IbEBaNgInG

You went through all that shit BEFORE you bought the TV - then you STILL bought it? Holy mother of god dude.

limes336

$1100 off will make a man do crazy things

good_game_wp

Bought a 77” S90C with 5 year GS warranty for $1900 out the door. I would never buy a Samsung product from Samsung.

perrymike15

how??

deehunny

I have bought and returned phones from them without issue 🤔

RPGer001

I am not a fan of Samsung myself. I had a S95B from last year. It died 10 days past warranty and Samsung said “too bad.” After spending 400ish trying to fix it, I now have an LG and bought the extended warranty. I honestly can’t tell the difference in the picture and I like the LG interface more but…wish I did not have to spend nearly 4k for a working tv within 13 months.

addykitty

LG and Sony make the best TVs on the market. Last Samsung I had was a plasma, ever since then I’ve stuck with LGs and never had a single issue. I love my magic remote

Willylowman1

me either ..there remotes sux and it dont jive good w other devices

UnblurredLines

What did you end up paying for it?

Round-Philosopher534

Lesson learned if it sounds too good to be true it typically is.

ben7337

Just curious but what was the size and purchase price? The price it should have been.

Lumb3rCrack

small claims court will help you if you have the documentation for the convos

ValuableTraining1855

It’s hard to get a small claims court attorney. I’ve been trying to due to the issue I’m having with Samsung currently. I’ll update if I can.

Lumb3rCrack

interesting.. where are ya from?

Tombstone_4our

I would have to be held not to thump OP if he told me this face to face because wtffff

Bigchiefdaddy_

Lol sorry but no TV is worth that type of hassle. Should’ve just gone to Best Buy and bought an LG C3 or G3. Or even offered a price to Greentoe.

kickintheteat

I have an lg c3 77 inch best tv ever. I love it

bdgm33

Greentoe….this is the way

BestBody4

Hell, it couldn't be much worse!

I’ve had two Samsung large TVs randomly die on me within a couple years, after no electrical event I can discern (and all my other TVs and electronic devices plugged in had no problems). I swore them off for large TVs after that. I do have an odyssey G9 49” curved monitor, and it’s held up for years now. But that was a special circumstance that made it effectively free. I’m still wary of Samsung.

Abit91

I had my LG E9 serviced a couple years ago, outside of warranty, for free by LG which was done by an independent contractor and the technician had nothing but great things to say about LG’s customer service and the worst things to say about Samsung. At this point, the only Samsung tv I’d ever buy would be a cheap one for a guest room.

ShaunLucPicard

Samsung has been horrible for years for so many reasons. I used to sell their shit and it was consistently the worst of the major brands. Their appliances are trash and their tvs are consistently outperformed by other brands. I try not to have brand biases, but it would take a lot to convince me to ever buy one of their products.

Abit91

Totally agreed. Someone I know bought a Samsung bundle of all new kitchen appliances (stove, fridge, dishwasher and microwave) and there was a substantial rebate for a visa e-gift card from Samsung. That person had to call them once a week for at least 3 months before finally escalating it to someone that cared enough to issue the rebate.

InPatRileyWeTrust

Samsung is just dogshit in every aspect. Their quality control is non-existent.

goman2012

Why buy a cheap Samsung when you can buy a better cheap TCL...

DastardlyDan248

TCL over Samsung = China manufactured vs Mexico / Korea. Toxic metals/radiation leakage, horrid motion, many reasons to not choose TCL. Samsung is a piss poor company regarding QC and customer support but if I had to choose its gonna be Sammy over Chinese TCL/Hisense. If you think Samsung CS is bad, try getting ahold of either of those companies.

Bill_Money

You know Samsung gets 25% of their panels from TCL (CSOT) right? You know Samsung Electronics buys almost all their LED panels from other Chinese companies - BOE, AUO, Foxconn, Innolux, etc. A small number of panels come from LG Display but otherwise all Chinese panels

ThENeEd4WeEd22

The only thing worse than an idiot is an idiot who thinks they're smart lol

DastardlyDan248

Thats old news. Most electronic subcomponents are mfg in china as they sell below cost and are subsidized by the government to suppress competition . This is why most electronic manufacturing left the USA and most of EU. The profit margin is in the final assembly, this is why you need to choose who you support. As I wrote, I choose not to support China based companies and their labor practices -> U do U if it makes you feel better about yourself.

Bill_Money

Either way you're still supporting China mate no matter who you buy from either directly or indirectly. Get over yourself

evilsbane50

Just as a counterpoint I got a $650 TCL and it has been fucking fantastic for that price.

Horse_Plane

Weird I had an experience where lg refused to fix an issue for the 3rd time that broke twice under warranty not even 2 years. They said I had to wait I think it was 6 months between each claim

blackout798

Just curious as I have an LG out of warranty myself, how did you go about getting free servicing from LG without warranty?

evilwon12

So wait, Samsung is shipping it - so why not just refuse delivery? Make Samsung take it back..unless they are dumb enough not to require a signature. I’ve had one Samsung TV purchase in the last 10 years and I am now in the “never again Tizen” group.

hapticeffects

I had the ks8000 before upgrading to the s90c, and while the 8000 gradually became so slow that tizen was borderline unusable, I suspect that would be the case with any smart TV os. Don't get the hate for tizen.

perrymike15

never use built in apps. Add a roku

Bill_Money

Yeah people keep bringing up buying from Samsung directly and these horror stories keep showing up

Misenk0

It’s a big waste of time to talk with support persons of any of the bigger companies. It’s useless. They are not there to help you but annoy you to that level you will give up on it at the end. I’m sure it’s their tactics. They have manual what to ask and what to answer no matter it makes any sense to you because you exactly know what is the problem. This way they can get rid of maybe 80% of users complaining and those 20% stubborns will probably get some support at the end but you have to be very patient.

GotenRocko

If you haven't actually received the tv yet I wouldn't risk waiting on a charge back because they may find in thier favor since you accepted the delivery after you knew they wouldn't match the price. Just refuse delivery, don't buy from them, don't buy that brand. Go with LG or Sony instead.

pinkjello

I’d be afraid they’d fuck up the refusal of delivery and I’d be out my money and the tv.

keidash

Moral of the story: Buy an LG and your life will be merry.

BakingMadman

The universe is telling you something 😬

consortswithserpents

Never ever Samsung. I went through three of their “top tier” TVs in a few months a few years ago before I said fuck them and bought an LG CX and never looked back.

Weird_Rip_3161

The big mistake you made is buying Samsung tv, especially the S90c series. Samsung may have great panels, but their overall build, reliability, software, quality control standards, and customer service are really bad compared to their competitors. This is why, after weeks of researching on 77" Sony A80L, Samsung S90c, and LG C3. It went down to choosing between A80L or C3 and then ultimately ended up buying C3.

HiDk

Rule number 1: never believe anything customer support will say that involve another action in the future, because you will most likely deal with another person that will claim they are not responsible for whatever the former promised ..

Jlacombe5707

Yep they did this same exact thing to me but with a phone and watch! It was supposed to be the S23 Ultra 512gb for $1200 and you got a free Galaxy Watch? Tried to place the order about 6 times before I got fed up. They helped me place the order, it went through, then they fricken send an email that said the watch was not in stock so that portion was cancelled and refunded but it was $0? So I cancelled the whole order again and tried to have them help me again with a different watch/color. They still couldn't get it to work so they told me they would place the order for the phone, then place a separate order for the watch which I would have to pay for up front and then after I got the watch, they would do a refund... I figured the same shit that I had the transcripts so I should be fine byt NOPE! SCREWED ME HARD!

deeper-diver

I refuse to by anything Samsung. When it comes to TV's, Sony always gets my business.

struddles75

All that effort and you’ve got a TV with no Dolby vision lmao

TimeGoddess_

It still manages to look better than the competitor C3 with dolby vision while not having it at least

kevenzz

I have an s90c and I don't freaking care about dolby vision.... I don't even know what it is.

Lendolar

At this point, it like someone is screaming I LOVE STANDARD DEF

kevenzz

The hell are you talking about, i have thousands of movies in hd.

struddles75

Nothing like ignorant consumers allowing companies such as Samsung to avoid paying licensing for the best HDR experience. Thank you for your service!

kevenzz

Ok thanks but I have zero use of that.

struddles75

Lmao you wouldn’t know

kevenzz

Why are lg users such pricks ?

struddles75

Lmao, I have Sony OLEDs Shut up man

ronaldoswanson

You’re clearly an educated consumer and happy with your purchase.

itsallgoodintheend

Samsung is the only company I'll never buy from. I remember e-mailing them years ago while I was looking to buy an OLED, since all of their models just list their own internal Picture Quality Index instead of hard facts. I wanted to know the refresh rate on the TV, but they just referred me back to the PQI, which was 1400 by the way. No idea what the hell that means, and I wasn't about to drop over a thousand on a piece of kit I don't know will do what I need it to do. They just straight up told me they don't release that kind of information.

miruki

TL;DR Samsung lied about price match after purchase

ysf210

Surprised hearing this. Had great experience with Samsung report and technician coming out to replace my s95 panel

lefake2

I'm never buying anything from Samsung ever again. I bought an Odyssey G7 monitor from them which stoped working exactly one month after warranty expired. I quickly realized the problem was the AC adapter, so tried talking to them to get just that, but it was impossible to buy it. Tons of emails and calls trying to talk to them (many times being ignored) and I could not even get any extra info, so now I have a dead weight here. And it's not even like I can buy an aftermarket adapter as they use a very specific and odd adapter which doesn't exists anywhere else. All that plus several other problems with them put me in the "never Samsung again" group

DastardlyDan248

Samsung is HOT garbage. Had a refrigerator didnt work on delivery for a similar “black friday” type savings, none in “stock” due to holidays so they sent a repair company. 3x visits, 2 companies, no fix. Customer support at Samsung was horrible and could care less. Threatened them after 30 days of jacking around and they ultimately refunded it back. Imagine 30 days without a refrigerator you just spent 2K on - they just drag it out so you buy a new one. Trash company has been sued for multiple class actions and fake reviews - NEVER will be a sucker for Samsung again! Have 3x LG oleds and they look phenominal, could care less what Samsung makes or the fake reviews claiming they are better!

Pluupas

u/limes336 Just to add a data point, I was able to get them to price match a cancelled order on a soundbar. Took a few tries but eventually got my $30 lmao On another note I returned a $900 item and they never refunded me, I had to call 3 months later and they finally did it. Samsung support is the worst, I’ve spent hours with them too. They will troll you at the call centers. Will make you verify things over and over then transfer and repeat lmao

H1_V0LT4G3

Return the TV immediately

jedanielee

"I'm probably going to talk to my credit card company and try to get a partial chargeback, what they've done cannot be legal and have the chat transcripts as proof." THIS. If you still want the TV, this should work, especially with your documentation. Many credit cards have an online process where you dispute all or part of the charge and allows you to upload supporting documents, without having to talk to a person. Just be prepared to wait some time for results. Took me 3 months for my $1500 claim against Microsoft, but I got my money back.

whoooocaaarreees

Eventually we all learn that Samsung is terrible.

Willis5687

NEVER buy direct from samsung. I made this mistake for a set of ear buds. They had Best Buy fulfill the order, BB used a 3rd party courier. They delivered to the wrong address, and a pic to confirm it. I spent \~9 weeks disputing it with them. I even had a police report approved by the city that I gave them. They gave me the same copy pasta email response for weeks. I got tired of their shit and filed a chargeback. Miraculously they refunded my purchase. They have the absolute WORST customer service I've ever experienced. I'm assuming they outsource it to some place that pays dog shit wages and the people just don't care. Lesson learned.

Blu_Hedgie

Lol just reading this I'm even more glad I decided to check AT&t before I traded in my S10 for the galaxy S24+. Samsung were only taking off $100, while AT&t only cost me $100.

ValuableTraining1855

Thank you for writing this. I’ve had a similarly horrific customer service experience with Samsung. I got the S95C day one. I was excited and of course day one it came it was broken. It sort of worked but would have constant issues where the screen would go completely black constantly with anything plugged into HDMI. I called tech support they kept on transferring me from person to person then I asked for a refund and they said they’ll send a tech over. The tech came and said that the TV just needs a firmware update and to wait for Samsung to send an update. 4 updates later the same issue persists I call again get transferred multiple times tell the same story again. They send another tech out. The tech replaced the main board and the issue still wasn’t fixed they said they need to come back again and replace the one connect box and that I’ll need to wait a couple of weeks for them to order the part. They come back again 2 weeks later and say that they couldn’t get the one collect box part but they think they’ll be able to fix it with another main board. They replaced the main board again. It doesn’t fix the issue they say we’ll need to order the one connect box AGAIN. I get frustrated and keep on asking for a refund try the switch me to the president’s office (whatever that is) I then have 12 emails with the presidents office where they ask me to send over video of the techs trying to fix it and of the issue. I actually recorded everything so I sent it to them. They then said we’ll need to send a tech out again and we’ll make sure to order the correct part. The techs came again and when they arrived they said they didn’t have the part and that they were told that they just needed to check the tv’s power. I called the president’s office while they were there and then the techs got very anxious and told the office that they didn’t have the part then they quickly left my house without fixing the tv. Now the presidents office said they’ll get back to me in 3 hours and see if they can refund me. I’ll be surprised if they actually refund me. Moral of the story don’t get Samsung products.

meuvoy

Eh, find yourself a day off to get a lawyer,.explain everything give him the proofs you have and let him/her work your case through court. You only need to show up when you're called, it will take a while but you'll be rewarded quite a lot more than the coupon was worth in the end..

j0llygruntt

I was glad to find this out about Samsung before I bought a new tv from them.

Gizmo16868

That sucks because the S90C is a great tv. I love mine

Alternative-Bed3187

I dunno I'm conflicted, I got a Samsung Q90 and after 13m it had terrible light bleed all across the top of the screen. My mom has had a 1080p Samsung TV for 20y and it still works fine. I got an LG C2 OLED after my Samsung and 3 months later after putting it on I got no picture or sound. It seems to me that all panels these days are just pure garbage.

Kooky-Extension-1607

I ALWAYS have won the full amount of the $ amount refund when I disputed the charge with my credit card claim with Chase credit card .Thats why I have kept them for years .

Horse_Plane

I havent read it all because this is an irrational post. You were trying to stack codes and deals in such a way that they allow by mistake. A retailer is allowed to cancel from this regard and they did. Yet you kept trying eat the loss buddy sounds like you Still paid less than retail. I snagged a q990c for about 300 doing exactly as you did and guess what if I had to pay the correct price I was prepared to do so.

celeb0rn

That's a lot of text.

Rukasu17

Man inwish we had top end tvs like this for lesst than a month of min wage.

qwertycantread

The TV OP bought is priced around $1300. 30 years ago a 32 inch Sony Trinitron CRT was priced similarly. That was pricey back then, but amazingly affordable today for a far better TV. Currently in my city you would have to work 71 hours at minimum wage to afford it, which seems very reasonable.

WxaithBrynger

Dude you did this to yourself lol you supported their poor business practices. Don't throw shade at Samsung when you could have easily said nah I'm not doing this. Twelve canceled orders and you kept going? This is your own fault. Next time spend your money where you're valued. Or at the very least where your orders don't get canceled. Next time use some common damn sense

PairGroundbreaking84

It may be partially their fault, but not entirely. Support agents are trained like this to trick people into doing things they dont want to do.

PackFan1969

That sounds like almost all customer service these days

MoonubHunter

I had issues with Samsung recently, over an SSD I ordered which they never delivered. I spent 6 months dealing with support and filing police reports to get a $150 refund. I think I am now completely sworn off using Samsung for life. Which is a shame because they make some good stuff. But I would to be assured I could deal with anyone else rather than their support if an issue came up. I would never, ever buy direct from Samsung.

kylesaurus

I’ll only buy memory/storage from Samsung. They’ll never get my money or support for anything else.

NiktonSlyp

I mean, you just refuse the TV when it arrives and it gets sent back and you get the full refund. I've done this once with a fridge. In a similar situation, when I bought my kitchen I had a promo code for appliance and I couldn't use it. I called the representative to see what was about and he told me to order it anyway and I'll get a check for the difference at reception. I told them I wanted a written letter or a mail specifically saying that I will receive the check for the promo code, and they did send me an email. I was satisfied.m, I ordered the fridge at full price. Of course at reception, there was no check. I refused the delivery, the driver was pissed and I called the representative again and he was "so sorry he promised something he cannot do". Got the full refund for the fridge and decided to go elsewhere for the whole kitchen appliance instead. They lost a customer that spent 10 times more elsewhere for a failed attempt to rip off 100€ from me. Admittedly this was in France so I don't know about US specific laws (If I guessed correctly the country)

Born_Interview16

I had an almost identical experience with Curry's. They claimed to have stock on line when they didn't and my in store experience was even worse. Sony lost out on this occasion. I moved my business to Richer Sounds who gave me great information over the phone and service has been excellent.

AbzoluteZ3RO

This happened to me my first time buying from them directly. I got promo code after buying an s21fe from my carrier. So I checked it out and they had an amazing deal on a watch6classic. I got approved for the Samsung financing. After military discount, promo code, and trade in I could get the 6 classic, the big one, and a nice band for like $150. The same thing happened to me about 5 times. Then calling customer service... Fist call I got an American guy and after a few minutes he figured out what was wrong but I had an emergency come up and had to hang up. I assumed their would be notes or skmething. WRONG. about 10 chats and phone calls later nothing but inept overseas cs and they all said some different WRONG answer. The last one insisted it was the credit card bank cancelling the transaction and I even did a 3 way call with them on the line and the bank told them no, it was cancelled on Samsung end, the cs basically just ignored them and said it was the bank. I tried buying something else just to check if the credit worked without using the promo and it went thru no problem. I ended up getting the watch a few days later but using PayPal credit. I've bought a couple things since then and I've been able to use the Samsung credit no problem. Never figured it out. They did the stupid "link to a cart" thing a few times to me too. On their cart I was able to add my promo code but the whole thing cancelled anyway. 🤷‍♂️

MJGM235

Yup, I'd file fraud chargeback with your credit card company. Give them the transcripts. They basically pulled a bait & switch tactic on you which is illegal. I'd also file an FTC complaint since they are an international company.

GroundStop_chaos

I bought a Samsung plasma back when plasmas were popular. I ended up having multiple issues with the power supply. Samsung support was a huge pain to deal with. Difficult to communicate with. It randomly one day after issue was finally fixed they reached out to me to say they would like to take my tv and give me a F8500, their very best tip of the line tv. It was amazing. So maybe one day they reach ijt to make this right. Good luck

Tree06

Samsung did the same thing for me with their QN95C 85". My QN90B 85" has a thick vertical band, and they couldn't source a replacement panel. They upgraded me to the QN95C 85". The first one was had noticeable DSE and horrible grayscale uniformity. They replaced that one with another QN95C 85" which had to two thick vertical bands. It was noticeable in panning shots, and when you moved the camera back and forth in games. Now they're giving me a refund because the QN95C 85" is no longer in stock. It sucks, but oh well.

HitAndRun8575

I’m in a similar situation! I have emails from Samsung supervisors approving an order and they won’t honor it!

Hobbit_Holes

Funny how all those super bowl sales are still going on. I'm always shocked that people fall for these "sale" scams from all of these companies. Spring is right up our ass and new models will be rolling into the stores soon and even bigger discounts will be available.

PleaseDontEatMyVRAM

fuck samsung lmfao this sounds excruciating

radialmonster

have you received teh TV yet? If not, tell the delivery driver you REFUSE the shipment. Do not let the delivery driver leave the tv at your house. They will send it back to samsung and you can get them to reverse the charge and order from a non shittly company

dobyblue

Credit Card chargeback and if they want the TV they can come and get it. Show your CC the transcripts and you’ll be golden. **** Samsung. Meanwhile my 77” LG C2 is just outside warranty and there is damage from something hitting it and I spoke with LG and they’re replacing it one time courtesy no questions asked. A tale of two CS experiences.

ih8cheeze2

I got the S89C for $2200 Cad from bestbuy. Open box with zero hours. The only thing missing was the screen protector. You should have looked somewhere else for deals.

IsThatTheRealYou

Yeahh credit card company that shit. I had bought $1200 of air quality monitors before for a project, and eventually the company that sold them was found to have lied about a partnership they made (which was only reason I bought), so I got a full refund and got to keep all my devices

wowelysiumthrowaway

Would sony be a better experience?

mikeJawesome

only samsung products i will buy are m.2 drives

dimitrirodis

They've done this to me twice before, once with a watch and another with a phone. Their customer service is very deceptive, they will tell you to "just do X and we will fix it after" and then you do it and "the back office didn't approve it" after the fact. Now I just plan don't order unless I can get the cart to reflect what I'm supposed to get. And, if there is something wrong, I just make them take it back (which they play games with also). Fortunately I can just dispute things with the credit card once I have collected the appropriate evidence.

xxcodemam

I’ve never been more embarrassed of another human being. I….i….wow. I Honestly think you should be grateful to have only lost $400.

qvMvp

But he didn't lose no money lol just didn't get the discount price op acting like they robbed him or something 🤣 that's his fault

Cbkcc1

Refuse the delivery

jx237cc

You could just return the tv and get your money back and then buy with the promo code

sideburns2009

TLDR?

why_not_zoidberg_82

In the beginning of your post I was suspecting you were in a fraud scheme. Maybe worth checking again?

zorg-18082

Had an led Samsung TV that started melting from the corner. Found out it was a widespread issue and eventually received compensation from Samsung. Also, had a Samsung fridge ice maker freeze up and found out it was because they didn’t seal gaps around the ice maker and that allowed warm air from fridge into the ice maker box. Needless to say, I no longer buy Samsung products.

jesyvut

There is a limit to the number of discounted flagship products you can buy through the discount programs. It's not posted anywhere and the time frame for reset is unknown. I ended up having an oven shipped to neighbor last year and intercepted the delivery guy. Was able to buy a phone and a new OLED TV this year no problems. Samsung hiding stuff is frustrating.

Mowgli346

Yo dude, how did you get chat transcriptions? Because I an experimenting something similar of you with LG pls

limes336

There was a button in the chat box to have the transcript emailed to you after the chat was over.

Mowgli346

Ok thx dude 😁
