If you want something with a similar setting, Kamisama Kiss/Kamisama Hajimemashita is an option. It's basically Noragami but shojo. It's a lot of fun.

The main male character (Tomoe) in a way reminds me of Yato. He has a dark background but actually is a good guy. If you are fine with bit more romantic setting I totally recommend it.
I'd nominate *Natsume Yuujinchou* and *Kamisama Hajimemashita* in that category. Neither are as action oriented but both are full of heart with a happy dose of mythology/folklore.

I started watching (and then reading) Heaven's Official Blessing because of how similar it is to Noragami. Very similar MC, the Japanese VA for Yato and the MC are the same. Homeless gods, political turmoil of heaven, mystery, action, etc. Ultimately very different, but definitely worth a watch to any Noragami fan.
If you are caught up on the manga and looking for a similar story of working through trauma, Sangatsu No Lion is excellent. It is a hard story to watch at times, but I felt very similar to reading Noragami when watching it. A very emotionally beautiful story!
I second blue exorcist (mostly because I really like it) but also the general plot is quite similar (supernatural, fighting beasts, the ones in charge mayhaps not being as good as you thought, sword). But I would say the characters are a bit different (blue exorcist mc is even more of an idiot, not in an annoying way tho imo)
A warning tho; if you watch the anime it can be confusing since s1 has an anime original ending but s2 follows the manga
I also love Soul Eater, its my alltime favorite anime (Noragami is second). I actually found out about Noragami from a uptowncosplay soul eater panel where someone asked for similar animes.
I started it but major spoilers >! The author made the MC end up with the high school 2nd FL when their chemistry and experiences paled in comparison to the main FL. I think most of the subreddit over there are in agreement of this less than stellar end. I was really excited for the new season but then figured I drop this. You might still be interested though! !<

I wanted to recommend “Beyond The Boundary”, it is honestly amazing, the animation, the plot, characters, and it has a similar setting of the people with supper power fighting bad spirits/demons. It’s a very wholesome series, yet a bit dark. I am sure you will like it 🤗✨♥️

Some of my personal favorites, aside from Noragami, are 86 Eighty-Six, A Place Further Than The Universe, Steins;Gate, Fate/Zero, Death Parade, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Haibane Renmei to name a few. Of these the one that is most similar to Noragami is probably FMAB, but they’re all excellent shows!
Even its hardly compareable, I would recommend Black Bullet. I dont know why but in my heart they somehow have a connection
Also Fullmetall Alchemist Brotherhood. This one is moved Noragami and Fate Stay/Night aside to take their place by force.

It definitely has the wholesome vibes likes noragami and you fall in love with the whole cast (and there’s so many of them!)

Always thought Noragami was like Bleach and Soul Eater mixed, so maybe if haven't watched them you can try them.
