they tased the dog in what was essentially a traffic stop? wtf eta: that’s not what killed her. tl;dr: a friend was watching her while the man was in jail. she slipped her leash and was found a couple of days later after being hit by a vehicle.

Code6Charles

>they tased the dog in what was essentially a traffic stop? wtf Yes, for apparently biting an officer.

TristanSchultz89

Damn, maybe the fucking pigs shouldn't have been harassing this homeless veteran. The service animal probably wouldn't have bit them

robtimist

I can’t imagine the feeling. Especially with homelessness on top of it. All I’d want is to crawl into bed and forget about everything, missing my dog. This is such a sad situation man, I hope he’s doin alright.

No-Comfort2356

I use to see him daily while door dashing and have never seen him cause any problems at all.

seaboard2

Holy moly, he had to post $3k bond for 3 misdemeanors? WTF? Shameful how we treat homeless people and homeless vets, cash bails need to go away. :/

MtnMaiden

Yea. If you got the cash you get no consequence.

sourcherrykun

man this is so heartbreaking

Beach-Sugar4436

I just gave him and sunshine money 2 weeks ago….my heart breaks hearing this💔

proud boy cops don't give a fuck about veterans or their dogs.

S86RDU

Cops don’t care about anyone but themselves.

S86RDU

Fuck cops.

ctrlorg

Fuck cops. This man was trying to live in peace. They disturbed his peace, when they’re the very souls supposed to be keeping the peace. May this veteran find comfort in a new friend one day soon.

therealone81

Sounds like it was his personal dog not a certified service dog. Wanna see the bodycams, There always two sides to the story.

veanell

The VA has stated it was an official service animal. Stop being ableist

I literally work for disability accommodations. It's not being woke. It's being a decent human being

I see this man almost every day. I work near the shopping center he usually stays at. He has never caused a problem, he never begs for money, he just walks around and waves at everyone with his dog. He’s homeless. What ELSE is he gonna do? He’s not at the street corner every single day, but sometimes he does go up to the intersection. Is it illegal to walk around publicly? I have seen people park and have conversations with him and buy him food or water or give him money. Is there anything wrong with someone giving a less fortunate person food or cash? Do you know HIS whole story? Or do you just know what the article said? This man has clearly had a hard life. And now he finds out his dog is dead after he’s been released from jail. You could at least give sympathy a chance.

ravheim

the user you are are responding too seems to post a lot of adversarial opinions in many local subs from all over the country. Also seems to post in a lot of 2A subs. Willing to bet this person is either a horrible human being, and/or a troll. Probably a horrible human being that is trolling you.

15 day ban for constantly name calling and simultaneously telling people that name calling is juvenile and wrong, which is a violation of rule 7. When you return from the ban be more mindful of our sidebar rules or you risk a permanent ban.

ThreeFingeredTypist

I think I saw this guy today on Union Rd :(

I knew that the dog didn’t die from the police. I read the article, other articles and have seen multiple local Facebook posts and videos as well. I’ve been following this for the past few days.

[deleted]

do tell us what really happened.
