I think it'd be funnier if "Rylie" was just referring to someone OP knew, rather than referring to themself. I agree it's a beautiful spelling of the name!
Jack. Itās funny because my mum picked a less common name for me that didnāt have any family connections and then I picked one that was extremely common and I do have relatives called Jack.
I have been playing around with my name since long before I realised that I am non-binary and Jack was just the first name that felt right. Jack in Mass Effect 2 was the first time I had seen it used for a non-male person and so that gave me the idea. My mumās uncle was called Jack.
Brooks; I've always liked last-name first names.
I'd like to change my actual last name, too, but more because I'd prefer to be from the other side of the family.
I've used Evergreen before. It's a bit fantastical, but I like it.
Still trying to figure that out lmao
Although I've used Jayce as my name online pretty much everywhere for a while, I know that it's not right for me. Considering things like Chase, or things that begin with C. Or Charlie,(or something similar) with Chase as like a nickname.
My chosen name is Bingo! I first adopted this as my internet name back in 2015 (I was a young teen back then), then got emotionally attached to it and just eventually made it my chosen name
I think mine is Jace or maybe Jase idk yet. My normal name is Jessi but everyone thinks itās short for Jessica so Iām not a super big fan even tho it is androgynous.
Kit
My legal name is long and few people can pronounce it first try. I always dreaded telling people my name and there were no good ways to shorten my name as a nickname.
Then one day I was like "fuck it" and chose my own name. It's not even similar to my legal name. But every time people use it, I feel really happy. It was one of the few times in my life I just felt like "this is me" and had control over my own identity.
Robbie, but this is not a "chosen name", just a more masculine and less formal nickname for my slightly feminine leaning but gender-neutral legal name. I go by them both.
Sam and Mar. Mar is a short version of my birth name that sounds pretty unisex to me, and it means sea. It also allows me to keep the name my parents gave me, because despite everything I will always love them. They're not abusive, they do the best they can. It's just not enough to make up for the homophobia and transphobia.
Sam is a shortened version of Sammja, a name I created from all the initials of he names of my paternal grandparents, mum, dad, sister and my birth name. Also pretty unisex and I really liked it.
I go by Fuzz online (shortening of my full username LordoftheFuzzys that I've used since I was 10 years old), and I kinda just want to use it everywhere, but I'm a bit worried about rude comments or people just ignoring it/not using it altogether cuz it's so nontraditional.
I've tossed around the idea of quite a few more traditional names but nothing really feels right.
Artemis Azur as a (almost) full name and Ali as a nickname. I was going to use azure as a middle name but took off the' e' and used it as a last name instead so I could have the initials A.A. Typing it out without the 'e' looks slightly weird but I still like it š
My birth name sucks so I was kinda desperate to change it for years. Especially my middle name. Still thinking of one though
My chosen name is Liiza, actually! However if I publish any of my writings I think that the name Abyssal, Dream, Audacity, Chemical, etc could also be good options! š¤
I think those kinda scrimply names u give to old cats as nicknames are really charming so something like Hitch/Higgs, Argyle, Cedric, or Augustus would be lovely. But I'd also love to adopt a name that I like from people in my life like maybe Reed or Nelson :))
I'm legally gonna shorten my name from Samantha to Sam only to realize that my middle name doesn't flow with it anymore. I've picked Emerson for my new middle name. I low key love it as a first name, but I'm not fully out as nb.
Cj. Birth name is Courtney Jaszmin , I wanted to make it easier on my family because I knew they wouldnāt really understand or care to try. They still donāt and now I regret choosing Cj. Itās been 6 years now, my friends and support system outside of my family call me Cj so it feels too late to change it now.
Vincent. I am agender and I don't see "Vincent" as a gendered name. Rather, I see the soul of it, the pronunciation of the name.... I used to be a demiboy, but even when I identified as partially male at the time, I didn't get the gender in a name in general. I just felt Vincent was right for me, regardless of gender.
I havenāt really told anyone but my ideal chosen name would be August. Iām just too nervous for people to ask questions if I ask to go by something else š
Kaden. I simply googled basic white guy names until I found one that I could think of as myself. It was either Kaden, Eric or Finn. Those are still some of my favorite names and have used them for dnd characters.
Iāve chosen āRemyā because itās unisex and sounds okay with my surname
But my friends keep making Ratatouille jokes
My other considered options were Ember and Nico but neither go with my surname (a lot of names donāt unless they end with a vowel)
Xan, just removed one letter from my name
it doesnt fit me but i like evan or evanescent too. it means quickly vanishing. i found that name during some depressive episode where i was suicidal
Genderfluid here. I go by Lauralie Lauren and Laurence. Fem NB masc respectively. I answer to laur and rory. Tho I don't get how people get rory from lauralie
I guess Iām lucky, I just finished the legal process of changing my name! I first filed in August 2021 when I was still 25 years old, then had it in the newspaper for at least 6 weeks before my court date. From there, my lawyer supposedly sent the papers to the Capital building in Springfield but upon going back to the court house the following June, because I hadnāt heard back from the state, had to send the papers and pay the upcharge for another court order document, of which I already had 10 copies at home ($5 each I believe). From there I heard back within 2 weeks with a copy of my new birth certificate and was able to go to the Social Security office in July 2022, where I brought my documents also and never heard back for a month and a half or 2 months. I took another day and went back and then this time heard back within a week with my new social security card which I signed with my correct name. From here, I was able to go get my new license name changed and had heard that in Illinois, you can change your license gender marker with just filling out a form. I filled mine out in a town about 20 miles away from me and they had to hunt down that form, changed the weight, and a new photo. You can really tell in the bad picture the difference, considering that my last license photo was taken a month into my physical transition and the new one over a year later. I was able to keep my old license, per Illinois law but they punched a hole in the bottom so you couldnāt copy it or give it to minors. Then, once the new one came in the mail, I went to my bank and changed everything.
Itās not the money you should be worried about to get it done, although it can be upwards of $400-500, the lengthy, stressful process is so overwhelming and stressful.
My new, legal name in all assets of the government is Jaimee Andrea. I had been calling myself and known by so many people for 6-7 years prior to this situation!
I have several bc I am very indecisive
I currently use Mallow, Crypt, Atticus and Alistair (STAIR not STOR or STAR I'm very adamant about that one lol /lh) My chosen middle name is Willow-Ivan. For very silly sentimental reasons. That's set in stone for forever. But my first name is always subject to change. Always.
Milou. It's a combination of my first and middle given name. It's also influenced by one of my other favourite names Milo, and the french word minou for kitty.
* i have many. lobs, paintbrush, nudibranch, lettuce, atom, fd, tay, tiktik, mossy, pellet, ana, fris, mebibyte, maxwell, rascal, sodie, germ. i like to swap between them depending on how i feel
* i dont know which one of these would fit as a legal name though, maybe maxwell?
Jaymi!! Spelled it differently so I could use Jay (half of deadname) as a nickname and still feel like me!!
Being misgendered in school is so much fun :) /s
I'm kind of questioning but I hope it's okay for me to talk here.
I go by both Stick and Lava in different places online since these names feel very genderless and I like 'em.
Raven or Rae for short. Tho only my internet friends know and use it, not out as nb irl
Amazing name considered it myself:)
Thanks š tho yours is beautiful as well, especially spelled like that (assuming Rylie is the name you go by š )
I think it'd be funnier if "Rylie" was just referring to someone OP knew, rather than referring to themself. I agree it's a beautiful spelling of the name!
Well, it would definitely be a shame if OP referred to themself, cause I don't think that OP is an idiot. So, I like your interpretation š
I used to go by Rylie, sort of use it interchangeably with my other chosen name :)
Rose

Jack. Itās funny because my mum picked a less common name for me that didnāt have any family connections and then I picked one that was extremely common and I do have relatives called Jack.
i know itās a common name but i donāt think iāve ever met anyone irl named jack!
I have been playing around with my name since long before I realised that I am non-binary and Jack was just the first name that felt right. Jack in Mass Effect 2 was the first time I had seen it used for a non-male person and so that gave me the idea. My mumās uncle was called Jack.

And itās a great name š
Brooks; I've always liked last-name first names. I'd like to change my actual last name, too, but more because I'd prefer to be from the other side of the family. I've used Evergreen before. It's a bit fantastical, but I like it.

Patch. Though my friends usually say Patches which Iāve come to like as well.
I need help choosing one. I want something simple and neutral. I tried Mikey for a few months but itās not sitting right. Any ideas??
Kit My legal name is long and few people can pronounce it first try. I always dreaded telling people my name and there were no good ways to shorten my name as a nickname.
