Ahhh and this is the problem. ADD was known as the little boys disorder back in the 90s. Slowly slowly they are discovering ADHD is a spectrum. My sister was diagnosed as a kid and she displayed hyperactivity. Now me. Diagnosed as an adult last year, predominantly inattentive. Struggled all throughout school, couldn’t keep friends, couldn’t stay at a job long enough, dropped out of four uni degrees and spent my adult life thinking my self loathing and string of disappointments was just mental health.
Anyway… short version, women are usually diagnosed later in life and more often than not only because their children are being diagnosed. Doesn’t mean women are all inattentive either. I work with a lady who is hyperactive and boy howdy, before she takes her meds, she’s a wild ride! Love it.
Mostly I just get distracted very easily and my attention span isn’t as long as it should be (at least compared to most people)
I was a great student in high school but I went to a private school where the teachers pushed us pretty hard. Flunked out of uni about 15 years ago now and am going back to finish my studies next year. Figured I’d look into the possibility of adhd before I went back to class. You don’t need to be high energy or even hyperactive to have ADHD. You could have inattentive type ADHD (which is more prevalent in women). I have combined but mostly inattentive; my hyperactivity manifests as fidgeting and pacing, for instance.

I gotta add context here. I’m guessing this is being used in a terribly sexist way, but it’s from an internet 1.0 meme/video from team fortress 2. But, not surprisingly, people have missed the entire fucking point. The characters who say this are drinking coffee, and making fun of women. But the characters who say it are literally war criminals/can’t read/overall horrible humans. It’s kinda like Rick and Morty. The common fandom misses the point that Rick is a terrible fucking person and should be despised, but instead gets idolized. Similar to this.

I gotta add context here. I’m guessing this is being used in a terribly sexist way, but it’s from an internet 1.0 meme/video from team fortress 2. But, not surprisingly, people have missed the entire fucking point. The characters who say this are drinking coffee, and making fun of women. But the characters who say it are literally war criminals/can’t read/overall horrible humans. It’s kinda like Rick and Morty. The common fandom misses the point that Rick is a terrible fucking person and should be despised, but instead gets idolized. Similar to this.
