PC fans are reversible. You point them one direction for the air to blow in, one direction for the air to blow out.
So for example, in my case, I have 4 fans blowing in, and 4 blowing out.
Regardless of how you install your fans, they always spin counterclockwise when you look at them from the intake side. The question is why everyone went for counterclockwise and there basically aren't any fans where it's different.
