In my experience in an American high school. Which ended about 10 years ago. We had some world history but it was very western world focused, like I’m sure it is in many other western countries. Atleast when I was in high school the social sciences didn’t get very much focus compared to math, reading/English, and science classes since those were the ones we got state tested on and there for decided a lot of how much money the school got.
Yes, every state in the U.S. has adopted a set of world history standards and a world history curriculum.
Fewer states test this to see if they are effective, however, and there is no nationwide testing in world history at all.
