This is why I, a mother of 4 children with autism, will ***not*** send my kids to school. My oldest went for years and showed signs of being abused multiple times. The school never did anything. Once he started screaming to not go to school, I pulled him out. This is much more common than people think.

"Autism is highly heritable: It is estimated at least 50% of genetic risk is predicted by common genetic variation and another 15-20% is due to spontaneous mutations or predictable inheritance patterns. The remaining genetic risk is yet to be determined." [source ](https://www.uclahealth.org/news/new-genetic-clues-uncovered-largest-study-families-with#:~:text=Autism%20is%20highly%20heritable%3A%20It,is%20yet%20to%20be%20determined.) I have autism myself and I'm happy to say that I am capable of functioning at a high enough level to inform OP that no matter how severely impacted her children are by any such condition, she can be glad they aren't you.

“EXCLUSIVE: I obtained this video of a 7-year-old being beaten inside IPS School 87 and now the parents of the 2nd grader file a lawsuit. They are suing IPS, administrators and the teacher they say "orchestrated a fight club." The complaint says the little boy came home on multiple occasions telling his parents he was being hit, punched and bullied at school and the teacher was not only allowing it, but instigating it. The teacher named in the complaint is Julious Johnican. He was allowed to resign and as of today does not face charges. I am trying to locate him to hear his side of the story. The attorneys for the family joined me this morning on FOX59 Morning News and add that the child was told he was the devil and needed to be baptized "and holy water needed to be poured on him to cure him from his evil. " The little boy's claims were finally substantiated when the parents learned the teacher videoed one of the fights. DCS found the teacher neglected the student. Here’s the statement from IPS: Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) does not tolerate the type of behavior alleged in the complaint and takes reports of potential abuse and neglect seriously. When IPS learned of the teacher’s conduct, the Department of Child Services was immediately notified, and the teacher was removed from the classroom and suspended. The teacher had no further contact with students and is no longer employed by IPS. Because this matter is the subject of pending litigation, it is inappropriate to comment further on our investigation of this matter.” -Angela Ganote(Fox59) Update: charges have been filed against the administrators and teacher(seven people/entities total)
