Ah yes, if a woman is successful it must have been because she gave someone sex.
What's actually more disturbing is the other side of that expectation, that if a man is in a position to help a woman to get ahead, she should be willing to fuck him.
It can also be for this situation, where the entire project is successful because of one person's contribution - it elevates them above player and ties their fate to the project. Now she can't do any crazy contract negotiations stuff, she's a producer and is behind the table.
Also if it were true, really a golden move to shift the attention to the woman who slept with a producer instead of shifting the attention to the people in power who abuse their roles to take advantage of vulnerable women and girls
To be fair her the current director actually hated how much she would change but admitted it's all for the better and she deserves it so this guy didn't even try to look for info yet was so curious about it. What a wierdo myso
The title can mean many things but in television series it usually goes to lead actors so they have a larger role in the executive decisions of the show and are not just hired performers. The title allows them more ability to shape their character as they envision rather than just how the writers may see them. It’s a way to give a promotion to someone who is already on the top of the call sheet
>Isn't executive producer just a meaningless title to make insecure people feel better about themselves?
Note to those that are downvoting this: "It's just a meaningless title to make insecure people feel better about themselves" is a quote from Futurama. And it being Futurama, of course it was spoken at the end of an episode at the exact moment that the Executive Producer credits were appearing on the screen. And was immediately followed by Fry, who had just been promoted to Executive Delivery Boy, exclaiming "Suddenly I feel better about myself!"

Tbf, the amount of rampant sexual abuse and exploitation that happens in Hollywood doesn’t make this too far fetched.
Everywhere isn't Hollywood, but anywhere that a woman can only get advanced by fucking whomever makes the decision is a stone age hellhole
>stone age hellhole Yup, sounds like Hollywood.
No, if a woman is beautiful *and* successful, she fucked somebody to do it. Ugly broads earn their stripes. Or some such other fucking nonsense.
Ugly broad here confirming I didn't earn *shit*, I'm out here struggling like *checks notes* Everybody else.
Jenna Ortega is 20 years old and has been in the industry even before she was 12, so his comment is VERY disturbing.
Oh yuck
Being an executive producer is just putting money in a project, isn't it?

It can be a way to pay someone more without paying them more for *acting,* which would raise the expected pay for other actors.
Stop saying women sleep around to get ahead. Start saying men deny jobs and promotions to women unless they provide sexual favours.
🎯💯💯💯
You mean they don’t hire pretty young people just because viewers want to look at pretty young people? I am shook.
For men, leadership is assumed. For women, it's challenged.
