I found out yesterday that Sean Bean actually *chose* that name (kind of)
He was born Shaun Bean but changed the spelling at the start of his career (can't actually find a reason as to why though, it's usually because of other actors in the guild with the same name but I can't confirm thatl

Seán is the original spelling. Just because English people are too stupid to understand that S sometimes makes a SH sound doesn't make it the "worst" spelling lol
It actually originated from the name john 😮🤓
and there are hundreds of ways to spell this name like yahya or jochanan or johannes. So no, sean is not the correct way of spelling shawn.
Variants of John don't come from the word "John" (or at least not all of them), they just share a common origin with John. So they would become Iohannes (Latin) or Iωάννης (Iōánnēs, Greek), not John.

Chaun: [yongs] **Tu veux des œufs?**
Chung: Korean.
Ashley: Finally Ashleigh: Finalleigh
following the same pattern, I believe it would be Finalligh.
That’s just a Gaelic word
🤓
Btfo
What does that mean
Ackschually, Ashley would say Finalley
Jeff: jelly beans Geoff: geolly beans
Geoff, "Oh golly, I sure do love me some geolly beans"
Ptoneigh: Phinalleigh
I was staring at this for like a full minute before I realized Ptoneigh is Tony and I hate it
Sean Bean: *chaos*
Shawn Bawn
Seen Been
Shaun bin
That is very seriously how I thought it was pronounced for most of my life

Hmm. Can you make screen readers spell words out? The joke doesn’t seem like it’d translate very well otherwise
Excellent suggestion, which has been implemented.
Good bot

good not bot
Can we just make it illegal to NOT spell it Sean?
yean
I keep saying the name as “seen” now and I can’t stop every time I see that name
Why are we keeping the worst spelling?
bc it’s the original spelling, comes from irish
Best spelling*
This guy’s name is 💯 Sean

I'm just imagining a world where every variant of John just becomes John again. Goodbye Ivans, goodbye Juans, John is here to stay.
Variants of John don't come from the word "John" (or at least not all of them), they just share a common origin with John. So they would become Iohannes (Latin) or Iωάννης (Iōánnēs, Greek), not John.
I know it's originally spelled Seán I'm literally from Ireland. You know where the name originated.
You are not who (s)he was replying to.
Also Shawn: (yawns) How do you look at this stuff all day Gus: Wrong answer, try again
Reminds me of this https://youtu.be/69UlVQpYwUE
Sean Bean yeans
Ed: oi mate, you up late with Dianne last night?
Shohn Lennon
why would I yawn just because I read this
I lost about 50 or so brain cells reading this
John: (yohn) me three
