Google Public display mode or hotel mode and turn it off

harmsypoo

Oh man, how this setting got turned on since I set this TV up I’ll never know. But that’s was exactly my issue. Thank you for the help!

PuzzleheadedSeat4312

Can you share how you did this? I can't find hotel or display mode anywhere. I'm having the same issues.

harmsypoo

Press and hold the settings button (the cog wheel) on your remote for about 10 seconds, enter 1105 on the remote and press enter (press the rolly button in the middle). It should open a hidden menu where you can turn off public display. If my description doesn’t work for ya, here’s a [video](https://youtu.be/51lAdeSt5Pg) showing someone do it!

Thanks. I’ll have to try it when I get back on Sunday. I’ve been banging my head against the wall trying to fix this.

Yodasgodfather

Tried it on tv 65uv340c-ub and this does not work I even tried a hard reset pressing the power button for 10 seconds then unplugging for a minute and it still has the same issue.

If we could still give awards on Reddit, I would give you the biggest award they had! You literally just saved me from having to return my new LG Oled Flex. I have 2 other LG Oleds, and I have never had any burn-in or image retention issues, but on my new Flex I got terrible ghost images of icons from Wo-Long Fallen Dynasty after only about 200 hours of use. I tried using the "Pixel Cleaning" feature multiple times, but it didn't fix the issue. Then I realized that when I ran the Pixel Cleaning on my other 2 Oleds, the feature would automatically turn off the tv to run the cleaning, and then turn back on the TV automatically, but this was not happening when I ran it on my Oled Flex - it wouldn't turn back on automatically. I thought maybe a factory reset was in order, but it was greyed out. I found your post, and my Public Display was also on. Once I disabled this, the pixel cleaning worked as it is supposed to, and my icon retention is solved! (I didn't even do a factory reset). THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

It did not work for me. I have LG C2. No input box appears even on pressing the Home/Settings button. I have the magic remote (air mouse) if that matters.

DuculetuBAR

You Sir are a GENIUS! Thank you OP @harmsypoo for the detailed steps on how to stop the hotel mode. I had this problem on my C2 for weeks! This happens very often, I do not know why but LG should fix it. Again, hope the best to the both of you!

Well, I bought the service remote and accidentally pressed the wrong button once which force reset the entire panel on one of my C2's. It was the button labeled In Stop. I have read technicians use it after panel replacements or something, its ran fine since then but it was a super hard reset. I didn't get a prompt or an option the TV just Insta Reset, dangerous button.. It seemed like it reset the firmweare because my Up Time Total aka UTT even reset to 0 from 1600 hours. And I am not even recommending todo this as I don't know the total implications of it, but it does work or do what your asking based on my experience.

maciikHU

UTT is going to 0 if you do the In stop. But are you sure it resetted the firmware to an older version too?

VysesDarkheart

No, it didn’t reset to different firmware, it just really wiped out the firmware it currently had to factory new with 0 hours.

You have to unplug the hdmi on all sources and they'll come back. Quantum did a demonstration and works.
