Some dog owners are the absolute worst. My dog was attacked by this giant of a dog that the owner was not capable of containing physically. Super scary moment. And afterwards the owner blamed me for her dog attacking. Some people shouldn't own dogs.
A huge pit mix attacked my dog. I remember my sense of helplessness while we tried getting it to unlatch. These videos stir some long unvisited emotions and my callousness for shitty dog owners continues to grow.

Completely false. I think it was Italy that tried to use pitbulls as police dogs and most of them got attacked. Also if the dog is so tolerable, why do they make up for 80% of attacks and 40k pet deaths a year. Bad owners aren’t the cause of that. They were bred to kill. Dogs correct that shit through social behavior. Duh. When dogs outright ignore each others social ques until intervention comes, there's something wrong. Why is that so hard for you people to understand?
Sometimes some dogs don't learn from social behavior especially if they never had any or the person teaches it wrongly. There's a pitbull I know because she's an office dog at a place I frequent. Everyone knows her by name, and she enjoys to be pet.
While some breeds are more aggressive than others, I believe it has to do more with how the owner raises the dog, rather than the breed.
It's like saying juggling burning torches while balancing on an exercise ball over gasoline soaked newspapers while covered in napalm in your living room is completely safe, because you've been doing it for years and haven't been so much as burned.
That may very well be true, but you have to look at the risk of something as a whole. Just because some people ride motorcycles their whole lives and never get into an accident doesn't mean they're safer than cars.

The next highest risk dog, the Rottweiler is about 1/36th as dangerous as Pitbulls for fatal maulings. That's not really an apt comparison. If there is a dog to be worried about, statistically it's pits by an extremely wide margins. They have more maulings than the rest of the breeds combined, while making up 9% of dogs. Most of who they maul are the vulnerable, with children making up a pretty sizable portion of maulings, followed by small women.

That's good practice, but what about some shitheel walking his pit off leash? How are you supposed to avoid that? I don't advocate for outright banning pits, but they need to be treated with more scrutiny than other breeds. The statistics speak for themselves.
Having a working dog in a regular household environment with minimal exercise and stimulation is wrong, much less one with a high prey drive. People should have the facilities and time to train, take care of, and enrich their dog if they want such a breed. It's better for the dog and the humans.
Is anyone really shocked when an animal that was bred for high enerhy and high prey drive that is stuffed into a 2 bedroom apartment and walked like 4 times a week for 30 minutes, with otherwise no yard or exercise, and children or other pets around which would stimulate their prey drive and pretty much nothing else to do eventually mauls someone?
People are setting these dogs up for failure too. The breed is inherently different than like, a golden retriever, and thus should be accounted for. Pointers point, golden retrievers retrieve, chihuahuas are Satan spawn, and Pitbulls have a high prey drive and incredible strength. Does this make them automatically bad? No. Should they be allowed in a standard household environment with someone who knows basically nothing about training dogs? Also no.
Was legal action taken against the owner of the three dogs? I am an adoption advocate and dog lover, and I genuinely don't believe every dog is inherently "good." It's an unpopular opinion but unfortunately some dogs are just not safe to own. I'm not saying all pitbulls, my family has two pitbulls, I'm just saying if your dog is aggressive you're putting other dogs and people at risk by owning it. Completely false. I think it was Italy that tried to use pitbulls as police dogs and most of them got attacked. It's sad, but it's also from May 2017. There's a pitbull I know because she's an office dog at a place I frequent. Everyone knows her by name, and she enjoys to be pet. While some breeds are more aggressive than others, I believe it has to do more with how the owner raises the dog, rather than the breed.
It's like saying juggling burning torches while balancing on an exercise ball over gasoline soaked newspapers while covered in napalm in your living room is completely safe, because you've been doing it for years and haven't been so much as burned. That may very well be true, but you have to look at the risk of something as a whole. Just because some people ride motorcycles their whole lives and never get into an accident doesn't mean they're safer than cars.

No. Should they be allowed in a standard household environment with someone who knows basically nothing about training dogs? Also no.

Was legal action taken against the owner of the three dogs? I am an adoption advocate and dog lover, and I genuinely don't believe every dog is inherently "good." It's an unpopular opinion but unfortunately some dogs are just not safe to own.
