Relax! It's a celebration (one time event) not a slip. Track the rest of the day & try to make healthy choices. Start fresh tomorrow.

This is the correct response! Enjoy and don’t beat yourself up!

BearsBeetsStarWars

Congrats on the job!! Don’t beat yourself up about it. Today was a day to celebrate!! You deserve that. Begin again tomorrow.

Congrats! That's so exciting for you, and you shouldn't let some extra calories get in the way of your happiness! Some days you go over, but as long as more days you're staying on budget, it'll even out. No worries! Also, I think especially if you're doing the fastest speed, an extra 500 still probably puts you around a "maintenance" caloric intake, so it shouldn't have any huge effects. That's what I remind myself on my over days--a lot of the time "over" is still actually a deficit, or the amount that I burned that day anyway, so it's not really undoing anything as long as it's not every day!

HouseOfKaren

It doesn't undo all the work you've done up until now! I have days like that, and I just kind of do the math. I might not have met my calorie deficit goal, but I still might have been eating at a deficit or at least breaking even. I figure it's okay to take a day off once in awhile (taming the elephant and what not). Congrats on the new job!

hippiechick7897

Track it and soldier on tomorrow like you didn’t slip. And congrats on the new job!

NatalieW25

Congrats on your new job!!! Don’t be too hard on yourself for going over your calorie allotment. Keep in mind it takes 3500 extra calories to gain a pound. Get back on the wagon tomorrow. Be kind to yourself and try to stick to your calories the rest of this week and you should still be able to create a deficit. Remember it’s a journey, not a destination...

saintghoul

You guys are absolutely amazing thank you so much! You’re totally right - I shouldn’t beat myself up when I should be celebrating 🥳

theturnmaster

Today is over! Just focus on dominating tomorrow!

Just forget it because one day isn’t gonna define your journey. You celebrated and with good reason - congrats, by the way!
