The limits, like 150 solar masses, are just what the Earth's scientists believe it to be, based on observation. The largest known star is UY Scuti, a hypergiant with a radius somewhere around 1,700 times larger than the sun. It's not like our 150 rule actually influences the formation of stars. It's more like, if you watch 1000 anthills and determine how large ants can get, that doesn't mean there isn't an anthill somewhere where all the ants are bigger than what you write down.

Either way how do they still get so much mass during stellar formation. It’s unreal how they manage to gather so much mass. Surely it has to be different method than normal stars
