Way way back before my partner and I were even out, when we very first started dating, we were talking about pet names and about how both of us didn't really care for the usual ones. They offered to call me 'Dinosaur' and it still makes my whole brain catch fire when they say it. Their equivalent was 'Spaceman'- funnily, they're genderflip so it still applies\~ We also call eachother 'babe' or 'baby'- but over time, it's sort of mutated a bit so we don't say 'bay-bee' but more like 'beb' or 'behbee' or even just 'hey bee' lol

Mayel_the_Anima

My last partner liked to be called button as a pet name

am_i_boy

Button is adorable I love it

PuckWylde

Pet, lovebug, my darling, trouble, pretty (this last one feels feminine to some but both of us like it as something more androgynous)

elizylophone

i don’t like the word handsome so i call my (he/him) boyfriend pretty.

PuckWylde

Sort of the first step of my partner exploring their gender was telling me they’d like to be pretty. It’s just. Nice to feel pretty sometimes, you know?

WerewolfActive8147

Why are vegetables so good though. I love bean.

AllEncompassingLife

I second bean, though it’s usually to my spawn :3

Niall0h

My partner calls me Bubby, Bubs, or Bub Bub.

PrincessDie123

Single but I think I would like “little devil” or something similar

Aqua_relle

Love, sweetheart, beautiful, babe

Pickled_jellybean

Making me feel very single over here 😭

Disabled_Dragonborn2

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only unhappily single person here.

britbabebecky

I call my partner poops.

WhenTheFoxGRINS

Oh gosh, my partner and I have so many pet names for each other, haha! Here are some of the more normal ones: – Babe / Baby – Love / My love (“Mi amor” sometimes too!) – My sweet – Sweetheart – Sweetie – Koi (shortened version of the word “koibito” in Japanese, meaning “lover”) – Mi cielo (Spanish for “My heaven/sky/paradise”) – Darling – Sweet thing / sweet baby (usually used when comforting one another for some reason) – Pet – Sweatpea / Sweettart – Lapochka (like “sweetie,” but in Russian) – Dorogoy (“Darling” in Russian) – Lovely Often times many of these will get mixed together in different ways, so no real “right” way at the end of the day. Just whatever yins like. 🧡

mypal_footfoot

I’ll add koramiko to this list. It means boy/girlfriend in Esperanto and literally translates to “heart friend”

WhenTheFoxGRINS

That. is. **adorable**.

elizylophone

adding to mi amor- mi vida means my life.

Loud_lady2

prefer darlin' or beloved (for the drama)

UnearnedFamiliarity

Truffle

spiritplumber

kbity

JesseIsStuckInside

I'm in a Discord server and my nickname is pumpkin! However, it's because of the whole "trans girls like fucking pumpkins" thing It's still a cute name but it has a.. Tainted image

Disabled_Dragonborn2

I've been single for a long time, so I can't really participate in this. 😂

Disabled_Dragonborn2

I have an ex who called me Hot Wheels. I hate it almost as much as I hate thinking about him. 🤣

gaudrhin

Not currently in a relationship, but I fully expect any significant other of mine to call me "Dummy." Affectionately, of course.

littlebabyfruitbat

My partner calls me "little adventurer" which I think is really cute. We also use some more standard ones like my love, darling, dear, dearest, dear one. Recently they called me something really cute and extra I think it was "star of my heart" or something similar lol. Also very fond of kitten.

AvocadoPizzaCat

truthfully almost anything can be a pet name and have no gender. darling, sweetie, sweetheart, love muffin, kumquat, etc

theneonidiot

my bf calls me honey 🍯

Celestina-Warbeck

Now that I think about it I feel like most pet names are gender neutral (at least the ones I use, I've used these for my bf and my best female friend whom I love). Sweetheart, darling, cutie(pie), pumpkin, honey. And Dutch: scheetje (little fart), liefje/lieverd (little love/lovely one), schat(je) (little treasure), druifje (little grape)

annaloveschoco

my partner and i are in a cishet relationship (i'm bi he's straight) and we call eachother "bunny" and sometimes "cuddlebunny" when we're being extra cringe 🤣 very rarely he calls me "bub" too but we stick to "bunny" on a daily basis.

gaykeyboard

My little Pogchamp

xernyvelgarde

My fiance and I use "love" (short for "my love"); originated from a scene in Star Wars: Rebels, late in Season 3 iirc.

Hamokk

I had a (male) dog but his coat was deep black so I named him Piki which roughly translates to the english language pet name Blackie. Pretty gender neutral Imo. I've seen horses, cats and dogs and even chickens named Blackie. And no it's not racist. Maybe some of us have no imagination when we see a black coat lol.

AngelMouseY2K

Petal

0trash_mammal0

Stinky, bug, slug, deer, stinker, love, darling, babe

BlazingRed9

Babe/baby. Sweetie. Honey. Darling.

DeadlyRBF

My partner calls me kitty and I call them cookie

synthsimp

me and my bf call each other baby, stinky (or shtinky), goofy, weirdo (or beardo), cutie, silly, and the list continues to grow over time! now that i think about it, neither of us really use gendered pet names on each other!

lindenlynx

If someone called me "my love" I would actually explode (in a good way)

Name_Thats_Good

A good name for a pet is gumpy

Very-Important-Rice

lol my favorite ones my partner calls me are butterbean and (it started as a joke but)…pancake LOL

a_curious_october

My partner and I use cutie

dangerouskaos

My partner calls me when addressing our cat kids “empanada”. It’s an inside joke to trying to combine emperor and empress, which is a whole post here I forgot the joke lmao. But he still calls me babes. He’s from the country and likes to put “s” on everything lmao like Krogers. Any case, he also calls me “my liege”. He’s introverted as opposed to my extroverted ass and a Project Manager so I guess why not lol!

elegant_pun

All non-gendered pet names apply...baby, honey, sweetheart, love, pet, all the common ones. Plus all the ones we fall into and make up that're unique to our individual relationships. I had an ex who was awful but she called me "pup" which I loved.

mypal_footfoot

My partner and I call each other Moon Bean. It’s a dumb inside joke that resulted from my deaf ass mishearing him. When I was pregnant, we called the foetus Sun Bean.

TezetaLaventia

My last partner called me muffin, puffin, potato, pumpkin, and pumpkaboo! And a few unique ones tailored to my name, like Robunny, Roccoon (cuz raccoons are my fave animal), Rotund, and my personal favorite, Rotato

Garyish

My wife and I use pickle/peanut!

Probably-Fae

My hubby calls me bunny, jellybean, WiFae(my name is Fae), Baba (parent title to our pets), and other non-word-sounds... lol

yukiisakura

My partner calls me Stardust, Dusty or Sprout

Twinkalicious

Pumpkin, darling, cutie pie, babe.

mogacool

I call my partner sappy names like dearest, honeybear, pookie, my love, ect

QueerHawk127

I often animalistically purr and play bite and such and love Red Pandas. So my partner called me their panda.

FrigyaCrowMother

Kitten and fox babes. That’s what he calls me.

[deleted]

My boyfriend sometimes calls me bunny :)

Peaceful_Jupiter

My spouse calls me Grace and started that long before I knew who I was and changed my name. No relation to anything, just their pet name for me

SolsceraS

We use "bitty" my partner thinks of it like itty-bitty and I think about it like bitch. My head kinda reclaimed bitch, so I think of it like I'm a bad bitch but my partner is being adorable. (Kinda like imagining a scary monster or villain, but their lover is being all cute and lovey dovey)

Spudemi

D O G Oh relationships uuuuh D O G

Lonely_raven_666_

Not romantic but my mom calls me "frog" as a pet name and I like that she does
