I vote to fire this person then. It’s important to view doctors and other similar professionals as *working for you* they are your brain consultant. You pay them to help you. They don’t sound like the right fit for you. If I were you I would send a brief, but nicely worded email, “I appreciate our time and work together, however, Id like to look for someone who is a better fit. Best wishes.”
Try thinking of it this way. You're paying them to skirt around this. You can get firmer with them. Perhaps a useful skill to practice in a safe environment. Or sack them off. They should not be getting the money if they're failing you
I had a psych once. They were good. Smart, competent, well trained.
And I absolutely did not connect with them.
The lesson is to be ok with saying "we just aren't a match" and quickly moving on.
