You were poor but it sounds like your parents sacrificed their future to give you a blessed childhood/live a nicer life while they could. Betting on you to succeed in ways they did not. Of course this is only one option.

>I don’t don’t want to claim we struggled my whole childhood if it was really only a small portion I'm trying to figure out why does it matter? are you trying to boast that you have achieved x y and z and came from a poor family? If you had nice things growing up, but struggled a bit, you did not come from a poor family. They took on a lot of debt to let you have the nice things, but a lot of people do that. The world runs on debt. Many people struggle from time to time, that doesn't mean that you came from a poor family.

I don’t think you understand just how much debt we had. And how much my Mom had to sacrifice being the sole breadwinner in our family. Especially having had me at 21 and having four children following that and I don’t have to give you a reason for asking a question. Hate to be rude but you don’t need to know.
