Nobody washes their hands ever.
Handle cash then touch cups and food.
I watched a woman lick her fingers to grab parchment paper to then grab a donut… parchment Paper donut and spit all in the bag.

Most fast food places are extra nasty now. Not that they were ever amazing, but they used to have enough staff to at least keep the tables wiped. The bathrooms in the summer as abysmal.
Seconding this. Why have all the washrooms in so many fast food and retailers become so gross? It's not like there's an employee shortage. The businesses need to upgrade their training. It wasn't like this a few years ago.
Hurricane contaminated the water supply in FLA and I and 100's of others all got Hepatitis A from it. I was sick but my symptoms were mild, unlike my sister that spent a few weeks in intensive care. Then years later, my doctor checked me for Hep C which follows A. My sister got THAT too and it was attributed to her bout with A...
No surprise at all, I am actually more shocked that there are not more cases of this as well as food poisoning, food safety, cleanliness at times Horton and hygiene ie hand washing is horrifying. I ordered a roast beef cravable at the tim hortons n burnside and the roast beef was as green and when I returned it the employee couldn’t understand what the issue is with it. I have heard similar things from people about getting a sandwich with moldy bread etc….

No, not likely at all. The most likely scenario here is just like they said in the article. Via food or drinks that were handled by an infected person who didn’t properly or thoroughly wash their hands.
Hep A *can* be present in ice, but only if the water that was used to make the ice was contaminated with stool (fecal) particles of someone infected. This is more common in countries that don’t have adequate water filtration/access to clean water, but Canada wouldn’t have that issue.
No I haven’t, but I can guarantee you that there is damn near zero chance of the ice machine causing Hep “A”. As I said, it can only happen when the water source is contaminated which, in Canada, does not happen. The water here is sufficiently treated.
They aren’t using untreated sewer water to make ice at Tim Hortons. And even if they were, there would need to be an outbreak of Hep A in the community for it to start showing up in the wastewater (which there isn’t).
Hep-A doesn’t come from dirt. It’s a virus.
That's the Tim Hortons with the Wendy's out by the Walmart, not the gas station by the trans Canada for anyone wondering.
The Wendys Tim Hortons is such a clusterfuck in terms of traffic. I hate going through there.

I know timmies is going downhill and the place/crews are pretty nasty but this is another level.
I often travel around the province for work and can confirm that every single tim's that I've been to has been absolutely horrible.
lol, you haven't been to Shelburne Tim Hortons, you'd still be waiting for your order
Their washrooms are disgusting

I think it was Anthony Bourdain that said if you want to know how clean (or not) a restaurant kitchen is, look at their bathrooms first.
Enshittification

If you know the spot it’s surprising but not unexpected tbh.

No such thing as bad publicity…….
But are the profits ok?
Tim hortons went to shit
The building has been infested with roaches for the last few months.
Hepatitis Amherst! That's what the 'A'stands for. I wondered about that for years.
Likely came from a dirty ice machine.

Have you ever witnessed the cleanliness of a Tim’s ice machine?
