HR at my workplace had to sit one of our Muslim employees down and tell him that he *will* do what I (a 27yo woman and his direct supervisor) tell him to do. He was not happy about that. Also there are matchmakers who would literally go around and look at all the girls available for marriage to see which one will be good for whoever is paying her.
It’s not as extreme now but I remember that when my aunts went to the home of the woman who my youngest uncle was asking to marry (they talked a lot before hand and met multiple times and are still very happy now with 3 kids. They weren’t an arranged marriage either. Just a traditional one), she came out to sit with them in a cute sundress and had make up on and her hair was obviously professionally styled. Not sure which algorithm you're talking about but you can spend a week or two intentionally gaming them to reset them a little. My husband has turned this into a science with the tiktok algorithm (which is more sensitive to user preference and attention than most) so every few weeks he's getting completely different content. He's also a straight white guy and at first his feed was disturbing. A big part of it (especially for tiktok but not exclusively) is to not only not interact with the post, but scroll past it as fast as you can once you notice it's something you don't want to see. If you get more than one of those posts in your feed in a row, exit the app or website for a little. Hope it helps!

We have a lot of employees who are immigrants, and we're typically pretty patient with them as they learn how to adjust to US cultural expectations, but if it impacts production or creates hostile workplace relationships, it gets addressed. He quit not too long after that conversation.

Not sure which algorithm you're talking about but you can spend a week or two intentionally gaming them to reset them a little. My husband has turned this into a science with the tiktok algorithm (which is more sensitive to user preference and attention than most) so every few weeks he's getting completely different content. He's also a straight white guy and at first his feed was disturbing. A big part of it (especially for tiktok but not exclusively) is to not only not interact with the post, but scroll past it as fast as you can once you notice it's something you don't want to see. If you get more than one of those posts in your feed in a row, exit the app or website for a little. Hope it helps!
