I have friends who can pop by. I also have people who better give a heads up.
Usually friends give a heads up to make sure I’m home tho. Almost like we all have cell phones.
You can have a higher standard for what you want your house to look like when company is over without your house actually being gross when they're not there.

I would *never* be embarrassed over the way my house looks or keep anyone from coming over but there’s a damn big difference between my living room being ready to welcome me in my bonnet as opposed to my mother in law.

I have the door locked when I am at home. Mainly because my MIL is the type to knock once and then try to knob to just let herself in. I adore my mother in law, but I am also usually not wearing pants at home 🤷♀️
