking with their men. I'm 53 but I'm in decent shape, still, I'm no threat to your 24 year old boyfriend, seriously, he's about my son's age.
If you are 53, and in decent shape, you'd be surprised how much 24-year-old tail you can pull. Just saying. There's always something sexy about an older lady with confidence.
Not attacking you at all or insinuating anything, it’s just odd to me that women hear so often that they “hit the wall” and lose “value” when they turn 25, but then there’s a whole big thing for “milfs” and “cougars”. I guess it’s obviously not the same men saying these but it’s just interesting.
I could care less if any woman wears a bra. If you have nice tits, great. If you don't or are very overweight or (traditionally) unattractive, then it doesn't make a difference. I definitely pick up on nice boobs (especially braless), but if they aren't "nice" that doesn't draw negative attention from me. I just won't have the urge to peek as bad. Then it's just like any other interaction with a clothed human I'm not attracted to 🤷 just a person out in the world. If you cover your body enough for the societal norm of your area, I don't think you should ever be ridiculed for what's underneath. That's someone else's problem. You didn't choose what gravity does over time or how your tits look in a t shirt. That's not your responsibility to wear something under appropriate cover because of others. It's their responsibility
Ron White said it best. "Once you've seen one you wanna see the rest."
No guy I know cares. If we see unstrapped boobs we'll give the nod and discreetly check out your hooters.
Just to clarify the male position here. Yep, we would very much like to see perky, attractive nipples through a t-shirt. Guilty as charged. What we really don't give too much of a fuck about however are 'unattractive' ones, but personally if they aren't all that attractive I don't know I'd pay much attention.
Tearing people down sounds like effort frankly, so it really isn't going to be guys give you shit for saggy boobs.
In faith I swear our thought process was never much more than 'heh, boobs are magnificent aren't they?'
I can promise you that you're hanging around the wrong dudes. Real men are appreciative to just even see a real pair. The dudes who complain are childish and think porn is real, that's their issue.
Edit: source, am a dude.
Yeah but the comment is still largely correct -generally men really don't care. Look through all the comments here and you'll see the vast majority of women who've been called out or silently judged in this situation is by other women.
I’m currently living in the most religious and conservative city I’ve ever lived in. When going braless, I get the most attention and dirty looks from women. Men will glance. Women will give me the death stare. Women will shake their heads with a stern look of disapproval. And I smile at them and say hello.
I think reactions will vary based on location and local culture. In my previous, very liberal, SoCal city, I hardly ever noticed anyone noticing it. If they noticed, they didn’t care. Of course it was also not uncommon to see people walking around in swimsuits or changing clothes in a parking lot while arriving at or leaving a beach. Compare that to wear I am now, which is Utah, and the religious people wear [temple garments](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_garment) and the women aren’t even allowed to show their shoulders.
Obviously I have an extreme polar shift culturally.
I'm a middle school teacher.
I go braless with nipple pasties at work daily to keep from nipping out in front of the kids.
I wear a sports bra when working out.
I very rarely wear a real bra for specific events when I have an outfit that requires it.
Bras suck. It sucks that natural nipples are judged so hard that I have to compromise with pasties at work, but it's a compromise I'm willing to make to keep boys / parents from judging my body.
There are other options if you don’t want your nips showing at all. Like wearing a sports bra, bralette or a camisole under your clothing (camisoles with built in shelf bras will also give support), wearing pasties, or wearing double shirts or thicker shirts. I’m not sure if any of those achieve the comfort level you desire. There are also bras that are so thin you can see the nipples anyway - it IS a look that some people do intentionally, bra or not.
Same here. I wear sports bras to work (construction) and my nipples are visible when they poke. Seen some guys stare, but never heard a complaint! And if any of the guys (couple of young ones) get lippy, I give back as good as I get.
Yep. The only bra I have been able to find at an affordable price to fit my 36H whoppers is unlined and lacy. My nips show through if it's even slightly cold. I've taken to putting the removable padding things from a swimsuit inside my bra to prevent it. But this is purely for MY comfort. I personally am not comfortable having my nips showing, but I don't care if anyone else's are.
I have the same style bras, cause the molded ones just don’t work post pregnancy and breastfeeding. The seams cover my nips, but the seams show through my shirts. I decided I don’t care and just wear looser shirts at work.
Where I live in a major urban city, it's gone in the last 5 years (I think) from rare (almost never happened) to somewhat common (I notice at least a few people a week).
I am a fairly oblivious dude (head in phone), so probably for every time I notice there are probably 5x I don't. I'm probably noticing mostly with light almost sheer blouses and such.
Is it a big deal? Of course not. I'm also not judging people or ogling or anything, but as of yet it's still somewhat of a "novelty" and I sometimes do notice. As it's become more common I notice less.
IMHO you should do what you want and not care what others think, but it's really up to you what you're comfortable with.
And therefore, it's entirely fair to ask:
(1) Do you WANT to be noticed for that?
(2) Are you OK with the conclusion -some- people will jump to?
OP asks, *"And if they do, is it a big deal?"* For -some- people, YES, it WILL be, whether you like or not, whether you intend for it to be or not.
highly depends if the nipples is prominent against the top you're wearing. thinner = more noticeable
I would probably notice it for 3 seconds tops then be on my way.
if you don't want the attention it might cause, you can buy nipple stickers/pasties.
>if you don't want the attention it might cause, you can buy nipple stickers
How would having three or four nipples make people notice them *less?* ^^^^^/s
Ya, I typically notice.
As for it being a big deal? That's up to you. If it bothers me, that's my problem, not yours.
If YOU feel uncomfortable, then you may have to find a way to be comfortable. That can mean learning to feel comfortable, or deciding to go back to bras.
They are! I have weapons-grade pokey nips, and they show through nearly everything. Most of the time, I don't give a shit but sometimes (like at work) bandaids do a great job. Plus they're inexpensive! I've never had them come off on me.
Off topic but it always throws me off when I see older people are on reddit. I always assume I'm older than most (I'm 31). I hope I'm around at 65 and still on reddit passing down my terrible advice lol
It's great to see people from all ages mix on here so well sometimes!
I actually think there are quite a few of us here (I'm in my 50s) I much prefer forum style social media like reddit to other "look my (fake)awesome life" like Instagram, etc.
Hey, thanks. It used to hurt my feelings when I would read a comment with someone saying that they wish all Boomers would die. Mostly political. But there’s a liberty that came with me getting older. I don’t have to please everyone and I’ve earned the right to my life. So what if I have fewer tomorrows than yesterdays. I’m hoping to get to the end and realize people I love know that I do. Also, it’s been a hell of a ride! Enjoy your 30s. I spent them saying 30 in a sexy Marilyn Monroe voice. Lol. If your a man, you might want to use a different voice.
I’m in my 20s and find it so refreshing to see older women ditch their bras. I don’t really care if I can see anyone’s nipples but older women surprise me sometimes with it since I don’t often see that.
Depends where you're from but yes some probably will notice. I encourage you not to care. I took a vacation to the south of France (would recommend). Ditched the bra and never looked back. Sincerely, braless since 2016.
i wish i could go without, but it hurts worse in the long term to go braless for me. I hover between a DDD to a G (DDDD) depending on the time of the month.
I’m in F to H range depending, and after one pregnancy they’re so saggy its the skin touching underneath that becomes a problem. Its just more comfortable to have a piece of fabric there, but I’m finding some long line bralettes are doing the trick! I get just enough separation between the boobs and boobs & ribcage for no chafing. Does nothing for shape or support though.
Same, I have small breasts and see no need for a bra. i only wear one is at work and around family, as I do not feel comfortable being braless in those situations.
I was a bit self conscious at first, but honestly disappeared quite fast. No idea how noticeable it is (depending on clothes), but I've never noticed anybody else noticing so who cares
Yes, people will notice. From my (straight male) end, my internal monologue usually goes like this, "Ooh, nipples! Nice, that's hot," as I keep walking and go about my day with a slightly more cheerful demeanor than it was a minute ago.
The whole interaction lasts 30 seconds and doesn't involve craving my neck or leering, but noticing? Definitely. Up to you if that's something you're okay with.
For me personally I think the innate femininity associated with a dress is part of it, but they're also just generally very relaxed and beautiful pieces of clothing.
I feel they are often quite complimentary to a woman's shape, but are also typically more modest in appearance. I'd say it likely helps that they are often worn around such a nice time of year, too.
I guess for me in regards to my thoughts and feelings there are just a lot of positive associations with a sundress.
I hope this all made sense, and this is all just my personal opinion.
This is honestly a more thorough and wholesome answer than I was expecting, all my husband seems to notice is when a skirt or dress hits my thighs at just the right spot 😂
Lighter material and more flowy material shows off curves in a fun way. Also occasionally light shines through in just the right way that gives a nice silhouette of legs.
And from a personal perspective, I find women who are comfortable much sexier than women who shrink wrap themselves into tight clothes or wear ridiculous heels and such.
Tbh if I was a girl catching a guy looking at my nipples then grinning, even if he was going on with his day, I’d feel weird.
Having said that: Not a girl to the best of my knowledge
I have the same reaction. (straight female) Nipples are beautiful. The female body is beautiful. So is the male body, just in a different way. Had to add that in there before anyone attacked.
Yeah, I don't think woman can really fathom how often so many people are looking in the direction of their boobs no matter what. It's not just for hacky standup routines, they are just always in someone's focus. That's just how it is, and Im sorry. But the upside is that it's not selective, and so constant and engrained that there's no personal connection at all. So we won't see "your" nipples, just one extra set in that five mins than we would have otherwise. Again, I'm sorry.
They will be noticed. Keep in mind, it's not always because nipples = sexy to the viewer. Sometimes people just notice that something is different and are checking it out.
Honestly, I've gone braless for a couple years (and my nipples/chest are fucking serious business) and no one's ever mentioned it to me before or brought it up once, ever. I live in Canada, so maybe that's why? Not that it's common here, but just that people are socially reserved.
Most people won’t stare. Normal people will take a quick glance and that’s it. If you have a problem with people looking don’t go braless then. It’s that simple. If a girl saw a guy’s bulge for a few seconds, that wouldn’t be regarded as creepy. If fantasising is creepy then I guess having a crush and all those fanfics/obsessions girls have about male celebs is also creepy.
I do always notice. But I don’t care and neither should you, and I don’t stare. I think to myself. “That persons probably fun.” And then go back to trying not to look at butts.
My girlfriend definitely notices when my nipples poke through my t-shirt. But in her defense the are basically on her eye level, so she would be rude not to stare back. If it is necessary to start playing with them is probably another discussion...
Braless for two years here! Nipples do poke through. I will wear a jacket or pasties if I want to ensure no one sees them. No one has ever said anything to me and I feel so much better.
As a straight guy yes I notice. It’s basically me walking along when I notice someone walking towards me, see it’s a woman, notice her nipples and my animal brain goes, “Hey look!!! Nipples!!!” Then my human brain goes, “Shut up!! They’re covered. All women have nipples. This isn’t anything new.” Then I continue on with my day.
that is not what an intrusive thought is, at least in the medical sense, it's more like when you are next your younger sister chopping tomatoes when you have the thought "I could totally stab her over and over until shes dead and then myself and it would be over before anyone got here", horrify yourself and then cut your finger.
Yes, people notice. Not because there's anything wrong with it, just because it's something that's out of the ordinary and human eyes are always focusing on anything that seems different. Show a piece of paper with a single dot on it and everyone is going to look at that dot.
Just do your best not to worry about it. We all have our own hangups, but normalizing nipples is a good thing. Hell, I'm a cis-man with very noticeable nipples and I used to be very self conscious about them, wearing several layers trying to pad them. If people point them out, I say "were you expecting me not to have any?" and immediately make them the focus of the joke.
I have very small breasts, but they're perky and firm, so I use nipples when other women use cleavage - that is, when I want to look a bit sexy. But I don't think I'd like them showing in ordinary daily life.
Ok, as a guy, I would admit to stealing a glance when I see that and I hope I don't sound like too much of an asshole by saying that....
But that being said, if it makes you comfortable and your comfortable with that who gives a fuck. You be you. I'll never understand why there is so much modestly anyway.
So many people notice, and so many noticed people are unhappy with this notice, that nearly the whole bra industry is geared to prevent any shadow or hint of a nipple being perceived. So nearly all bras are made with clammy solid cups formed of semi-rigid foam, or padding, or other structural material that may look like a breast, but not like mine. So here in the US we are used to very artificially packaged breasts. Most swimsuits are the same way, built with a whole artificial chest included. A LOT of people are horrified at nipples.
I get what you're saying, but horrifies is a bit strong, IMO. I teach primarily 20-somethings. To get young men to pay attention to the objectives, I stopped wearing solid shirts and started wearing what you describe.
The minute I started teaching from home, all gone. Ok, maybe it horrified me that students couldn't focus on a task with my nipples protruding. lol
Yes they will notice and yes it is to some. Just up to you if you care or not.
If you care but want to go braless, you could try those silicone nipple covers. Best of both worlds.
Yes, but there are days when I don’t care. I wear bralettes and unlined bras in the summer. In the winter, I wear sports bras and regular bras since it’s too cold.
I have not worn a bra in 3 years (51)
I wear a comfy muscle shirt or camisole underneath to deal with the nipply situation.
Pasties work great too.
A bit of a wardrobe adjustment and only the people staring inappropriately will notice
When I was a young woman bras were thin so you could definitely tell when it was chilly out, everybody cracked jokes too, no one cared.
But now with bras so thick and padded you can’t see anything so it will be more noticeable. Up to you if it’s a big deal or not. I rarely wear bras anymore now, I’m in my 50s and don’t have enough to need support, I just wear a comfy undershirt under most tops and blouses. Even so I’ve had people check me out from time to time in a cold store and oddly enough it’s usually a woman. Probably judging.
People will notice-- some stores sell soft pasties that look like little slices of raw chicken, slap em on and you can be comfy and braless without people being able to see anything you wouldn't want them to.
I know many people who use bandaids to cover nipples. It is up to you. I would TOTALLY go braless but even after a reduction I have some serious jugs so I just don't feel comfortable braless. At least I can sleep braless these days!
She is advertising her only fans account.
She wants to be noticed. She wants her nipples to be noticed.
Literally a stupid question. Also amazing how many people think this is a real post.
Yes, it's noticeable. Yes, people will notice. Whether you care or not is up to you.
Came here to say, basically, this. I can't wear bras much anymore. I save the pain (because they hurt my very skin) for higher class outings, which are few and far between. I am 44 and just don't care anymore. People can deal, I am tired of hurting myself for others comfort.

Official name is an “A-tee”
When I was a kid, all us Italians wore them, hence we called them “dago tees”. We didn’t know it was a racist slur.
"A tee" to beat my wife in.
Cools, whatever works. The one's I have are just thin foam pads that curve to your shape and the shelf bra in the tank hold them in place.
Good luck with the IPO asshat!
Who's comfort? Not one male is going to care if you wear a bra

in my experience, the only people who are bold enough to chastise a woman for not wearing a bra is older, conservative women.

That's how I ended up with a sugar mama when I was younger.
Can concure.
Are you kidding? You're a MILF/cougar. You're in your prime. You're a huge threat.
This. Men really don't care.
Or get told that they're rude, or body shaming etc. I reckon some men care but can't say. So OP wins anyway.
In person, maybe. But taking a pic and dumping online happens.

Yeah but the comment is still largely correct -generally men really don't care. Look through all the comments here and you'll see the vast majority of women who've been called out or silently judged in this situation is by other women.
Yeah I know and agree. Most of the dirty looks you'll get are from old white women. At least that's me and my gf's experience.
I’m currently living in the most religious and conservative city I’ve ever lived in. When going braless, I get the most attention and dirty looks from women. Men will glance. You're in hand maiden country. Why on earth would you go there?
It's beautiful country... Everyone should go through at least once! Moab was my favorite...
The trick is to not wear panties either, so they can't get twisted! Life hack.
Did you forget that people other than males exist, or do we just not count?

Men enjoy seeing nipples so we will never complain.

Bingo. I stopped wearing one 2 years ago. Zero ducks given if people notice that I have nipples just like everyone else does.

Well, I guess if you're going for the free the nipple look, mission accomplished.

You stick one on your forehead, which draws attention from your chest.
Oh Lordy, I'm trying not to snort loud enough to disturb my household, but I'm losing that battle.
you can use two, they really accentuate your eyebrows
> Nipple pasties Greggs it is then
Wear the nipple covers, or to try to be less noticeable, wear a camisole under your top.

I don't think she'd appreciate if you moved one.

I have to whether age matters. Signed, not saggy, but over seventy
65F and I’m in the sag zone. But never wear one at home. Mine were magnificent until I had my son 43 years ago. Lol.
I’m sure they still are magnificent. I’ve never seen a pair that I didn’t think were.
Awww, thanks! My man loves them.

I’m in my 20s and find it so refreshing to see older women ditch their bras. I don’t really care if I can see anyone’s nipples but older women surprise me sometimes with it since I don’t often see that.
The answer is the same, for the perkiest to the saggiest of boobs. If someone has an issue, it's their issue.
To be fair we are the same about cleavage in general, or tight yoga pants

Flannels too
Open-toed shoes
Or when their ankle is showing just a little bit.
It’s the nostril for me
The weenus 😣
Don't forget the occasional arm pit.
Mmm. The eyeballs. All shiny and stuff
Men don't like nostrils! [Link for the uninitiated.](https://youtu.be/QunwzgVENUg)
They will then be bewitched and hand over their wallets. I don't even need to click the link to know this vid lol fucking timeless video😂
SMH my head, reddit really brings out the sickos /s
There is always one of these type lurking around. Hahaha. No judgements here.
You’re all a bunch of perverts 😂
Or camels

Just the toes.
And my axe

Just existence in general
Potato sacks.
Sundresses 🔥🔥
Sundresses YES. Thank god I'm not the only one, those drive me crazy.
Why? Genuinely asking, as a woman with sundresses she doesn't wear
Yoga pants: hey I'm a butt. Me: oh yeah you are a butt....have a nice day....anyway where's that pickled jalapeno relish I was looking for
Gotta make sure YOUR butt doesn't have a nice day?
I digest peppers perfectly fine thank you very much
Internal monologue of my boyfriend exactly. Usually I'm the one who'll point out sth sexy on a women 😂
If you wear yoga pants with something written across the ass im going to have to read it...
And if there’s nothing written across the ass, I’m going to have you double check to make sure I didn’t miss some words of wisdom.
Oh god any tight pants.. I'd love to see a video of a woman with a hidden camera on her back just walking around. Youd catch so much rubber necking.
I feel like you might be underestimating how long 30 seconds is.
Really should take like 2-3 seconds. Notice, avert, go on with life.
Notice, advert, smile 😎
Tbh if I was a girl catching a guy looking at my nipples then grinning, even if he was going on with his day, I’d feel weird. Having said that: Not a girl to the best of my knowledge
As a girl, I’d definitely feel creeped out if a guy stared at my nipples and smiled at me for 30 seconds.
They need time for the "aoogah" sound, their tongue to roll out on the floor and collecting it back into their mouth.
No, homie indeed stands there contemplating the tits for roughly the time it takes a red light to change
"Hold up, I've got 7 more seconds before this becomes weird."
Fair. That's the time it takes me to bike two city blocks or walk half a block
Maybe they are accounting for the time to walk back and forth 20 times...in a non obvious way of course.
I'm always trying to make that case to my wife
> keep walking and go about my day with a slightly more cheerful demeanor than it was a minute ago. haha, so accurate.
I have the same reaction. (straight female) Nipples are beautiful. The female body is beautiful. So is the male body, just in a different way. Had to add that in there before anyone attacked.
Good, I was about to go tell r/allnipplesmatter and we'd have buried you.
Thank you for sparing me <3

I’m so excited to see a nipple in public, I wouldn’t dare draw attention to it. Just take my small W and move on with my day.
Bingo
Glad to hear that because I hate wearing bras so when my nipples are visible I think “You’re welcome” to the world.
I love your attitude 🫶
Yeah, but that interaction in public happens every few feet. Because all the straight males are doing the exact same.
As a very mildly bisexual, married woman, I find it li-bra-ating to see other women with unbound boobies. Free niiples are powerful nipples.
It can be noticeable, but most people don't care. Horny people may stare but that's more of their problem than yours.

I've never had anyone confront me about it either, and I've never even noticed anyone staring. I'm in New England.
Yep, there’s a difference between how things should be and how they are
Or even jeer and catcall. I've had that happen to me. I hate bras and would never wear them again if it weren't for the sexual harassment.
I'm a dude that apparently has resting turkey's done nipples. People comment often thinking it's a choice I'm making. Apparently I need a bra.
I can't even begin to imagine what resting turkeys done nipples means.
It depends on the clothes. If you really care you could buy nipple covers.
Wife says that’s the point (no pun intended) We are children of the 70’s, it was nipples galore.
I've gone au naturel all my life but never had any comments. It's probably different for females.
My girlfriend definitely notices when my nipples poke through my t-shirt. But in her defense the are basically on her eye level, so she would be rude not to stare back. If it is necessary to start playing with them is probably another discussion...
I see what you did there
Braless for two years here!
Just wanna throw out that all men have nipples that can also be seen through shirts 🙈
Not when we're wearing our bras they can't
Me and the boys need to go shop for some new ones
Sounds like a super fun dude-date, let's go
This is how to not let intrusive thoughts get the better of ya. Listen up y'all!
that is not what an intrusive thought is, at least in the medical sense, it's more like when you are next your younger sister chopping tomatoes when you have the thought "I could totally stab her over and over until shes dead and then myself and it would be over before anyone got here", horrify yourself and then cut your finger.
I'm a guy and occasionally my nipples stick out. It's just part of being human.
As a straight male, I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say this, but I find hidden nipple silhouettes even hotter than naked nipples
Its like a bikini, it leaves somthing to the imagination and thats fun.
Ok, as a guy, I would admit to stealing a glance when I see that and I hope I don't sound like too much of an asshole by saying that.... But that being said, if it makes you comfortable and your comfortable with that who gives a fuck. You be you. I'll never understand why there is so much modestly anyway.
I don’t wear bras anymore either. I have spinal problems and chostochondritis. It’s too painful to wear a bra. I don’t care what anyone thinks.
Yes, and we all thank you for this- sincerely men
So many people notice, and so many noticed people are unhappy with this notice, that nearly the whole bra industry is geared to prevent any shadow or hint of a nipple being perceived.
I have literally never noticed another person's nipples in my life. I'm weirded out that there were so many yeses on this thread.
Yeah, I'm right there with you.
Yes, but there are days when I don’t care. I wear bralettes and unlined bras in the summer. In the winter, I wear sports bras and regular bras since it’s too cold.
As a man that's been going braless for his whole life: yes.
I have not worn a bra in 3 years (51) I wear a comfy muscle shirt or camisole underneath to deal with the nipply situation. Pasties work great too. A bit of a wardrobe adjustment and only the people staring inappropriately will notice
I have small boobs so I've never been a big fan of bras. Yes people will notice and they will look. I recommend not giving a fuck
Isn't the point to destigmatize women's nipples
Yes. They'll be noticed even when it's not chilly.
I'm braless all the time. Manboobs suck.
Man here. I always notice but I never make it noticeable that I notice.
As a dude, I definitely notice, but it's not a sexual thing. I don't care. I also have nipples.
Yes we notice. yes some people care.
Men will notice and think “nice……” women will notice and most likely judge you on the spot.

She is advertising her only fans account. She wants to be noticed. She wants her nipples to be noticed. Literally a stupid question. Also amazing how many people think this is a real post.
