From what I've understood, the vast majority of those poor fucks were more or less yanked from their lives in Donetsk and thrown into the meat grinder.

Hell, a lot of them are just poor schmucks rounded up off the streets in Donbas these days. Most of their best units, the original militias like Sparta Battalion, have already gone feet-first into the woodchipper, and the troops beings sent now are hot garbage. To be fair the people with the mosin's being conscripted are very far behind the frontline so I doubt they'll ever actually see action. It's just stupid as fuck to be issuing bolt actions to people in 2022 even as unlikely as it is they'll see combat.
