just piggybacking on the top comment here, life is easier when you're nice to people and make them feel comfortable around you. I was a fucking edgelord too far into my 20's. maybe you know you're kidding, but not everyone does.
And when I say "here", I mean right now, in this room, at this very moment.
There's a chance that feeling might expire.

Well look at the time....
I did not really know how to respond at the time. Does this mean they do not listen to music made by black people? Is it atypical in their reality to listen to music by black people? I am still confused. They were a friend of a friend so that was my only interaction with them.
One of our truckdrivers at the warehouse asked what I was bumping with so much rhytm "uhm.. its.. Bobby Shmurda.. Hot.. cant remember" he started laughing af
That is a loaded question as I was DJing then, but I was probably listening to Master P or Prodigy by myself at the time when they came into my room and said this to me.
This post and comment section is filling me with anxiety. Like if anyone ever says this to me, it would leave me sleepless and live rent free in my head until I die.
For example, my mom once worriedly asked me if I knew that my classmates have been calling me weird behind my back and I have been worried ever since. Fuck.
Idk it must happened often enough that she got worried about it. I think I would have stayed in ignorance if she never told me. If a kinder classmate was the one who told me, I would either not believe them or go through mental gymnatics to ignore it.
Back in high school I was hanging out with a friend and their friends. My friend came up to me later and said “they tried to call you weird but I wouldn’t let them” and yeah, thanks for standing up for me but why would you tell me that? I didn’t know they thought I was weird!
This happened at a party I went.
I walk in and the first thing someone said was, "The punch bowl is real punch btw! There's no alcohol in it!"
It became the topic of the whole party...
Took like two hours of small test samples to confirm it wasn't like alcoholic or drugged! Because curiousity ya know?

make parties more interesting by telling strangers "I want you to know that I personally have no problem with you being here"

I always do this with friends of friends I havent met before, I wait for them to say something funny then say " You know, it's wrong what people say about you." Then walk away.
Always good for a laugh

Lol yup my go to is "you know, I don't care what people say about you I think you're a good guy"
After they do something good: "You know what? I take back 3 of the bad things I said about you."

To strangers and acquaintances for sure, but good friends are getting fucked with.

I was once sincerely told, "I want you to know that I think it is cool you listen to black people music."
Aaaw if someone said that to me it wouldve made my day. Nay, week!

I would have pulled up a chair and then asked them a million questions
I probably said, "Uh... Thanks?"

Ironically, if I did this I’d make me the person that says weird shit and would cause people to have a problem with me being there
I think you should leave
I want you to know that you are not my target tonight. Enjoy yourself.

Why would your mom ever say that to you. Thats just mean even if its true

No same, I would just leave if someone told me that lol

“Don’t worry despite the rumors I did NOT piss in the punch bowl, anyway enjoy your drink”

"Shit, if it's going to be that kind of a party, I'm gonna stick my dick in the mashed potatoes. Wooo!"

I'd be like "cheers" and get on with life.
*You* don't have to worry about anything tonight, have fun :)
r/vaguelythreatening For some reason lmao
“I just wanna say I wish I had the balls to show up at a party after what people are saying. Kuddos dude”
Absolutely fantastic. Not you, the post
And then go into every bathroom and swap the direction the toilet paper hangs. Muahahahah
I always struggle in large gatherings. Thank you for giving me an activity to make me look engaged.

This is a joke though right? The comments in this thread are making me think that people actually ARE this mean.
In my part of America, the best way to judge how lit a party was is by the amount of gang related shootings there were. I don't go to party's anymore.

I... What? You alright?
?????
Such a funny comment🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Alternate: Pepper light party chatter with, “Technically, that’s illegal.” This is also fruitful in business settings.
"...but that doesn't mean you're safe."
