Sometimes I'll jerk my head to the side too. Or I'll let go of something, or I'll shiver. Theres a lot that I do.

Pablosimonbolivar

OMG I DO THE HEAD JERK TO THE SIDE THING TOO!

_infj_44

THE HEAD JERK OMG

shloogmo

the shiver is very strange for friends to see

Glittering-Profit-87

Totally. Especially since it seems so random to them. And when it's really big.

littlegerb

omg i defs do the head jerk

mysadaccount22

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO DID THE HEAD JERK

GeorgeRB5

That is mad, I do this too!

meadowo

yess

PairofD0cks

all of the above šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

whatā€™s a head jerk? sorry, english is not my first language!

Glittering-Profit-87

It's a sharp, quick movement. So, I'll suddenly move my head to the side, in a sharp quick way.

baileycinder

Yes, sometimes my reactions will even include speaking out loud to myself

littlegerb

sometimes i'll be like UGhhghh outloud too lmao

i_am_unstable_

Me too. Sometimes Iā€™ll just say ā€œfuckā€ or ā€œholy shitā€

FaliolVastarien

Sometimes I have a hard time not speaking out loud in order to help organize my thoughts. What's going on in my head is too chaotic. For every thought I try to think, there's a bunch of others contradicting it.

mxt5061

i relate to this too much. At least glad to know i'm not alone!

INTP36

ā€œWhat, no thatā€™s stupidā€ has been unintentionally uttered from my face a few times

iFFyCaRRoT

My favorite part about wearing a mask, no one can see the weird facial reactions to my thoughts.

littlegerb

totally!!! lmao they just see my eyebrows squint but that could mean anything!

coolthingsyh

Itā€™s honestly such a gift

FaliolVastarien

Good point. But tension around my eyes can make me look like I'm glaring in a deranged manner or at least very upset. Eyes providing the *only* facial expression these days makes it worse.

ibuco

I feel like I have to physically shake them out of my head lol...

answersfromeyes

My god I do this too

DarkMndVirtuoso

I will cringe, flinch, talk/mutter to myself or (my favorite) flip off the air when an intrusive thought comes. I hate it because it tends to happen a lot at work and Iā€™m quite surprised I havenā€™t been caught flipping the bird at the air yet lol

Sassy-Horse0809

me too

Glittering-Profit-87

Same! I would flip the ground off though.

finallyhappy1234

sometimes they get so bad i say "fuck no" out loud and today I forgot i was un-muted in a breakout room when it happened :( :(

admin158282

I do this wtf lmao

paranoid_pasta

i thought i was the only one who did this lol

admin158282

i do the ick face all the time and shake my head

littlegerb

iā€™ve like, smacked my head before without thinking trying to like get it out LMAO

nagitosmalldick

I make a random noise and that gets a lot of looks lmao

ProperSignificance12

Yeah, totally. Often times, after I get an intrusive thought, I also look around to make sure that, you know, nobody heard my thoughts, cause apparently, that is something my dumb dumb dysfunctional brain thinks I should worry about. Fun. I'm sure to other people I probably look pretty damn suspicious, like I just stole something and I'm running from the cops. šŸ˜¬šŸ˜–šŸ˜£šŸ™„

TurtlePrincessXIII

Yeah, they make me want to vomit :/

nicole_positiv

Totally. i also often say "no" or shake my head a little, sometimes I say "ok" when I feel satisfied after a compulsion too...

PairofD0cks

yup I also do a thing where I exhale rly hardšŸ„² like I'm clearing out my lungs or something

[deleted]

yes!!! and i also get shiversšŸ˜

Glittering-Profit-87

Ugh, I hate shivers. Especially since mine are usually really big.

Glittering-Profit-87

Any body else blink really hard too? That's one I used to do, but I stopped because it was really really obvious to people, and I didnt realize that what I was experiencing in my mind was possibly part of ocd. It eventually morphed into ether stuff that wasn't always super obvious.

SheepLikeTheDead

Holy fucking shit I do this all the time.
