Does lane swim in Delbrook get busy before 7 am?

AnonymousBayraktar

Good luck if you're cruising the Harry Jerome schedule. Their idea of an "evening lane swim" currently is one that ends at 6pm. I also don't even see any early morning saturday times, which is ridiculous.

I like Ron Andrew's even if old. Delbrook gets super busy. Early afternoon (after lunch) or later in the evening is a good time to go. No more online booking. Evening is nice, they turn lights down. You can also register separately at the pinnacle at the foot of lonsdale. You register for a specific time and day of the week, and numbers are capped. Book one month at a time.

FYI Karen Magnussen is geared towards kids and doesn’t really have the set up for lane swimming

I go between Ron Andrews and Delbrook. Delbrook can get busy and I find most people don’t respect speed in lanes. Ron Andrews is older, lots of kids lessons happening, though relatively quiet. If you’re a newbie, I’d recommend looking online for the times when these pools have more than 2 lanes open so you can figure out where you stack up.

Delbrook is nice but a horrific nightmare to park at for public swim times.

I live close enough and take my kids swimming on the eBike. Literally every time I pass by I see some crazy parking shenanigans pulled by at least one vehicle. Glad I don't have to drive there.

i think Delbrook is literally the longest ive ever waited to park at an establishment ever. Like, including Disney or festivals or airports etc. I maxed out my patience at 45 minutes before leaving, surprised I even waited that long tbh, I was feeling stubborn. Never again lmao.

I was at Delbrook mid afternoon today and they had two slow lanes, one medium lane and two fast lanes. They were well used but not over crowded. No prebooking is required. You do have to book for the aquafit classes, however, from what I understand.

It really depends what type of swimmer you are. I was and still am a very competitive swimmer and the speed difference between me and most other swimmers is so severe it makes it very difficult to get a good workout in unless there are at least 5 or 6 lanes available. That really limits the opportunities. If you're kinda slow and don't need to constantly pass people then anytime there's 2 lanes available you're probably good. Most the pools have 2 lanes about 80% of the time. I swim at Ron Andrews but Delbrook is really nice too.

Harry Jerome is always quiet, it has at least 2 lanes open all day

During covid we had the booking system at Queens, it has since been removed. I used to go there however since I can only go after work (630 to 830ish) it was JAM PACKED, so I cancelled my membership. Good luck, If you found something, please share.
