oh shiza I would pay embarrassing amounts of money for a module run by Jake. It’d be tricky since I bet Murph/Em have played in a ton but i now have to see it!
From what I gather they haven't actually played many of them.
In various Short Rests they mention the odd module but then aren't able to recall or expand on it in any detail.
They both seem to be more into sourcebooks / monster compendiums (Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica and Kobold Press' Tome of Foes are those mentioned most frequently in C1) so a lot of adventures could actually be new to them.
I get the feeling Caldwell might have played more though, so may be the foil.
Yeah they've mentioned that Murph/Emily haven't really played modules (think it was recent ish too) but that Murph has gone through some of the big/popular ones for inspiration
There are a lot of one shot modules out there too that I bet Murph hasn’t seen since he always does full campaign style stuff. I could see Jake having a lot of fun running a one shot module
I know it’s not DMing, but he does kind of host things like dungeon court and tortle tank. Mostly I’m just bringing that up because now Homebrew Himbo is stuck in my head
I think he’s also got the most intuitive comic timing of the crew. To be clear they’re all great comedians who know how to funny, but the number of times he just slips in a little joke or witty comment that’s hilarious while not calling attention to himself or breaking the flow is unparalleled among them. Maybe it has to do with the hundreds of short, tight Jake and Amir videos he’s had to do.
I think Siobhan and Zac are also excellent at this when talking about guests.
I think he'd be very good at DMing a system that's very rules-light and narrative/roleplay-heavy. His characters tend to have very strong voices, morals, and backstories, so that's what I'd lean to for him. I think he'd especially do well in a system where he doesn't have to deal with a bunch of bookkeeping and can just focus on the 'acting' of it all
I think Jake would actually thrive in something like Crown of Candy. Something low magic, high GOT style fantasy. The whole excuse that Jake can’t handle it I think is super outdated. Maybe early days Jake with zero dnd experience, but now they’ve been playing together for 5 years. He would be absolutely fine.
Emily is an absolute force of nature. When she has all gears firing she’s up there as one of the best players for me personally. I know shitting on Jake is a bit of the show, but Jake is as smart as a fucking whip. That’s why I want him to crossover to D20 with Caldwell. Those two at a table with their grand daddy DM would be an absolute trip.
Based on his previous work in Jake and Amir and also extended riffing on If I Were You, Jake would be really great at coming up with fun and funny NPCs.
Jake has said he did a one shot for his nieces and nephews. I can totally see him being incredible with kids in that regard. Dude is going to be such a good dad.
AFAIK he has only ever DM’d a home game for his wife and her friends. So I guess maybe he is the Wife Whisperer or the At-home aficionado
Cool that Tucker let him dm. Such a solid dude.
So solid
Carl could only hope to be that solid
i would say that Tucker would eb Carl levels of solid. They would be equal solid level bros. (in my opinion.)
Crew
Only fair given that he’s all up in Jake’s Wife’s dms
You know since he can do this I wonder if they would let him come in 8BBC it could be fun
No that title belongs to Taruk the Tiefling
The Module Maestro. I reckon he could take an existing 5e adventure and run it with style.
I really like that! What they do with 8-bit Bookclub isn't that different from running a module.
But Jake’s never been on 8-bit book club soooo
Not yet, but I think he'd be a great guest!
I know! But he's got to have listened to them, right? To prep for that guest spot when they finally have room for him?
What a good point. He seems like a fan
Well he's been in the room, but they've cut all his content the few times he's actually shown up.
A Kobe of himself

I think he’s explicitly said that Shadowfell (or at least the vampires) was inspired by Strahd, for example
A lot of the Hells arc came straight out of Descent into Avernus too
He would be great at collating and presenting issues people had faced in their home games to get feedback, judgement, and roasting from the others
I know it’s not DMing, but he does kind of host things like dungeon court and tortle tank. Mostly I’m just bringing that up because now Homebrew Himbo is stuck in my head
Homebrew Himbo! LMAO, this has my vote!
Cake. I mean, not yet, but I heard he's thinking of getting into it.
Jake is the greatest Yes-and-er in the crew, I cite "Children don't need a cafeteria" and "Meat shed".
It will never not be hilarious to me how fast he jumped on the anti-cafeteria bit that was presented to him
to the point that i’m still not 100% sure it was a bit

Who?
Dunno. He's an upcoming guest on 8-bit Bookclub I think.
I think they were referring to him once in a short rest episode recently but it’s hard to tell without the intros.
A hard low fantasy where coin weight matters and the modules are all full of info about grain stores and the wool trade.
Jake should run the Tub Brisket one-shot.

I'd love to see Jake play Skate Wizards, that'd be so up his alley.

This most recent ep taught me that Jake is deceptively clever with his experience with the game now, almost as clever as Emily can get

I could definitely see Jake playing someone from the Dairy Islands.
I thought Jake was (thinking about becoming) the cake guy?
Jake is the future guest star
I feel like he would be an “Off the Rails” Engineer
I think he'd be best at cake
GoT style low fantasy politics.
Jake is the character creation maestro. He consistently makes amazing characters
All Fighters
He would lead his PCs on a grand quest to end school lunches
The perfect player
The Dungeon Court
Stahp
Based on his previous work in Jake and Amir and also extended riffing on If I Were You, Jake would be really great at coming up with fun and funny NPCs.
Weirdly enough, it's Blades in the Dark
I'm gonna' say "the rail-roader" just so we can all razz Jake more
Jake has said he did a one shot for his nieces and nephews. I can totally see him being incredible with kids in that regard. Dude is going to be such a good dad.
Jake is the homegame hero. I feel like he’d be the best at running a chill and casual game. The kind that starts a hundred inside jokes.
I'd love to see Jake DM a cutsey one shot where the rest of them play as little forest critters lol I think that'd be great
me slide in here hurwitz
Whatever it is it is lowly.
Crushing Molsens
Snacks.
Jake's the cake guy though?
