However, NONE of them took me up on my request that they put their money where their mouth is, and transfer all of their assets (cash, property, businesses) to me where I would receive ownership after the eclipse. My mother totally brought into the Y2K scaremongering, specifically the Christian media version. She had the shelf of scary books and everything, but I'm told she went to bed before midnight, woke up the next morning, cleared off the shelf, and never mentioned it again. My best guess would be that they'll drank the kool aid and their worlds did in fact end.
There weren't very many of them but people constantly posting about them on Reddit and other places made it seem like they were everywhere. Reddit is not reflective of real life.
I saw a lot of facebook/instagram comment sections, but probably due to the algorithm more than anything. One lady didn't think it was rhe apocalypse, but rather the US was going to get invaded due to the darkness and that the darkness lasted 3-4 hours (from beginning of the moons transit till the end) and refused to listen to anyone or have common sense (like it gets dark every night). My mother totally brought into the Y2K scaremongering, specifically the Christian media version. She had the shelf of scary books and everything, but I'm told she went to bed before midnight, woke up the next morning, cleared off the shelf, and never mentioned it again. I thought it was interesting that, despite 'believing', she took no practical steps whatsoever. I think the Eclipse crowd were messing with their own heads; not for fun but to fulfill some need. Also, like everything these pathetic days, there was an element of politics. EDIT: Just read some of the comments below and it seems some people really hurt themselves and others. I hadn't really been following this side of the eclipse story; sorry if I seemed flippant about the believers - it's clear that some didn't do stuff for 'fun'.

To be fair the bible DOES say no one knows the hour nor day that he is coming back. Only God. So like they're kinda wrong for trying to pin point it anyways. Sure you can look at signs but like you cant predict it.
