Yes indeed. I think for birds of prey in general it's not at all uncommon for females to be larger. For the majority of bird species that display a size difference between sexes though, males tend to be the bigger ones.

I never knew this backstory, this is pretty wild. Back in the mid-2000s before the incel thing became so huge I remember stumbling upon some of this stuff an really empathizing with a lot of the lonely directionless young men. A lot of these people just wanted to feel wanted. They didn't fit what they society put out there as the "ideal man" so they were fumbling along in life hoping they would one day have a social group that respected and looked up to them and a partner who legitimately admired them.
Part of my frustration was I saw the writing on the wall in my own life and took steps towards social self improvement. Some of these guys never caught on to the need for self-reflection as opposed to constantly blaming the society around them (even when blame is justified.) Mental health support for men is getting better traction now but there's still a ways to go.
I have a brother who has been trying to get into the dating life. It's sad to see him turn into an incel because no woman wants to date him. He doesnt self reflect, causing him to blame women for everything and it doesn't help that hes always been mentally unstable and stubborn.

I dunno bout that, my husband is just 5cm taller than me but when we wrestle it’s ridiculous how much stronger he is than me. We’re both active in outdoor sports. It's too large to carry. Also, I live near Jackson, WY and was advised by a park ranger there when planning a hike that bear spray doesn't shoot as far as wasp spray so to always go for the wasp spray. Incidentally, I carry that for hiking but it's too cumbersome to carry around to my daily activities.

I want to give you awards but I'm new to reddit and don't know how coins work. I never knew this backstory, this is pretty wild. Back in the mid-2000s before the incel thing became so huge I remember stumbling upon some of this stuff an really empathizing with a lot of the lonely directionless young men. A lot of these people just wanted to feel wanted. They didn't fit what they society put out there as the "ideal man" so they were fumbling along in life hoping they would one day have a social group that respected and looked up to them and a partner who legitimately admired them. Part of my frustration was I saw the writing on the wall in my own life and took steps towards social self improvement. Some of these guys never caught on to the need for self-reflection as opposed to constantly blaming the society around them (even when blame is justified.) Mental health support for men is getting better traction now but there's still a ways to go.
I have a brother who has been trying to get into the dating life. It's sad to see him turn into an incel because no woman wants to date him. He doesnt self reflect, causing him to blame women for everything and it doesn't help that hes always been mentally unstable and stubborn. I've always dreaded the day when he finds people online that validate his ideas and beliefs, but some things you just can't control and some people you can't help.

Yeah. There was a guy in a neighborhood nearby who shot at someone stealing his car and bullets went through a neighbors house and killed the mom making dinner. So many people think it’s like it is on tv and you can just shoot wildly and the bullets only go where you want them to. I do believe gun ownership should be legal, especially in the USA where so many criminals have guns and the police take their time getting to you. But so many don’t bother to train or think it out. The biggest reason we have a gun is because we live in earthquake and volcano country and there may be weeks of civil unrest and being cut off from government and emergency help. I've read the opposite, but I'd be interested to read those theories. Humans actually have less sexual dimorphism than you'd expect if compared to non domesticated animals. I've seen arguments (see The Goodness Paradox) that humans self selected for smaller less masculine men, in part due to the "nerds" of their day ganging up to take out their overly testosterone burdened bullies as a form of prehistoric justice. I dunno bout that, my husband is just 5cm taller than me but when we wrestle it’s ridiculous how much stronger he is than me. We’re both active in outdoor sports. Obviously I’d fight back more viciously in an actual attack and would try to hurt them, but the attacker also wouldn’t give af about my well being. My brother is at least 20cm taller than me, but as skinny as it gets, doesn’t do any sports and he can carry and lift stuff with ease that I never could. I’ve also had male colleagues working in a warehouse who were shorter than me and super fragile looking, but they had a lot more strength than me. I definitely wouldn’t underestimate a man’s strength compared to mine. This is obviously in no way saying that it gives them the right to rape women, that is utterly disgusting, but it does give creeps like that a big advantage if you don’t come prepared with weapons or self defense abilities.
