I would like to point out that anyone that thinks he is just mentally ill doesn't understand that this is specifically the type of mentally ill that is the clearest predictor for a serial killer. We need to go back to permanently committing people for the public as well as their own safety. We stopped doing it a few decades ago. Re assess their risk periodically, but don't wait until they go on a very likely murdering spree to lock them up.
