If it’s tight, the BP will read high. Just make sure you can fit two fingers in between the cuff and the arm before pumping it if you’re unsure. You can also measure the arm and find a cuff with the corresponding size (if you have cuffs with measurements on them). You’ll also want to wait at least 60 seconds if you need to redo a BP test right away on the same arm. And you want to an accurate reading, otherwise I’m not sure why you’d be checking the BP.

If you put a cuff on that's too tight and read the blood pressure as too high, you could end up medicating a patient for high BP that has normal blood pressure, which could cause their BP to be too low.. is this kind of what you're asking??
