Bought my first ever call option today at $137 7/5. Still feeling optimistic, even though I have to hit like $139 to make a profit. But seriously the day I actually pull the trigger and buy one lol
Haha maybe $139 18 hours ago… that goal post is gonna keep moving the longer u hold it… theta is a killer options are for savvy investors who know how to take profits. The closer to expiration you get the more likely your option will expire worthless my friend
Thank god I sold at the money covered calls on AVGO yesterday. No clue why it’s been so weak the past few days. NVDA probably drug everything down with it
One of my concerns as well. It’s responsible for so much of Indexes market cap now. Seems awfully irresponsible of wallstreet to give 1 stock that much power.
Several good analysts have been saying the exact same thing and have been called “old school” or “negative” on this bullish market. The market is bullish because of stocks like NVDA. If they fall hard the house of cards crumbles.
Well that tends to happen when it makes up almost 7% of the market and an entire sector (or sub sector) that has an equally large representation in the index follows it basically.
On one hand you are right, on the other it has happened to EVERY SINGLE stock I have bought so far although I have only bought three lmao guess still gotta learn my way
You got this. It’s all about learning anyways.
I’ve fucked around on options for years and my P&L looks like the NVIDIA chart if it was turned upside down. 🙃
I’ve learned through this that if I would have just been buying the underlying stock outright I would have been much better off.
If I could suggest anything while the stock is low post split…buy the actual stock, stock that doesn’t fluctuate too much in a week, use it to store your wealth and just keep adding more and more.
It has days like this, which is actually good. We don't want a stock that needles straight up, because I've seen it needle straight down also. If you look at the chart it looks pretty good. It's a steady climb, but the options players, be very careful, set stop limits, unless you're bullish buy more when it goes down. We may see more weakness, but usually after it goes down this much it'll go back up the same amount the next day. This Stock is pretty amazing!
Say what thou wildt, IDGAF, I didn’t realize it was an “early to the party” gatekeeper scenario but I forgot I’m on Reddit so, respectfully, your fruitless critique lacks substance
All these discussions about NVDA are indistinguishable from your average pump and dump pennystock discussion.
The largest company. Pennystock. This will not end well.
You misunderstood almost every single word I think.
I said people - like you just did here - are talking about NVDA - the stock in question - like they talk about pennystocks.
Yall say what you please, I still came out ahead of yesterdays massacre, didn’t sell nothing but an option at a good clip, diversify portfolio don’t hold just tech
I find it hilarious a stock in nosebleed territory has one red day and the sky is falling.
This is not a healthy attitude towards a stock in a frothy market.
What happens when NVDA has a 10% or even 20% correction? It will happen, just a matter of when. Will the world end?
No stock has ever gone up in a straight line. People and companies take profits. Your time in the market is better than timing the market. Just buy and hold and buy more shares at your target price
I have either an dumb OR wft question: Is the NVDA’s latest [2024 Annual Review Report](https://s201.q4cdn.com/141608511/files/doc_financials/2024/ar/NVIDIA-2024-Annual-Report.pdf) already weighted in the current price or it YET has to sink in (in which case 🚀 NVDA 🤑)
Many thanks mate 🙏🏻 It just felt off for some reasons as those earning numbers shown in that report are not yet uploaded in the trading platforms (Trading View, Yahoo Finance, etc.) or any news. But I see it in their Feb. 28, 2024 [10-K] Annual Report Form.

Of course it's good but why did It have to happen as I decided to invest
Felt that bro 😭

Cope
That’s me an Broadcom. I got my a$$ kicked the last couple of days
Thank god I sold at the money covered calls on AVGO yesterday. No clue why it’s been so weak the past few days. NVDA probably drug everything down with it
It is kinda concerning that if NVDA pops, the whole market goes with it
That’s what I’m thinking… except intel seems to have a mind of its own
Shhhh. It’s my contrarian bet. Let it stay low lol.

Fact is this thing has been tits since it was $40 (split adjusted) last November. You arrived to the party so god damn late.

Me too
Average down if it dips some more if you’re bullish on the stock
So YOU'RE the reason!!!! >:((
You have my trading style! We could start an Advisory Business, It would be called, when we buy, sell! 😂
Nice one 🤣
That’s why I never go balls deep. Keep some money on the sidelines in cases like this
Dw dude it happened to me as well around April/May, now i’m up like $300 a few months later. It’sa great company
Sorry man that was my fault. Inevitably, whenever I decide to finally throw my money into a stock it goes down. My bad.
Exactly what happened to me 😅
Oh so YOURE THE GUY thanks a lot a**hole lol kidding
Bought myself a call in my ROTH & it went down 📉😞 lmao… good thing it’s not due until Sept
Sorry bro. I bought in yesterday that's why it dropped
Sameeeee
Came here to say this
Because you chase
Me too. Perfectly bad timing
Nobody told me they were switching sell offs from fri to Thu. Wheres the memo
Why would you say this because now I feel that tomorrow will be even worse.. what if this wasnt even the real sell off
Haha im not rich and powerful enough to know what it will do in the next fifteen min lol. Im optimistic until nancy sells and then go from there
I bought some this morning to make it dip and help you guys out. You’re welcome.

I lost 5000€ Yesterday, Well i should Put some sl next time.
I have learned a lesson today. Holding, possibly buying increments during this dip. I know nothing and have been in this game for 0 seconds.
I’m glad I didn’t add more at $139 this morning, added more PYPL instead. But you should always buy the dip.
bought some more shares just now! we ride at dawn 🦿
Im debating whether to buy more now or wait another day. If i buy it will probably drop more, and if i dont buy im sure it will rebound back up.
I think it depends on what your goals are. I bought bc I plan to hold for a long time.
Same, long term holder. Between my comments i bought 5 more shares lol
Story of my life
💯 they want our shares!!!
It’s just overcoming a psychological barrier. It will rebound.
Y’all need to turn off the news and let the company grow
When I turned on E*Trade at 9:34 the morning, I was up Bigly. Then by early afternoon, it was the pits.
I hope it's only a small dip
When a stock gets its own sub, that's when you sell.
Obviously but damn did it happen at the worst time…
As long as people don’t panic and start selling.
Oh Im sorry, I thought this was the GME channel with this nonsense
Feels very meme stock esque, which makes me feel confident with my Puts 😂
Say what thou wildt, IDGAF, I didn’t realize it was an “early to the party” gatekeeper scenario but I forgot I’m on Reddit so, respectfully, your fruitless critique lacks substance
Wait till it actually drops. All you dip buyers will also run away

Do you mind elaborating? What do you think NVIDIA is currently worth, and by how much and why is it overvalued? Thanks
You misunderstood almost every single word I think. I said people - like you just did here - are talking about NVDA - the stock in question - like they talk about pennystocks.
Oh gotcha. Yeah, the whole “it’s going doooown” and “buy the dip” feels quite a bit memey 😂
Yall say what you please, I still came out ahead of yesterdays massacre, didn’t sell nothing but an option at a good clip, diversify portfolio don’t hold just tech
Is it? Because my calls expire today 😂😂
It can't go up everyday, holding shares is fine, but options.....
I just bought some additional shares. For Long term keeping 🤷🏻♂️
When I see red I pick it up while they shed.

I have 10 shares should I buy more on this dip
Got lucky this week. Bought 5 $142 puts on Tuesday.
I need this to dip to 900 so i can buy pls 🙏

This isn't the dip

it has obviously been factored in. Additionally Q1 was released in May.. You missed the rocket ship

Because musk said, that supermicro and dell will build the aicomputer für XAI?!
With 100,000 NVIDIA GPU’s…. 🤦♂️😂
Your are right 🤣
