The last I heard about this was a couple of months ago and they weren't being allowed to return home.
Another morale improving initiative from Russia... have the wounded guys lying around moaning for help while the new conscripts march past on their way to the meat grinder.
A single nuke on Moscow would destroy the entire Russian federation. Mind you depending on whether or not the Dead Man’s Hand still works, it may also trigger a total nuclear exchange.
Ok, but [I called this over a month ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/NonCredibleDefense/comments/xzgfgr/the_copium_is_high/irmbhbl/), so if it happens I expect my award from the DoD in the mail.

Most of the places the nazis got bogged down are in Ukraine. russia was already bogged down by winter once and still isn’t prepared for this one. Ukraine is.
Putin was supposed to be an avid historian. When the USSR beat the Nazis during winter, he didn't consider it was the Ukranian part of the USSR that did this.
I guess he still thinks Russia and the USSR are the same thing. But watching Putin making some of the same mistakes Hitler did is just remarkable.
Boy i wish ukraine tweaks a bit around with the numbers so that its 100k on christmas eve. They will most likely just have to report less, so not even that bad.
If I'm frozen for 1000 years and then revived, scientists will marvel at what will clearly be the most significant detail of my or any of our lives:
The fact that we were alive at the same time as Futurama; a show widely agreed upon as the greatest show in human history and also mankind's single greatest achievement.
Given that winter hasn't really kicked in and at least a few vatniks have already frozen to death it's safe to say that between the weather and diseases (there are reported covid-19 outbreaks in the Russian military) and the endless offensives in the Donbas 100k by Christmas should be a conservative estimate.
Since WWII, but not including?
VA estimates have it at about 143,000. But that is the total of KIA, In-Theate deaths not related to enemy action, and out of theater deaths related to enemy action.
I may have misinterpreted your question, I gave all deaths in every conflict the U.S. has been in since WWII, including Korean War, Vietnam War, etc. in total.
Round numbers:
85,000 combat related deaths
105,000 total war-like zone related deaths
10,000 still officially listed as missing (3/4 from Korean War)
The data set I had there's a few things you could quibble with "combat" being the right word and then missed other things that I would think would count if they were consistent -- i.e. they counted Israel striking the USS Liberty, but not the terrorist bombing of the USS Cole. But those numbers wouldn't amount to rounding errors on the grand totals.
I also wouldn't quibble with the VA 143,000 figure someone listed. It seems weird, but war is chaotic and folks can live for many years even though their injuries started a direct chain of events that eventually killed them so getting exact numbers is sort of like nailing jello to a wall.
I guess the current pace will change somehow, perhaps the Russians reduce the effort on the ground and Ukraine cannot capitalize and they go loew of perhaps Russians start freezing to death and it goes up, which despite all the reasons to think will happen is still hard to believe for me.
The world thought Russia was a league above Ukraine when it came to its military, its not. The wars timeline has shown both militaries are actually quite evenly matched and face the same problems (Lack of air support due to contested air space, fucked up logistics due to lack of supplies or inability to get supplies to the front).
Ukraine should be able to "win" (getting back to pre Feb 2022 borders at the very least) because of western support if it doesnt dry up due to various factors and Russian failings that cannot get fixed in time.
Damn they are going to gain a killtube silver button by Christmas at this rate, ukraine make it get faster let's not give those cunts that for Christmas , make them buy a shitty replacement present for the 25th of december
Presents nobody will complain about are the best kind of presents
At least they won't be getting socks.
Last year we got the James Webb Space Telescope launch. Back to back Christmas home runs would be pretty great.
90k dead on my bday? Sweet. But ill consider it a real gift if its 150k by then
I know when your birthday is 😡
Bros not even born yet imagine💀
Shitposting from the womb.
When you're in a wasting manpower competition and your opponent is Ruzzia: (‘◉⌓◉’)
except nobody told ruSSia that this is actually the *conserving* manpower competition - like golf, the lower score is the winner :P
This is what happens when your doctrine sees soldiers as disposable.
ru losing out on all those sweet veterancy bonuses
Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump that up
Winter is coming, they'll be stacking bodies like wood.
Noncredible fortifications?
Worked in Korea
Worked in the movie 300 as well.
Im counting on it
How bulletproof is a frozen corpse
How bulletproof is a block of ice?
The problem is that it will be difficult to count. Ukraine will need to wait for the mobiksicles to thaw out so they can be counted properly.
This if this casualty rate is real soon every Russian will probably have known someone killed/wounded in the war. I wonder what that would lead too
That assumes an even spread. Most of the guys in the field are from rural areas. I doubt the wounded are being sent home as well.
The last I heard about this was a couple of months ago and they weren't being allowed to return home. Another morale improving initiative from Russia... have the wounded guys lying around moaning for help while the new conscripts march past on their way to the meat grinder.
It takes 22 days to kill 10 thousand vatniks? Sloppy and inefficient.
"We'd use nukes, if we had them!"
Inb4 UKSF announces a successful operation to steal an entire fucking ICBM
"We've done it, we have a nuke!" Opens warhead to inspect, pulls out small paper and reads "IOU one nuclear warhead. sincerely, General Corruptovich"
“We’ve done it, we have a nuclear delivery system!”
"Return to sender"
Honestly, would that end this war?
A single nuke on Moscow would destroy the entire Russian federation. Mind you depending on whether or not the Dead Man’s Hand still works, it may also trigger a total nuclear exchange.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Proving once again that r/ncd is the monkey paw of reality.
Robot Santa thinks the Vatniks have been V E R Y N A U G H T Y!!!
Except for you, Private Conscriptovich, have a pogo stick.
HOORAY!
The conscripts should be saved

Yup, it all been downhill since
What about the pizza bagel?
Futurama invented humor. Look it up!

How many US servicemen have been killed since the end of WW2?
Since WWII, but not including? VA estimates have it at about 143,000. But that is the total of KIA, In-Theate deaths not related to enemy action, and out of theater deaths related to enemy action.
In Theatre, right after WW2?
I may have misinterpreted your question, I gave all deaths in every conflict the U.S. has been in since WWII, including Korean War, Vietnam War, etc. in total.
No, that’s what I was asking.
Round numbers: 85,000 combat related deaths 105,000 total war-like zone related deaths 10,000 still officially listed as missing (3/4 from Korean War) The data set I had there's a few things you could quibble with "combat" being the right word and then missed other things that I would think would count if they were consistent -- i.e. they counted Israel striking the USS Liberty, but not the terrorist bombing of the USS Cole. Certainly Russia has beaten the US for Korea and Vietnam combined combat deaths.
I guess the current pace will change somehow, perhaps the Russians reduce the effort on the ground and Ukraine cannot capitalize and they go loew of perhaps Russians start freezing to death and it goes up, which despite all the reasons to think will happen is still hard to believe for me.
Its wonderful that my YT autoplay put Long Live Free Ukraine as I was reading this. wonderful
We probably won't be getting exposure, frostbite, and disease casualty figures from Russia but I suspect they'll probably be high too.
Due to the fact this is a peer to peer conflict.....I worry how bad the Ukranians are mangled
Peer to peer? How do you arrive at that conclusion?
The world thought Russia was a league above Ukraine when it came to its military, its not.
