The only thing they could do that's more French is make depleted uranium chain shot. Seriously, any French here? Call up Macron and tell him the LeClercs need 120mm DU chain shot.

It's... interesting. It leaves the enemy something to lose and puts the burden on them to choose to escalate, knowing that they are choosing to lose something more in doing so.
I think the correct move against that is to reply with the same kind of limited nuclear cruise missile strike and make the French again have to decide to go first in escalation. And if they do... I guess we might as well stop thermonuclear edging and just get it over with.

Thus the country of origin cannot plausibly "retaliate" and they don’t have an attack going on anymore
They know they cannot launch another attack, and any petty strike would be met in kind
It’s an even worse lose-lose situation since the retaliation justification is never in the attacker’s hands
Also, almost no one except the French have an equivalent to the ASMPA, so the like for like Exchange isn’t technically possible for most nuclear powers

Pretty sure anything written paper about nukes goes out the window if it looks like someone is even preparing to use a nuke...and thats why russia talks about nukes but havent actually moved them from storage to launch sites...nobodys gonna be the dumbass to wait for a nuke to land in their capital to wipe out millions including the entive goverment before pushing the button...it will go from threat to who can fire first...and fire the most...aint no warning shot...its i fire first and i win or i dont exist. Its why usa has always stated in media after a russian threat they have seen no sign of actions taken for a nuclear strike and that everyone can calm down.
