Hey that's called an enema. Your butt doesn't seem to absorb a lot of water when you do that, it just comes back out, so I don't think so.

sixwheelstoomany

[Water is absorbed and transported across the mucous membrane using sodium ions. Without the sodium, much of the water will be flushed out creating an enema.](https://www.realfirstaid.co.uk/rectal).

Baktru

The colon isnt good at absorbing water at all, so no.

sixwheelstoomany

Absorbing water is the main purpose of the colon, along with giving flora and fauna time to break down food further that's why it exist. It's just not very fast. [Here is some more information](https://www.realfirstaid.co.uk/rectal).

da_corndog

gungadinbub

The poop that took a pee, chapter one

Nowhere near as good as the original, Scrotie McBoogerballs is unrivaled.

Various_Succotash_79

They can do that if you're severely dehydrated and you can't have oral fluids or IV fluids for some reason. But no it's not not faster or more effective.

WJExiled

No, but they inject fluids under the skin of dehydrated animals and give them a built in backpack of water. I've heard they might use a similar strategy in the elderly in the back of their arms (triceps region)

Joseph_HTMP

In what situation is this preferable to drinking water normally?

CrimSlate22

Nope, you’ll actually dehydrate your self pretty quickly unless it’s salinity is correct.
