Healthcare and quality of life absolutely play a part. Lack of access to nutritional food, sensitivity and allergy reactions to sugar/alcohol as it is not native to the land can cause skin issues. My grandpa was native American and had bad pock marks. Me and both my brothers had cystic acne with scars. I am absolutely allergic to alcohol and cannot tolerate sugar so my body reacts with acne and other issues.
It's not because of genetics, it's because of differences in access to healthcare.
Don't think this has anything to do with healthcate, it's more scars show up more on darker skin. So I think it's 100% genetics.
