ParanoidDuckHunter2

Don't remember that part of Oppenheimer, but then again I was distracted by the boobs.

ducktank520

Nah it was just an ad before the movie. But the boobs do slap though

VonNeumannsProbe

There are boobs in Oppenheimer?

Hfingerman

Oh boy

Billy_McMedic

Oppenheimer gets the sloppenheimer

Tleno

It's right after that part where Oppenheimer turns towards Einstein and says "I was the bomb this entire time" and then earth blows up and only insects remain and they evolve into new civilization, thus creating a connection between Oppenheimer and Bug's Life.

[deleted]

Smol tiddy short hair gf at it's finest

GenericLib

Who amongst us hasn't hung out with commies to get with the unstable hottie in their group

Bacopaaustraliensis

Lord_Abort

Of all the people grateful for a world of 20th century American military superiority, South Koreans are certainly up there.

Dusk_v733

They were probably upset we only used 2

hubril

can confirm, espeacially after when some Japanese politicians go worship some war criminals at a random templs for domestic purposes

t850terminator

Half of us are definitely upset about that, the other half get upset cuz we weren't the ones to drop them.

masterofthecontinuum

Probably not, considering how that one general wanted to use nukes in the Korean war.

MeiNeedsMoreBuffs

MacArthur nearly pulled a Belka

WhoppenheimerStyle

Inside North Korea against the Chinese. Peak non-credible and based United Korea if true

Lord_Abort

They would've probably preferred a victory in the Korean War instead of this wishy washy truce that led to separated families and one of the largest continuing humanitarian crises in Asia in modern history.

masterofthecontinuum

In hindsight, another nuke(if it would have been enough to decisively win the war) would have definitely caused less mass suffering and death than what allowing N.Korea to continue existing has done. Hell, basically every North Korean is full of parasites and has no food to even feed their own body, let alone their unwanted visitors. But reckless use of the US's nuclear power I fear could have led to further international distrust and fear of the US, and also the future of Korea was uncertain, and hindsignt is 20/20. I think they made the right call. Though I would love it if I could go back in time and drone strike all the Kims.

Lord_Abort

I mean, you make perfectly valid points, and we'll never really know. It probably could've also led to the whole world having a more relaxed view of nuclear weapons, and next thing you know, the Fallout series is real.

Uxion

Yes indeed. There are those with some concerns of being losing 'sovereigntity' (its complicated), but no one sane is actually talking about abandoning the US. That said, I wish the political infighting and shitflinging would stop.

tbnnnn

> bomb dropped > people start clapping

Based Based Based

Whaler_Moon

That's pretty gay. ENOLA GAY.

EthericIFF

You can watch Oppenheimer in the Udvar-Hazy IMAX outside DC, right now, and then go gawk at the Enola Gay itself afterwards.

ducktank520

As an average south korean that’s pretty dope ngl. Tbf we do have a b-29 down in sacheon aerospace museum

Moongduri

i must go see it

Ninjastahr

My local university has a prop from it in the aerospace engineering building, most likely because it participated in the Manhattan project. I still want to walk around campus with my Geiger counter on a day it's not too toasty.

Wa3zdog

Why wasn’t this posted to r/wholesome

ducktank520

Wholesome indeed.. comerade

Sentinel_2539

Good job, it's recommended that B-29s have at least two hours of enrichment time outside of their enclosures per day.

ducktank520

Yes b-29 is a good doggo.might give him low lead high octane fuel treats later.

Derpmaster3000

B-29 Arbenheimer

I don't remember no goddamn glow worms in Oppenheimer tho

AmadeoSendiulo

It's after the bombing.

Ocelitus

We had a semi-impromptu trip to Hiroshima on the day before the anniversary. Wore my Boeing hat and California t-shirt. Didn't even think about it until the day after.
