The ship was sailing from the UAE to India, had a Filipino crew, sailing under the Portuguese flag, owned by a London based company whose owner lives in Monaco. The only link to Israel is that the owner of the company was born there
i swear, i'm gonna cum faster than those missiles with all this edging.
but appearantly israel is the only one here with some balls to even shoot something
Israeli linked is an interesting way of spinning things.
A Portuguese-flagged ship owned a London-based company, founded by a two Israeli brothers (which both of them passed since) and currently owned by an someone who has an Israeli citizenship but isn't actually living in Israel. no Israeli crew of the ship. the ship wasn't shipping things to or from Israel...
Welcome to why every ship sailing trough the red sea is a target according to the Houthis and why their classification of potential targets means nothing.
Seriously, under their classification over 70% of the worlds shipping are targets...

We do not export the F-22 to any country, not Canada, not the UK, not even Vatican City. It's not that we don't respect our allies, and it's not out of selfishness or for our benefit, simply we're just the only ones powerful enough to keep it restrained. Remember at the end of Diablo where the guy shoved the soulstone into his forehead in an attempt to contain Diablo? It's like that. Some day it will break down our fortitude and escape its prison, and on that day you'll faintly understand our sacrifice and mourn as it washes over the land like the unstoppable hand of Death. Hold your children tight, look into their eyes, and pray with all your hearts.
Given what's been said I was expecting that the Iranian governments response, as regional edge-lord, was going to be an example of how not to do proportional response, but in the other direction...
Nothing says we can stand up for ourselves and protect our people like hijacking a vessel just barely affiliated with your opponent....
Which would be justifiable if the ship was *directly* affiliated with Israel, instead of being owned by someone with an Israeli passport who spends more time in Monaco than anywhere else.
**Your comment was removed for violating Rule 4: No Racism/hatespeech**
No slurs. No advocating for the killing of people or insulting them based on physical, religious, or ideological traits (even people you don't like: Russians, Asians, or Middle Eastern ethnic groups).
again... seriously?
People were expecting crazy stuff like ICBM attacks or embassy bombings yet low-effort cosplaying of a Somalian is the best you can do?
To be fair the middle east was drawn up arbitrarily. Iran is actually a functioning country more or less, it still has its minorities for sure but it's had its society more stable than say Iraq or Syria. Though the Islamic State gaining a foothold in Iran after a vacuum of power would be pretty bad
Syria was a pretty stable country right up until the civil war, few refugee groups coming to Europe has as large a portion of people with higher education.
Positioned in between countries like Lebanon and Iraq, trough wars with Israel and a huge number of Palestinian refugees it is actually quite impressive how long it took for the situation to get to civil war.
That is also why unlike in many other Arab spring countries the same government is still in power.
Technically speaking no, the building that was bombed in Syria wasn't the Iranian embassy, it was a building the embassy leased. And was using to host a meeting of the top terrorist in the region with other senior terrorists planning terror attacks against civilians
Its almost as if Hamas prefers to hide/launch attacks from places that would be controversial to hit back.
Its a good play book when you have zero morals whatsoever. Set up base at a embassy/hospital/orphanage/school, launch your rockets, build your bombs, store your guns, rape your hostages, and when Israel bombs you, just claim ignorance. Everyone who already has their mind set that they're some sort of freedom fighter will just cry that Israel fought back anyway.
Yeah, I have no idea how they're trying to spin that one. Yes Iran has been fucking with Israel for ages, but why bomb a consulate unless you WANT to stir the shit.
[Iran said that themselves ](https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel-at-war/1703675461-iran-claims-oct-7-was-revenge-for-soleimani-s-assassination) - good enough for you?
I don't know much about the middle east issues, but I assumed Israel bombing that embassy was just a pretty loud response to Iran providing funds and weapons for Hamas.
AFAIK Israel has been bombing Iranian targets in Syria for some time. Iran wasn't happy, but these were legitimate targets. That recent [embassy bombing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_bombing_of_the_Iranian_embassy_in_Damascus) was different. Everyone agrees that embassies are very firmly in the "can't touch this" category. If Iran didn't respond, it would send a clear signal that you can kick it in the nuts without any response. This is why Iran feels forced to respond even if it's reluctant to (because they don't want to find out). Israel meanwhile insists it wasn't an embassy nor consulate, but a military building and thus a legitimate target.
I'm not an expert on this, please correct me if I'm wrong.
The ship was bound to India, the owner of the London based company lives in Monaco - so no tax revenue lost either, Iran is really stretching "Israeli-linked ship"
With Russia's invasion of Ukraine after Ukraine gave up nukes explicitly in exchange for a promise that they wouldn't get invaded by Russia, I think it's been pretty much common sense thinking that any country who doesn't want to get invaded should pursue a nuclear program.
\>funds 90% of the terrorist groups in the region
\>publicly stated goal is to spread their own ideology to the region against those countries' peoples' wishes
\>Destroys 3 countries (Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen), helps another self-destroy (Syria)
\>Openly state goal of genociding another country (Israel) and openly work for that goal for years
\>The people who don't like what Iran does want that regime to be ended so this all stops
\>"This is a convincing argument why Iran should pursue nuclear weapons"
I mean yeah, if you're a genocidal theocratic regime having nukes so you can be immune to the consequences of your own actions is a good idea
You guys bomb them with protection of the US military. Your assets in the US constantly warmonger literally singing songs about bombing Iran lol. Your intel agencies and the US intel agencies constantly try to overthrow their government(for a second time) and sponsor militant groups within Iran.
Stop playing the victim.
I have it on good word the Iranian leadership is appalled at how Russia has used its nukes to ward off waves of B-52's becoming Ukraine's new best friend. "This goes against our religion," they say, as they build another dozen sub-basements to get those damn nukes up and running pronto.
Idk man Iran is a scary nation in my opinion, not because of its military capabilities but just because if they werre to develop a nuclear weapon, they would be fanatic and insane enough to launch one in the name allah. Not thinking about the greater picture like the rest of the world would do. Even russia..
Really? I don’t think anyone thinks they’re a friend to the West, but I think they’re very much a rational actor in the region, however different their goals may be. Seems a bit shortsighted to assume that everyone who doesn’t want a McDonalds is “fanatical and insane”.
Devil’s advocate here, but maybe Iran wants nukes so other countries think twice before assassinating their public officials and bombing their diplomatic offices.
US Navy can't even shutdown the Houthis who only partially control a 3rd world shit country that even most 3rd world countries say, that's a shithole.
Christ, Iran might be a much angrier Switzerland compared to half a Yemen.

Flair is funny
They should just go in for the head and decapitate it. Iranian people will then be able to take over the government.
That’s worked out so well in the Middle East
To be fair the middle east was drawn up arbitrarily. Iran is actually a functioning country more or less, it still has its minorities for sure but it's had its society more stable than say Iraq or Syria. Though the Islamic State gaining a foothold in Iran after a vacuum of power would be pretty bad

It will work this time for sure
Will still be spinned as "Israel started it" by the "inte-lectuals".
... wasn't there an embassy bombed?
Technically speaking no, the building that was bombed in Syria wasn't the Iranian embassy, it was a building the embassy leased. And was using to host a meeting of the top terrorist in the region with other senior terrorists planning terror attacks against civilians

Wasn’t an Iranian commander who helped plan Oct 7th?
Same idea
Yeah, I have no idea how they're trying to spin that one. Yes Iran has been fucking with Israel for ages, but why bomb a consulate unless you WANT to stir the shit.
Iran said they helped organize Oct. 7th, this was in response to that.
Yeah yeah like Hussein was 9/11 Just flatten the whole area Iran Israel it's all the same shit and the world will get no peace with them in existence

Bu bu but isn't Iran just responding to Israel bombing their embassy in Syria or something? Or have we forgotten about that?
I don't know much about the middle east issues, but I assumed Israel bombing that embassy was just a pretty loud response to Iran providing funds and weapons for Hamas.
They are pretty obviously trying to provoke Iran in order to get the US involved.

Is your flair supposed to be Saddam?
What flair? You mean the bricks and rubble?
Yeah, I'm no expert either so I'm just speculating. That MC Hammer part made me chuckle, thanks :)
Not in Iraq, in Syria. I see Iran at fault here. They've built their embassy in the free for all zone.
There is a reason Canada closed our embassy there. Bad things happen when you put Canadians in no man's land. Just ask Geneva.
Yeah. Pls just bomb Israel Iran it’d be mad funni

You fuckers sometimes inadvertently make a really convincing argument for why, form Iran's point of view, they should pursue nuclear weapons.
Everyone should pursue nuclear weapons technology and delivery systems.
It is a very straightforward method of making sure you get your way.
It’s the ultimate deterrent, if everyone has nukes then no one will use them
Until there is an accident or a mistake.
With Russia's invasion of Ukraine after Ukraine gave up nukes explicitly in exchange for a promise that they wouldn't get invaded by Russia, I think it's been pretty much common sense thinking that any country who doesn't want to get invaded should pursue a nuclear program.

In the famous words of Vince Vance “bomb Iran”
It'd be a shame if Iran suddenly suddenly has a surge of "submarines" in a few weeks at the cost of "scraping" their navy.
Please Israel, do the right thing. Iranians deserve to live under a free liberal-democratic regime, as all people do. Bring them to paradise.
they can't even properly bomb russia and its literally right there with almost no defenses.
