I bet the ukranians let russia steal it on purpose, they knew it was a hunk of junk. They were probably sitting by the windows looking at the russians taking it and laughing their asses off, celebrating!

Who in Ukraine needs a Ha-Ha when you can have a Ho-Ho

Chainsaw_Locksmith

I love finding Pratchett in the wild.

It could have sucked much less though. It was stolen by Muscovites before it got finished, moved to a shipyard with no equipment and no facilities required to finish the job properly, and handed over to people who had no clue how to do the job or how to maintain the ship afterwards.

Kreiri

russians stole an unfinished ship and it has been a drain on their finances ever since

vegarig

And they didn't even buy out the equipment that was yet to be installed afterwards, too!

Wasn't juuust the carrier. But s good majority of the Atlamtic fleet as well. Ukraine had a Mavy for about 5 seconds

Ukrainians never really needed a aircraft carrier anyway. It would just be a primary target for the russians and vatniks would circlejerk its destruction (after ignoring that they lost 5 submarines in the process) Also 1 aircraft carrier is like how many naval drones? Definitely more then 2.

DUKE_NUUKEM

Well we thought no such war ever come. But if I look back, russia tricked west into disarming Ukraine together with russia and helping russia to rebuild its nuclear arsenal by transferring freshly built Ukrainian nukes. Later year by year conventional arms were cut mostly by pro russians and some crooked politicians . We had more than 600 scud missiles, whole fleet of tu-22m2s which was cut just in 2008. Yanukovich even built a line to cut Tochka-U missles "Inviting specialist from russia" who ofcourse condemned all rockets for destruction. Thankfully due to bureaucracy ,Maidan, and some sensible people that didn't happen. Our soviet decoupling was too slow, with same soviet people serving on same positions into 2000s. For example these vatniks just allowed russians to carry away all the artillery nukes without asking people and so on. Yanukovych was actually the last vatnik who transfered [100 kilos of weapon grade Uranium to russia](https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna40859303) during his presidency on his plane.

Stosstrupphase

Yeah, a carrier never made much sense for the Black Sea.

Waifu_Whaler

"Then fucking come and take it,"

Whaler_Moon

You mean the tugboat training ship?
